NOT a Twilight fan! Guess its more a girl thing......maybe? I really loved Eclipse today, thought it was very well made and true to the book....and *sigh* Edward looked so lovely!

Well, I'm a girl...sort of, Geezer Girl, and I am NOT a Twilight fan either. Vampires just do not interest me, even nice ones that don't drink human blood. Not that I have ever heard of nice vampires before.

I have a question for all those travelling with kids and who have been on DCL before...

It's our first cruise with little Simon and our first time at family beach on Castaway Cay.
Is there enough shade to stay? Or should we rather bring our tent?!?
We have this very cool pop-up-super-ready-to-use tent. And I was thinking about taking it with us... Should we?!?

Not for shoes as it's important they fit REALLY WELL and shoes are heavy to send back of they don't fit. Bought them for a bargain price in a factory outlet store so they still count as a bargain :thumbsup

Was it Tweedmill? My sister used to own that.

All this talk and pictures of fabulous dresses has put me to shame. So now I am the proud owner of a big gold coloured creation. I got it in Birmingham - Anoushka G??? Something like that.
Its a bit tight and DM, who was with me, has offered to buy me a certain undergarment!

Room assignments - I`m looking forward to that. I don`t expect an upgrade but I would like one - thankyouverymuch

We bought US travellers cheques because DCL will cash them into Euros when we need them for Gibraltar and Madeira. They also cash them into US dollars, too. We have some cash and VISA, but didn't want to be carrying tons of cash through Barcelona - so the traveler's cheques seemed like a good way to have cashless cash and not rely on VISA the whole way.

AAA stopped issuing travellers checks, which is where we used to get them. Will DCL change dollars to Euros. I don't know how many euros I need and was wondering what my choices are if I run out of euros.

There are lots of umbrellas. We have always gotten lounge chairs under umbrellas w/o any problems, so I think you should be fine. Just don't forget the and (shades and hat) to help keep the sun off.

While there is always plenty of room on the beach it is true that if you arrive late your selection could be less then what you want. We have always found a good spot but I would bring whatever you think you might need - just to be sure. A sunburned baby is no fun for anyone and could be dangerous.

Question for those arriving to Barcelona before the 17th. Do any of you have a recommendation on excorted tours of the city? We come in on the 14th and have scheduled the Monserrat tour on the 17th and Girona on the 18th with some of you but are wondering about the other 3 days. So any suggestions would be appreciated. Val

I just got the Traveler's cheque from a local bank. I paid a small fee (4 bucks or something?). Yes, DCL will exchange dollars to euros but won't do cash advances from credit cards.

Sarah - I have been saving mine off to a text file. at the bottom of the PM page there is a button to Download all Private Messages as:

I select text and save them. That way I can keep a clear PM box and still have the history if I need it.

There are beach umbrellas with each set of chairs - and while getting off early willget you a better spot, I haven't seen anyone get off and not be able to find an umbrella.


So, I have just returned from the 2nd of three dental visits for the crowns. Next visit is an easy one to just replace the temps with permanent ones. I am so looking forward to a mouth that doesn't hurt... I am leaving the implant that I will need for next year so that insurance will cover it. There is a place here that advertises that you can go in in the morning and come out with the implant completed. I will have to look into that as this three appointment stuff drives me nuts. My dentist is nice, and I like her, but not enough to keep wanting to go back!

DH took the kids away for the afternoon and dinner (yay! swimming with my mom at my sister's house). and I have been alternating between lounging around on the computer and putting away laundry and diverting items to my "Might Pack" pile. I also picked up my two dresses I recently purchases and so got to throw them in the pile also.

Did my mom Tru tell you her news? She sold her house last week, then bought a new one the next day! It is about 15 houses and around the block from us, which is terrific. It's a nice house with a terrific yard (she's a gardener). Crazy bird she is, she closes on the house 9 days before she leaves for her ABD trip Knights and Lights and our cruise! Actually, the timing is quite good because she can pack like crazy, move, have a week or so to arrange the kitchen, bathroom and her room, then jet off to Europe to de-stress. Coming home, she'll be in her new place, and this next chapter of her life will begin! Currently she lives 90 minutes away from me and 2 hours from my sister. We don't get to see her enough. So wish her loads of energy and big hugs (this was my mom and dad's dream house that they bought and did up together, and he died just a few years ago, love of her life he was.)

Excuse me if she already posted this news. I read everything and retain some things!

Hey Sarah - we are cat 11 GTY too - if we get a better upgrade than you we can switch so long as you aren't farther than we would be from our other room. Our primary goal is closeness to our cat 5 room - the room amenities are secondary to location.
