I started off wanting Holland to win, but they were playing rather brutishly, so went towards Spain. However, I really wasn't too worried, but, well done Spain, best team won.

we where not playing what we normally do, but then we also failed whit good playing.

Sorry Connie, you must be so disappointed! :sad1: It wasn't the match we'd been hoping for at all was it? Must say I've been pretty disappointed with the World Cup this year :sad2:

....still, now back to the cruise!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

(oh and Sarah......

GET OFF EBAY!!!

:littleangel:

Stephanie and I headed off to Baltimore so very excited to see our friends that we have known for a long time that post on the DDA thread. We were also looking forward to meeting Becky's brother. We went to a really big mall for some shopping first. We hit the Disney Store and I found some great buys. Had to pick up a birthday gift for one of the other grandsons as well as gifts for the newborn and his two brothers. Then I went and tried on some new sneakers that are supposed to help in exercise. They felt weird but I know I need a new pair so I bought them. That is my story and I am sticking to it!!!:lmao:

On the way down, we used my GPS and I kept telling Stephanie that if she tells us to turn right but stay left, we gotta do what Rhonda says. (DH and I had to give her a name.) Well, she was a little frustrating today cause if the exit had an A or B she would say both letters and it seemed to take us around the Baltimore airport instead of a more straight route. At least she didn't have to 'recalculate' once :lmao:

So on the way home, we used Stephanie's I-phone. Hers gave a more direct route but at every exit would tell us to stay left and did not give enough warning to get over to take a certain exit. Hers also lets her know if she is going over the speed limit by a certain amount. So every 5 miles or so, you could hear Stephanie telling her phone to 'shut up':rotfl:

So since I live in a very rural location, her gps kept trying to get us back on the right track when I knew exactly where we were going. It got so frustrated that as we were turning onto the road going up to my street, the system said.................

"Please turn,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,(pregnant pause)..........soon :lmao::lmao:

I literally thought I was gonna pee my pants.

We really had a grand time and hated to leave.

Let me just add one thing... I had asked my GPS to take me home. Now if we had gone up the hill and over the Pike, it wouldn't have gotten confused because I really do have to pass Terry's home to get to mine. HOWEVER, Miss I've-lived-here-forever decided to take me over the river and through the woods Oh so literally. Woods, like trees and streams and hills.... and my poor GPS just gave up. I almost ran off the road we were laughing so hard.

Please turn.... at least 4 beats... soon. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I will never forget that. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Cool! And VERY GOOD concerning the soccer part...

I also wanted Holland to win.
But my feelings PLUS octupus Paul were right AGAIN. Isn't that animal amazing?
Have you heard of him?
]

Yes, i heard off him and we don't like the octupus.
But my feelings were not good but you always have hope.
But i'm still proud and what they have done, and on tuesday they will go to our queen.

Sounds like a fun day, cruise days are always fun days! I have the spare bedroom taken over by cruise 'stuff', DH and the kids have started calling it the 'cruise room' :rotfl:
Good luck with the swimsuit and pirate costume :thumbsup2

I envy you having the room to put your cruise stuff; we are pretty packed in here since we have one daughter living at home and a DGD2 who lives here 4 days out of 7.

'Footy' is short for football. Not soccer, as we call that 'soccer'. Our 'footy' is the Australian Football League or Aussie Rules. Similar to Rugby League. That's about all I can tell you, cause I don't watch it, DH watches while I DIS!!! ;)

Thanks for the explanation. Chalk it up to another transoceanic translation ;) .

I'll be the one that looks like a sausage bursting out of her clothes by the end of the cruise! :lmao:

You will not be alone! I'll be right there w/you :rotfl: .

Hmmmm, elasticated waists, or drawstring.......must start looking for them!
I like your plan, except.......I will do your second week plan on week 1 and 2 :lmao::lmao::lmao:

'K, here's another one of those: we say "elasticized."

Sounds like a plan....Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!

I hope I'm around to hear that!

ELIN!!! I'm friends with her over on the Bendy thread!!!

Elin was telling us that a few of her friends are going on this cruise and we were so eager to meet you

Actually there is someone else that lives near her and is also taking the cruise!!

It's me; it's me!! Love Elin. We do lovely brunches whenever possible.

How does one know what rotation they have? :confused3

You won't find out until you get your Key to the World card when you board.

And (no offense to smokers) on these long cruises, they have to refuel at places AND there is NO SMOKING during the refueling which takes most of the day - I actually was up on deck 10 during a refueling and this guy was up there smoking and I told him he could not smoke and why - and he said - oh so that is why none of the ashtrays are out! I am not a smoker and smoke bothers me but there are places Disney says they can smoke so that is fine - but I just did not want to see the boat blow up!

Krisann

I especially don't like having smokers in the cabin upwind of us.

We have reservations in Italy at EPCOT for our anniversary and that dinner alone will likely pay for 2 days of DDP for us. We find it a good value, for us, because we love to do a sit down dinner when at WDW. :goodvibes But then, we generally enjoy eating. :sad1:

We practically plan our days at WDW around our meals :lmao: and yes, I make our restaurant ressies 6 months out. The last several times we've done WDW we've gotten the DDP. Everyone is different, but it's worth it to us. We use our snack credits to pick up fruit salads and eat them for breakfast the next day. There is no earthly way I could have done the DDP when it included the appetizer, though! I just wish they'd let you choose between appetizer and dessert.

Sorry Connie, you must be so disappointed! :sad1: It wasn't the match we'd been hoping for at all was it? Must say I've been pretty disappointed with the World Cup this year :sad2:

Yes, me to i haven't seen any real good football. Normally the dutchplayers play a good game but not this world cup. But we three weeks fun in orange and tuesday they will have a party.

Thought I would post this incase anyone else was interested. I have sent it off to the concierge to confirm, and hope to hear back tomorrow - and I will modify for any changes.

diningasofJuly11.jpg

Have we gotten confirmation on the meal plans/themes that were listed in the navigator as well? That would be another piece of information that would be good to confirm. For example, that the rotation meals aren't the 1st three nights. (I thought I was safe booking Palo on night 4!)

I now i'm not going to :confused3Barcelona

Being from Canada, I didn't have a horse in the (World Cup) race - I was neutral, and hoping to see a good game. The Bronze medal match was much more entertaining.

But, having said that, I think the Netherlands was robbed by the referee when the Dutch striker broke away and the Spanish defender with long hair did everything but hit him with a lead pipe to slow him down, yet the referee didn't call a foul.

As one of the commentators on our feed said, the referee and his whistle was the most active man on the pitch! :sad2:

Sorry, Connie.

Totally Angelic (Sarah):

FYI--Tried to PM you info about linking Late Night Dining but your PM box is full.

Andrea

We had a Disney transfer in May and the Coach did a mini tour around Barcelona first. There were quite a few sites that he visited. You cannot get out of the coach though. ]

ohhhh that would be nice - I don't want to get out - just kinda see a little bit about barcelona

Too bad it isn't easier to go and meet people at the airport - or we could come and meet you guys! Unfortunately you would have to come out of the secure area, and that is then a pain...

Well actually for us it is not too bad because we are Elite members and get to go through the quicker line :) - we are in atlanta for FIVE hours - well 4 if you count they let you get on the plane one hour before for international flights.

Thanks for the info. I think cold fish balls would make DS12 , even with the dramamine I'll be giving him! I'm going to have to check what restaurants are at the Atlanta airport where we have our layover before the redeye flight so I can see what food I might be able to buy for him for dinner, just in case. Maybe they will have an Arby's, the only fast food place I've found so far where I can order him a gluten-free dairy-free main item: plain roast beef (no bun), which he loves!

I do believe the last time I went through atlanta there was an Arby's I saw! now i do not remember which terminal - we were flying Delta and had to ride the "train" to another place to catch a smaller plane so I do not remember where we saw it.

Here you go:

not sure if that helps any but there is one there!

I'm also eyeballing about 5 tiaras on eBay. I went to Claire's and Icing as someone suggested, but I wasn't very excited about them, plus they fit me terribly. That's what I get for trying on a $130 tiara at a bridal salon first! So I'm tempted to buy more than one on eBay because of my fear of it not feeling good on my head. Oh yea...I'm also watching 3 necklaces to go with the new formal, two of which include red rhinestones. This girl just can't make up her mind!

I just got back from Claire's and did find one for each me and my daughter - but it took me ahwile to find the "adult" ones - I first found the kids ones which were like $6.50 each - and they did not fit my head right - but then I found the adult ones - and they were around $15 each - got 2 different ones and while I have seen prettier ones - they will do for the cruise - crowns are really hard to pack and i don't want something that will freak me out if it gets broken in the suitcase!

Oh good! I'm glad you found some that are to your liking! I first went to Icing to look at the adult tiaras, and as you said, they were around $15. I tried on 2 that were satisfactory for their simple purpose, but they just didn't fit me right. The combs may have been the culprit. :confused3 My hair is rather thin and thinning, so it's not easy to keep hair accessories on my head. I didn't want to bend it too much and end up paying for it, so I figured since eBay had some in the same price range (even with S&H), I would rather get one that I liked more. I'm still thankful someone suggested it, because I never make it into those stores and would not have thought they were so easily out on the market!

I may end up with a pink feather and pink plastic gems, too! I am wearing black and white, so I could make it work! :rotfl:

For those with little girls - the price of the ones for kids was great - and they were metal - I am just not in the mood to look any further - too much to do for the cruise - I went, found and bought :) I do not do a lot of ebay - some but not a lot and it will hurt my head - glad you found some there you like - know I will not be bidding against you :)

our 2 tiarria's and my formal dress are now packed in their packing cube and in a suitecase!

The atlanata airport has a lot to offer! Not sure what terminal you are flying into but here is some stuff that might help you!

Here is a link to that ATL website. http://www.atlanta-airport.com/default.aspx Once there, there is a terminal map link on the left. (It shares a box with the filght info). You can choose by terminal. International terminal is Terminal E.

This is a link to a pdf of what is what by name. http://www.atlanta-airport.com/docs/terminal/amenities.pdf

Thanks! I had found the website and saw there were Arby's but I didn't know which terminal was international. It looks like he'll be having Arby's for dinner and corn chex for breakfast.

I am looking for dresses for specific evenings. I would like a black and white one for Animators, purple one for villains, caribbean colours for Parrot Cay etc
I also need a dress for our evening in Barcelona, and I still need another formal. Then that should be all the dresses sorted before I start on the shoes.

And how much luggage are you bringing?

Hey All,

Was offline all day working on cruise projects----lanyards, sewing our new fish extender, making some FE gifts, vests/ties, etc. Now trying to catch up with the 15 pages behid I am! LOL

Do you know how to make a bow tie?

Yes I do...I was making bowties all day today...with disney princesses, the little mermaid and tinkerbell :)

Good evening!

Had a good day: purchased our seats for the plane ride to BCN, and picked up some little bits and bobs, and a new book, for the cruise. Last night I made my packing list (!) and my To Do List (!!!)

I am reading the Outlander series and enjoyin' it so! I bought books 2-6 today - hope to have one or two left for the cruise at least!

I wanted to post an excerpt from a radio show on CBC this morning that featured a waterbirth of one of my clients. It is archived on the CBC website and on iTunes. The show today was called The Bottom Line. This is 2 minutes of her birth (from May) from the one hour show on the human relationship to water. I just thought I would share:

....some people just should not breed!

I second that :goodvibes
We finally reached another milestone .......

WE HAVE ONLY 10 WEEKS TO GO UNTIL WE ARE ON THE DISNEY MAGIC !!!

Now it's time to get REALLY excited !!!!!!

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

As was pointed out to me in a PM by a cruisemate, I haven't been around much. Once the summer hits I get busy at my fulltime job, and plus teaching diving on my days off doesn't help. I just spent a couple days trying to catch up. Everyone has been busy on the board. Looks like plans are coming together well. I promise I'll try to keep up with everyone.:goodvibes If not it is less then 10 weeks before we get to meet.:cool1::cool1:

Jon

As I am starting to pack my suitcases I am reminded once again to make a list of EVERYTHING you put into the suitcase. If a suitcase goes missing you need this to know what is missing and get replacement - we thought we remembered everything but when the missing bag actually arrived - we had forgotten many things!

Just an FYI with all the talk of lists

Krisann

It's low-carbs so no pasta's, french fries, bread, and that kind of stuff.
You can eat fat things hambrurger whitout the bread. They sell shakes, and chocolate snacks i think they're great.

But you will do shakes and the other things from atkins 3 times a day, but you also can eat the good things as meat, salad, lot off eggs and fish.

There's a site from atkins where you read how it works. If you can not find it send me a PM.

Connie

Thanks Connie. I will check it out.
