Dennis and I went to the mall today and did a bit of cruise shopping. :dance3: I got 4 dresses, one for each formal night and one for semi and one to wear cruise casual nights and in Barcelona to dinner on Thursday night. Dennis got several shirts, a pair of black dockers and a pair of shorts. We are set and got some great buys! One of my formal night outfits is a very pretty red skirt and jacket - knee length - and it was only $15! Woot! The floor lenght formal was only $45. Love those clearance racks!! :dance3:

WOW, It was so quite yesterday and now today you guys took off. Hope I did not miss anything when I skimmed a few pages.

The candy swap. I got the candy I wanted. It is not a mini, but it is also not a full size bar. I hope that is ok? Now are we meeting to exchange or dropping off at their cabins?

Got to watch the world cup today, very exciting moments. It has been a few years since my son played and I think I forgot how exciting it can be. I am jumping up and down out of my chair trying to make the shots for them and Dh is telling them to take the shot. I think my Dgd was a little shocked at our behavior. Next thing I know she is up yelling and trying to make the shots. Wish she would have showed that much excitement a few months ago when she was in soccer camp. :thumbsup2 Do you think they will still be partying in Barcelona when we get there?

Well it is getting late. Work tomorrow and a very busy week coming up. Have to run around after work and help my Dgd (the 14 year old) get the rest of her supplies for volleyball camp at Virginia Tech. She has never done an overnight away from home. She will be there for 4 days. Fingers crossed it goes well. She is very excited. Her daddy and over protective grandpa (my Dh) are driving her there.

Then I have to get my son to therapy (he cannot drive for at least another week) and pick up the forms for the school because a decision has been made for Dgd (4) to attend pre-school. She wants to read so badly and Dh no longer has the time to devote to her as he had before. Besides, she needs to interact with over 4 year old divas, Clearly she thinks she is in charge here. She definately is the queen in waiting.:worship:

I have to share this. Dh has been home schooling the grandkids. However, he is very unorthdoxed. Now his degrees are in physicis so that may explain his approach. He has taught them their numbers and colors (before the age of 2) with the pool balls. He has them sit in the middle of the pool table (billards table) and they roll them back and forth to each other by color, number ect. Really, why couldn't he just use the library of books we have?

Enough already, go to bed... Okay I see my alter ego is making demands, so off to bed I go.

I hadn't even thought about that, good point. I am in 4 groups because there are 4 of us, so thought we could share the candy / chocs. Is anyone else doing this or do I need to buy some more variety? I am bringing Caramello Koala's http://www.cadbury.com.au/products/pre-teens-confectionery/caramello-koala.aspx

True, something to suck on works, or a drink to swallow is good also, they advise you to feed babies their bottles. Good one Paula! :thumbsup2

I hope you are in my group that looks awesome.. I adore chocolate..

Question - what are people doing about the Candy exchange if you have 1 person in 2 of your groups? Are you giving 2 of the same bar or 2 different or 1 bar?

We are in three groups and are taking 3 different types of chocolate bars. Moro, Moro Gold and Pinkys (for anyone interested ;) ) - hope I got that right - I did dither over it a little.

I think Tony and I are both giving something different ... still don't know what though. Trying to think of something which US / AUS / NZ / Eropeans won't have seen before. May have to be M&S or Thorntons.

I've not heard of Thorntons so thats new to us.

This page on Wikipedia lists chocolates that are unique to various countries.

Paula, my dd is vegan and on our last flight to the US we asked for a special meal.....she got a banana and a yoghurt!!!!! (made with dairy of course)....good job we'd taken food with us for her!!!!:rolleyes1

I've missed my meal completely a few times - luckily only on a short haul flight. I did get served something once that I couldn't actually identify as animal/vegetable or mineral. It was something grey in a sandwich

Dennis and I will also be giving something different. His favorite is Snickers, so that will be his gift. I'm thinking Reeses Peanut Butter Cups maybe or Mounds or Almond Joy.

I :lovestruc these. Haven't tried Mounds or Almond Joys. Love Snickers too - we can get those here though ;)

Somebody get me off of Ebay .... I just bought another 2 dresses

Maybe you can find others who wear the same dress size and give your surplus as FE gifts? :rotfl:

As I am starting to pack my suitcases I am reminded once again to make a list of EVERYTHING you put into the suitcase. If a suitcase goes missing you need this to know what is missing and get replacement - we thought we remembered everything but when the missing bag actually arrived - we had forgotten many things!

Thats a great tip Krisann - I also do that as a matter of course and its paid off more than once - even just for a missing bag so they can identify it if need be. I also use a large plastic bag or a poncho/raincoat to line my suitcase. There was this one time (at band camp...) where my suitcase must have been left on a trolley in the rain and when I opened it, everything was soaked through. Luckily it was on my trip home and not my trip out.

The candy swap. I got the candy I wanted. It is not a mini, but it is also not a full size bar. I hope that is ok? Now are we meeting to exchange or dropping off at their cabins?

The vote originally was for FEs and I think everyone playing will have a FE so people can probably also do the drop at the same time as their gifts.

And how much luggage are you bringing?

Only 2 cases ( 20kg each ) . Will be wearing some outfits more than once and using laundry. I am also choosing lightweight dresses.

Totally Angelic (Sarah):

FYI--Tried to PM you info about linking Late Night Dining but your PM box is full.

Perhaps she needs to GET OFF EBAY and tend to her PM box! :lmao::rotfl2::surfweb:

Sounds like a great shopping trip and some great bargains ... my kind of shopping ( which is why I like Ebay and the thrill of nabbing a bargain) My most expensive Ebay dress so far has been £33 ( for a brand new Per Una RRP £55, so that makes me very happy :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 )

What are thorntons??

I've not heard of Thorntons so thats new to us.

Sounds like Thorntons may be the way to go .... and don't go checking it out on GOOGLE ... it should be a surprise !!!!

Yes, me to i haven't seen any real good football. Normally the dutchplayers play a good game but not this world cup. But we three weeks fun in orange and tuesday they will have a party.

Well we have nothing to be proud of with our team at all!!!!

Being from Canada, I didn't have a horse in the (World Cup) race - I was neutral, and hoping to see a good game. The Bronze medal match was much more entertaining.

But, having said that, I think the Netherlands was robbed by the referee when the Dutch striker broke away and the Spanish defender with long hair did everything but hit him with a lead pipe to slow him down, yet the referee didn't call a foul.

As one of the commentators on our feed said, the referee and his whistle was the most active man on the pitch! :sad2:

Sorry, Connie.

Well to be honest he could have sent at least 2 of the Holland team off, and really should have rather than just given yellow cards. I guess keeping them all on was fairer all round then!:lmao::lmao:

Hey All,

Was offline all day working on cruise projects----lanyards, sewing our new fish extender, making some FE gifts, vests/ties, etc. Now trying to catch up with the 15 pages behid I am! LOL

Yes I do...I was making bowties all day today...with disney princesses, the little mermaid and tinkerbell :)

I am so impressed with your skills.:thumbsup2 I'm really looking forward to seeing all your work.

Perhaps she needs to GET OFF EBAY and tend to her PM box! :lmao::rotfl2::surfweb:

After watching Titanic last evening one of my first jobs when I get in my cabin will be to work out the fastest route to the lifeboats :scared1::scared1:

I am hopefully getting by new computer today which will mean I can stop having to use DS's laptop, and more importantly I can start looking at making some door magnets. :woohoo:

Thought I would share some photos of some cute friends we have staying with us at the moment while their family is in Florida:

They are very cute - but huge! i've never seen one that big!

I so miss e-bay, we don't have it across here (dubai) however australia is another matter and this time next week i should be there...

Well i am finally making progress, fish extender gifts almost compete, pirate costumes 1/2 made, chocolates sampled and approved.... but the final chocolate purchase will have to wait (there is no way i can have chocolate in the house and not eat it)

i've been drooling over everyones chocolate choices... they all look great. i was trying to decide between australian chocolates and some dubai specialties. i'm thinking dubai specialties since there is a good chance no one has ever tried them before. :thumbsup2

so cute, do they sing to you?

Yes, i heard off him and we don't like the octupus.
But my feelings were not good but you always have hope.
But i'm still proud and what they have done, and on tuesday they will go to our queen.

You can be very proud!!! I also wanted Holland to win. Marc van Bommel and Arien Robben are two of my favorite players of Bayern Munich.
And believe me, we don't like Paul (the octopus) either.

Being from Canada, I didn't have a horse in the (World Cup) race - I was neutral, and hoping to see a good game. The Bronze medal match was much more entertaining.

Scaring myself a bit silly right now.:scared1: Watching a programme(recorded) on the building of the Queen Mary2 and all the extra difficult things they did in the design etc to be able to cross the Atlantic safely. Things like rogue waves are very real so they built the hull with extra thick steel, and put an extra wave barrier to push the wave back off the front so it wouldn't damage it!!! Plus wave heights have got higher as hurricanes have got bigger, and I don't want to know!!!

I'm hoping the more southern route we take might be less of a problem.

LOL! This is why I don't watch any of these programs! I have enough issues with Cruising with Stelleos and its issues!

Cruising with Stelios ... now that is an eye-opener! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

We are addicted to cruise shows on Travel Channel, just to check out the ships and the ports of call.
