I sure hope everyone is all better by the time we cruise.:sick:

Allow me a moment with my insurance horror story.:headache: My leg hurt all last week, so after I drove in pain to see my 94 y/o Dad on Father's Day I figured I needed to have it checked out. The xray showed something that the doctor wants a better look at so he ordered an MRI. The insurance company still has it in medical review. So he sent me for a Doppler to make sure it wasn't a blood clot. (it wasn't) He ordered pain meds which made me sick as a dog, so I'm in bed this nice sunny weekend!! :sad2::sad2::sad2:

I really wanted to start getting ready for the 5k. Currently I can barely make it upstairs to my bedroom. :guilty::guilty:

I cna't believe some of the trouble that people have with insurance companies... I guess we are expteemely lucky with what I have for me and the kids. Glenn hasn't had to use his yet, but I hope that his UHC policy is as good as mine... :)

Believe it not, the 2008 WBPC canal thread is still going. I think they are on part now 17 now after the new rules came into affect.

I remember there was a competition who could post the most but the EBPC won hands down.

WOW!!! That is a lot of parts... I am amazed that the meet threads keep going so long after the cruise. Although, I was on this moms list 14 years ago when pregnant with Stephen and we are still going strong with over 75 members. We hit max membership at 120 moms to be. We are a close group of friends that have never met. With all of us bound and determined to meet in 80 some odd days, I wonder how many lasting friendships will be made? Hmmm... Will be interesting to follow... If I can keep up...

I was amazed when Glenn told me about the left hand thing - and I was floored when he said that it woiul dmean re emgineering the phone... What a crock...

I used to have a blackberry - swapped to the iphone when the BB died. I have had god luck with mine, except that I can't seem to move my music frm my touch to the phone... So I am carrying both - which is fine as if we are out and Becca wants to play she can use the touch...

I am also looking at moving movies on to both for the flight over. I am hoping that we will all sleep but I don't think that we will as we are leaving at 6pm... But if a movie helps the kids chill out and sleep than so be it... Me, I am going to ask my doc for Ambien... :) Any other ideas? I hate to fly, so anything I can do to help myself relax and sleep would be appreciated. I am looking at a first class sleeper - just haven't found anyone that has used one, so I am hemming and hawing about getting it...

You can actually watch the bars disappear when you touch the phone on the lines in the antenna on the left side. I hope it is as simple as giving everyone the bumper. When everyone was busting up their tvs with the Wii, they made sleeves available everyone who had bought a Wii. :goodvibes

My doctor is giving me some anxiety pills for teh flight. I'll also be taking airsickness pills so I know I'll be sleeping. But I'm going to have my laptop and I'll toss a couple movies on that too just in case. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Sue, I am getting ready to order one to use for our drive down to visit our friends in WV in July. It is over a 5 hour drive down. I figure that will help me to test it to see if I like it. Then if it doesn't work, I still can send it back.

Is this the game versus Toronto? Have fun!! We will probably only add 10 or so pages while you are gone....:rotfl2::rotfl2:

As a Blue Jays fan, I can only say that Phillies fans have the best pitcher in baseball to back. We hated to lose him, but wanted him to go, because we all truly believe he deserves a World Series ring, and that the Phillies can help him get it (and Vice-Versa!)

You know everyone in Toronto will be rooting for the Phillies ( and our Aussie friends can make of that what they will!)

GO PHILLIES! :banana::banana::banana::hippie:

That sounds very fun! Jason and i will definitely be bringing some games, too. The only Disney themed game we have is Disney Uno, though (we bought it on the ship during the Double Dip in 2008). We'll be bringing Bananagrams, travel boggle, taboo, buzz word for sure....we also have party games like scattegories, cranium, etc. and a few fun card games like Blink, Ziggity, Qwitch, Bandits, etc.

We love playing our Disney Uno - it is the one with the Tinkerbell holder and has special Tink Rules.

Doctor on board is pretty useless. DD had terrible pain in her leg. He said just rest, it must be sprain. Turned out she had a blood clot in her leg that by continuing to walk traveled into her lungs. When we got off the ship, she ended up first in emergency, then in the hospital for a week in Florida.

When we queried DCL about this, they were very unconcerned. Never did get an apology or any real reason why they did not take her pain seriously.

It seems they either over react or do not react enough! I can tell you though that I learned that - especially for children - they have a wide selection of meds (cough/cold/pain) down in the infirmary that they did not have up Treasure Ketch.

And I freak out when women who are pregnant talk about "lying" about how far along they are to go on the cruise - they really do not realize that they do not want to have a baby on the ship or have complications! They are no way equipped to handle that.

Now in their defense - they (the nurse's) did come very quickly when we called in the middle of the night. The nurses were really great. On the EBTA the Dr. we had on the cruise that we had the gallbladder issue was on secret deck 7 when we were - I asked my DH if he wanted to say hello to him and he said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - that is one person he would rather forget!

Welcome to Sea Rogues!

A few notes from our Baltic cruise.
We could only book a Palo dinner online but got brunch and afternoon tea when we boarded. I think we`ll just go for brunch next time.
Villains party - only saw one person dressed up.
I won`t stress about clothing for our WBTA. I bought a hoodie the first evening and lived in that. I did make an effort for dinner but I`ll take alot less in September. People looked smart but not overly dressed up on formal night.
Me and DD were thrilled to learn from Captain John that he lives 20 minutes away from us. IASWAA!

The only sad thing about our cruise was the big red faced women, wearing a daft expression who took my place in all the photo`s. Where did she come from?

I still have notes about packing fromthe EBTA - much less clothes! mix and match - wash clothes/send them out! I have certain things I like to wear and I tended to wear them everytime they were clean!

If you decided you simply can't live without one! feel free to PM me and i can pick you one up when i'm there in a couple of weeks, i can bring it on the cruise and you can give me the cash.

Oh i'm hoping to crash your games session too.... Me and ab's LOVE games... and i'm not the least bit competative

SW

Oh thank you for the offer = it is my daughter that really wants it - I know someone else offered too - I think I will take both of you up on it so I can have TWO of them. It doesn't matter what pin as long as it has the picture of Chip and Dale and the the names as "Tic/Tac"

And on the games - we plan on playing at different times - will decide and post - on the EBTA we met from 1 - 2 every day but it only allowed for short games as there was normally something for the adult education each day at 2.

I was going through some photos this afternoon and found this photo of me and my brother taken in October 1980 at Disneyland (our first visit).

When we get to Disneyland this October, it will be within a few days of being 30 years ago.

I know, my DH thinks I have let my whole life slide for DIS, I'll having to start coming on in secret.

I know; DH is like, "You're on the DIS again?!?" But he loves all the info I find out and the great people I "meet."

I think Con and Noel were talking about having our own pins made, that would be very cool!
I like that, settled, I will have to use that :thumbsup2

It does sound like a great idea.

Congratulations. My DH and I have been married for 11 tears and I hope we will be celebrating out 25th and 40th anniversary's on DCL cruises.

I hope you get to, too :thumbsup2 .

Great idea, One problem, my whites would come out pink or grey, and my blacks would come out with white towel lint all over them.

:rotfl2: Yeah, not to mention 2 sizes smaller :rotfl: .

What unit was he with? I just got back to Stafford from my trip to Camp Lejeune, NC and Chicago. I work at Quantico when I'm not traveling. I assume it's a private after hours dinner, since the National Museum of the Marine Corps normally closes at 5.

He was with the 1st Marine Air Wing (served as a jet mechanic; still thinks the smell of jet fuel is better than perfume). And yes, it is a private affair. We'll be having a catered dinner and a private tour of the museum. It should be wonderful. He'll be seeing guys he hasn't seen in about 40 years!

Toy Story 3 was great, if you have not seen it I highly recommend it.

I'm hoping we get to see it on board the Magic. Please, please, please.

No wonder you need three checked bags! After all, you have to pack a few clothes in with the matching ties, vests, lanyards, games and name tags. You two are super!!!!!

I can't wait to meet you.

I totally agree!

Still have pain. It not constant pain just when I use it and after. Also having some swelling. I had another MRI last Wednesday. I going to get the result on Monday

Stephen

I truly hope they find out what the problem is and take care of it for you. Chronic pain is no joke.

We'll also have an anniversary (10/1) on this cruise--33 years! I was a child bride...

It will also be my husband Greg's 55th Birthday on 9/20.

And "hi" to all our Virginia neighbors!

Andrea

Happy Anniversary and Birthday!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 13th anniversary on the 9/20! Hope they have enough champaign on the ship for all of these celebrations![/QUOTE]

We really have a boatload (pun intended) of great things to celebrate on this cruise. Can't wait.

:welcome: sea rogues!

OK, we need some serious pixie dust for everyone who is not feeling well. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Oh boy, I hope I can talk my dr into letting me have some chill pills. I don't like flying at best, but for 8 or 9 hours?? Eeeeek!

Futurist (and any other baseball fans out there), I hope we can still be friends....LET'S GO, METS!

And this is in the game line (and may sound pretty crazy to some of you), but are there any MahJongg players out there? I love to play and I'd bring some cards (tiles are too heavy) if there's anyone to play with (fingers are crossed).

What a wonderful photo! So cute...

Camarillo was very nice to my DD and the rest of the family. Got all kinds of birthday gifts, anniversary gifts and even some school shoes down. Now to go back alone and shop for me.

Glad you had a good time shopping! I was there this afternoon getting school shoes for the kids. We saw Toy Story 3 next door and then went shopping. It's hard to plan "back to school" for the kids when we have a cruise to plan for at the same time. (Our kids will be back in school for 1 week, then off for 1 month as we are doing the back 2 back). Yes, it will be nice for you to go back and shop by yourself...much more relaxing!

I was on the EBPC that was going super-fast and I did almost give up. Just couldn't keep up with the rest of my life if I kept up with the thread. But then I regretted it once I got on board because I wish I had taken more time to get to know everyone. (Hence the effort now!!)

You are completely right! I was on the EBPC, and had been reading the Disboards for almost a year, but was too intimidated to join in on the discussion. I wish I had because once on board I regretted it. Even so...I have been reading this thread "off and on" since we booked our trip a year and a half ago, and just recently joined. I guess I didn't learn from my mistake.

Who is organizing the private tour of Barcelona on Thursday? Where is it leaving from and where is it going to?
....I made arrangements for 11 of us on Thursday...I would love to have you and Kimmy join us, but we would be over the capacity. :sad2: ....

My apologies, Becky! I was looking at the FE groups, and noticed that I mistakened your screen name for someone else! I'm on track now. You are traveling with Stephen! LOL

That's just fantastic! I love it!! You're just adorable, too!
Although the cart may not be there today, you should try to find the exact location (I assume Main Street) and get your picture taken again!

Sue, I am getting ready to order one to use for our drive down to visit our friends in WV in July. It is over a 5 hour drive down. I figure that will help me to test it to see if I like it. Then if it doesn't work, I still can send it back.

Just got back from WV - where are you headed to? I get real homesick for WV - I miss my mountains.

I remember there was a competition who could post the most but the EBPC won hands down.

I went back and looked - we had a total of 15 pre-cruise threads and I think we are on part 17 for post-cruise - and still going strong - I only check in every now and then - it is like visiting with family - everyone always welcomes you back with open arms - some live there all the time and others just pop in every now and then to visit :)

I hope you have a great time!

I was with 1st MAW from 93 to 96 (I also did 6 month deployments to 1st MAW in 84 and 85/86).

I love the smell of jet fuel too!

How about this for coincidences? My SIL is really excited about her son's wedding on July 9th. She describes her dress to me on FB and sends me a picture. For about the 5th time we have been at the same type event, she has picked the same thing. She picked the exact dress and the same color I was going to wear to the wedding.

The last time this happened was her son's graduation where we showed up in the same dress. This time, I am going to wear a different dress. I am SO glad she emailed me a picture of the dress! I know she told me her dress was one of a kind but oh, well...

Our friends live in Arbovale right next to Green Bank. They really live up the holler too!!!! I just love it when we go there. I go into relax mode as soon as I get in the car. They have three Golden Retrievers, one cat and a bunch of Guniea Hens. They used to use the downstairs as a bed & breakfast for hunters but gave that up. She is an excellent cook and when we go there, we usually do one meal for them. Of course the guys try to settle the world problems one evening over a bottle of good Scotch!!!

What an awesome gift and soooo creative. SIGH - your one of those so creative and ingenius crafty people aren't you Kimberly? That particular gene skipped me. :p
I'm not sure they're so bothered over here to be honest! :rolleyes1
I think its the title, the height and more importanly, the accent. US girls are suckers for accents. (OK some of us are) ;)

DH is finally taking me out for dinner to celebrate 41 years of marriage that was back on June 7. We are going to a cute pub where our oldest son is displaying some of his photographs. can't wait

Congrats! My parents just celebrated 51 years on June 7th also. Hope you have fun.

Do you mean Capt. Thord?

See now, I like Cpt Thord - he's so much more personable that that other stodgy person. On the first PC I managed to take a shot of both Cpt's on the bridge trying to manuver into a lock, gave a copy to both Cpt's and Cpt Thord seem truly impressed and even sent me a hand-written note telling me thank you and that his kids would love to see that shot of him. I thought that was awfully nice of him. Stupid me ended up accidentally throwing away the note. I was so heartbroken.

Ha ha A pirate :cool1::cool1:

pirate:

LOOK! The CPT stole a pirate:

:lmao:

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN.....

Okay, for us newbies, what am I missing here??

:lmao::rotfl2: What the Cpt is leaving out was that by the end of the cruise, many more people than DIS-er's were saying that too. The Cpt would enter the dining room and bellow it out - and from all ends of the room, you would hear the response. Regular Cruisers would look at us like what the heck? But you know they were thinking what am I missing. Especially on pirate: night. BTW, get your pictures early as you will not be able to get near him for a while. Its not nice when the grown-ups beat out the little kids just to get near him. :rotfl2:

Its a Pirates greeting ....when we be pillaging & plundering are measly lil black hearts out ....Its like saying "Hey whats up" ...lol It started many years ago since the first POTC came out and Mr Gibbs and Captain Jack cheered at the bar in Tortuga ...Then on prior cruises it was something we salty Pirates yelled out to each other on the ship ...again a form of saying Hello ..... heres a video clip from At Worlds End where they do it again ...kind of like a Hello or Goodbye as it were ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SeNDzbFv2f8

so , there you go ....
TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!

pirate:

I was going to explain but your explanation is so much better. :rotfl2:

oh dear....sounds like me.....I'm not a morning person either :goodvibes

Those RBD games sure made for some great videos.

I bought Trevoy the Yoda shirt too, but for the opposite reason. LOL.

:rolleyes1 games....RBD :rolleyes1....OH yes...:rotfl:

Yes Kimmy - Trvoy and you will be a riot. :lmao:

Trying to figure out what my next step will be. My homeowner's insurance is not going to cover the loss of the hearing aid. They said it had to have been lost due to something happening to the house (break in, fire, earthquake, etc). I am now shopping for an a different insurance carrier and told them so, as I know many other companies do cover loss of personal property outside of te home.

Sorry about this - hope something opens up.

For those of you who have been to Gibraltar and Madeira before, are you aware of a place that you can purchase a postcard and stamp at that port-of-call and drop it off for delivery? When traveling to new, unique places, I like to send picturesque postcards back home so it documents the location as well as dates when we were there. Besides, it's always enjoyable to receive when it arrives and great for the scrapbook!

Kimberly, very easy to get postcards from ANY souvenir shop and the stamps are sold at a tobacco shop. There's mailboxes along the way and a drop box I believe at the terminal and other locations in town. I write myself a postcard at each port with the date, the weather and arrival time so that when I get it at home, I can picture it in my brain and I can relive the moment. :cloud9:

Small feet also come with my CTVC issues. But I've developed a bit of a shoe problem even so. I justify buying so many pairs of shoes because I say I never know when I'll find more that fit!! My latest pair I bought on line I have to share because they're the perfect traveling shoes. Bought at Onesole.com - they have snaps on the side of the shoe and tops that are interchangeable!! Go check them out and you'll all want some!! :cool1:

Kimmy? Now your just starting trouble. :rotfl2:

Since quite a few of you are posting how long you have been married, I thought I would share some news that I don't believe I have shared before. Joi and I got legally married in Washington DC on March 14 of this year with our grown children and our daughter-in-law as well as all of my family and a lot of friends in attendence. On March 15 we celebrated 23 years together. We would have had the ceremony on March 15, but it was too hard to get everyone there on a Monday. We are using this cruise as our belated honeymoon, if you can call it that afer 23 years.

Congratulations! :yay::yay::yay: 23 years together is wonderful and I'm so happy you were able to get married! One of my dear friends is gay and if or when he decides to get married, I will go anywhere to be there to support him! Personally I think it's silly that you can't just get married in any state, but that's neither here nor there...

Well guest got back from seeing toy story 3. I was a good movie. I was surprise that the theater only had 15 people in it. Maybe it was they showing it on 4 screens.

I also think that Disney is stalking me. On Friday on my way to work I see this
4736579243_11716816e2.jpg

It on the outskirts of Reading, pa. It a mile from my house. I going to see it every day. I think they want me to book more cruises.

Stephen

Where is this billboard? Is it on 422 by any chance?

Dave, my sister and I are going to an amusement park in Lancaster tomorrow to meet up with my other dear friend, her husband and their 2 year old daughter. She was a bridesmaid in the wedding and her daughter was my flower girl. I've never been there - it's called Dutch Wonderland and I can imagine it's no Disney, but it will be a fun day regardless. I am really excited to see them because even though they only live in Maryland, we don't get to see each other very often. It should be fun!!!

Check out Marshalls, Ross, T.J.Maxx or A.J. Wright, some of those stores are now carrying the same exact shoe for about 1/3 the price. Found some LA Gear ones - (same fit as FitFlop) for $20. (US) And they are comfortable. Wore them on my trip to DC for 12 hrs straight one time. Didn't hurt like other tennis shoes or "trainers" would have.

The outlets are fun, but not on the weekends. Its way too crowded. Cute shoes!!!

Outlet mall was almost empty for a Friday. Been there on a weekend - your right, mush hit them during the week. And as for shoes - yes in addition to being a Coach/Dooney & Bourke I'm also a shoe addict. (My original word was **'d out :lmao:) My next addiction meeting is scheduled for next month. :confused3

Thanks Chasity. It sounds like yours is definitely better out than in. Sounds like you went through a long period of pain and feeling awful. I think if I was consistently ill, I would take it out. I am pretty good *most* of the time.
It is good to know when the time comes when I have to take it out, there are positive experiences. Especially with the weight, I really battle with this! That reason alone is enough for me to take it out!
Decisions, decisions, It can wait till next year......
Thanks again, I really appreciate it. :flower3:

Yes, not sure if I posted, I thought I did but I can't find it - my experience (after waiting 1 full year with the intention of waiting more) after was "Why the heck did I wait so long?" I know now what my triggers are and avoid them. I can eat almonds, cashews but not a lot of peanuts. Salads which I love and can't go without eating one every day, will loosen the bowels a bit but then I'm ok and its worth it. Raw onions are a definiate no-no. Dairy has to be SUPER-LOW doses but cheese is alright. I have also NOT had an attack even remotely close since I've gotten operated on. I was under about 1 hr more than normal because the doc said I had various stones that were creating a back-up and he had some trouble getting them all out. He also said I was a disaster waiting to happen. DH got worried when I didn't come out of surgery in the promised time and thought something had happened. But the surgery time combined with my in-hospital recovery time (I'm a bad patient) made for me to be the 3rd one operated on and the last to leave that same evening. Mine was outpatient surgery.

What's important is to know what your triggers are, avoid them as best you can and take it slow. I didn't get staples but stitches and when I came home my furrkid missed me and took a flying leap onto my bed and I tell you, if I didn't know any better I'd of said that she aimed it perfectly, she didn't, I did pop a stitch but the scar isn't too bad. And she really felt bad after it from all the screaming DH did. I thought I was going to have to intervene. Poor baby. She wouldn't leave my left side for 4 hrs.

distant water colored memories, of the way we were...

Putting the microphone down now...:lmao:

:rolleyes1
♫ Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were..... ♫ :rolleyes1

Join in everybody......:rotfl2:

This board is totally addictive!! I don't even know you guys and your a bad influence on me! See this :surfweb: this is me this morning when I should be doing laundry, cutting grass, cleaning house, oh and I guess spending time with my family :rolleyes1. I'm just afraid I'm going to miss something if I don't check frequently.

:sad2: Another one bites the dust.......Wonder if her husband will get any dinner? :rotfl2:

My daughter leaves next Saturday for a 2 week mission trip in Samara, Russia.....She is using both of my big suitcases.....sooooo I cant pack until she gets back :headache:

Wow - tell her good luck. How'd the auction go? Did she get what she needed for her trip?

Doctor on board is pretty useless. DD had terrible pain in her leg. He said just rest, it must be sprain. Turned out she had a blood clot in her leg that by continuing to walk traveled into her lungs. When we got off the ship, she ended up first in emergency, then in the hospital for a week in Florida.

This does not bode well. Now I'm :scared1:. NOTE TO SELF: DO NOT TELL STEVE

Dutch Wonderland is really nice and the best place for little kids. You will have a lot of fun. That place is just 20 minutes from my house.!!!
