I don't know what it's like in the rest of the UK today bit here in Reading it's HOT!!!:woohoo:

Well in Reading, PA it was a little cooler today then the last couple days. Today it only got to 88. Compaired to last couple of days, Mid 90s and high humidity. It going to get hotter the next couple of days again.

I has my MRI on Wednesday. I still do have the results yet. I talk to the doctor today and do not have the results yet. I don't know if that a good thing or a bad thing. At lease i was not in pain this time at the MRI, because I was drug out of my mind. They gave me 2 high doses of xanax. Some on could have shot me and i would have not cared. I will share the results when i know.

Stephen

Trying to figure out what my next step will be. My homeowner's insurance is not going to cover the loss of the hearing aid. They said it had to have been lost due to something happening to the house (break in, fire, earthquake, etc). I am now shopping for an a different insurance carrier and told them so, as I know many other companies do cover loss of personal property outside of te home.

I would like to get DS a replacement before school starts, but with expenses tight due to the cruise, I don't know where the money is going to come from.

Wow you've had this pain for so long. I really hope they figure something out soon so you can get back to normal.

So sorry to hear you have not received a definitive answer but at least you have the drugs for pain for the moment. I can imagine that you feel pretty frustrated. Hope you get some answers soon. :thumbsup2

Bummer about the homeowners insurance. You pay big premiums and when you need the insurance they fight not to pay.

We had the same issue with car insurance last year when they raised rates on us for no reason. No tickets, accidents and we haven't moved. They claimed it was because DD was rear ended in 2005 by a COVERED driver. The insurance company was not out of pocket for a dime.

I shopped and found 3 times the coverage for 1/2 what they wanted to charge me. Needless to say, I changed all our policies including homeowners. Agent who we had for over 20 years was not happy. Too bad, he should have fought harder for us and not counted on a guaranteed sale.

Didn't you mention that DS was supposed to have them replaced? Won't your medical insurance cover replacement?

Sorry for the vent. You hit a hot button. I just get furious when I hear stuff like this with insurance companies.

Now that I have logistics addressed and for the most part excursions, I'm starting to think about more of the details.

For those of you who have been to Gibraltar and Madeira before, are you aware of a place that you can purchase a postcard and stamp at that port-of-call and drop it off for delivery? When traveling to new, unique places, I like to send picturesque postcards back home so it documents the location as well as dates when we were there. Besides, it's always enjoyable to receive when it arrives and great for the scrapbook!

Stephen - I hope your MRI results come back soon.

Sue - I hate when there is a dental problem - that is the worst! I hope you feel better.

Kimberly - when we got off the ship in Gibralter, you could mail your postcards right there. It was pretty convenient.

I am 5'3" and too heavy. My mother "smoked" three of us short. She was 5'7" and my dad was 6'1". Three of us that she smoked with during pregnancy are 5'3". The other two that she did not smoke with are 5'9 and 5'11. I blame my weight gain on the fact that a 6 foot woman is trying to get out.
My mom blamed it on her coffee drinking for me. I blame it on her being 5'2" and not looking for a 7' man!! :rotfl2:

I have the opposite issue. Being officially Curvalicious though VC (Vertically Challenged), I have small feet and can often wear a boys 3. I often find kids shoes fit my feet better as they are wider.
Small feet also come with my CTVC issues. But I've developed a bit of a shoe problem even so. I justify buying so many pairs of shoes because I say I never know when I'll find more that fit!! My latest pair I bought on line I have to share because they're the perfect traveling shoes. Bought at Onesole.com - they have snaps on the side of the shoe and tops that are interchangeable!! Go check them out and you'll all want some!! :cool1:

TAKE WHAT YOU CAN !!!!

GIVE NOTHING BACK!!

Those RBD games sure made for some great videos.

I bought Trevoy the Yoda shirt too, but for the opposite reason. LOL.
We'll have to get a picture of me and Trevoy in our matching shirts!! I'm already laughing about it!! :lmao::rotfl2:

My homeowner's insurance is not going to cover the loss of the hearing aid.
:scared1: Aigh!! Here's hoping something comes through for you!!

Unfortunately hearing aids are not covered under medical insurance either. All his visits and testing are covered but the devices are not. We had to come out of pocket completely for them. Fortunately my mom helped with them the first time around. And she offered to help this time as well. But she had already given me her motherly advice regarding this cruise and she doesn't think we should go. I still haven't told her that we are past the point of no return. Yes, I am a grown woman and still afraid of my mommy.

Sorry to hear about your issues with your son's hearing aids. I don't know your situation but this link may be helpful in getting assistance to replace them.

What a great link! Thanks for posting it. He does have an IEP at school which requires them to provide an assitive device that works along with his hearing aids. So maybe I can push to get some assitance with the aids as well. Certainly worth a shot.

I cannot believe that medical insurance won't pay for hearing aids. How silly they will cover all the visits and tests but not for the hearing aid, that doesn't even make sense. :sad2:

Todd has a picture of Trevoy and Helen in their shirts. But dare I say it, a picture of you and him would have more of an impact. Kimmy you will be in for a shock, don't know if you saw when I posted his current stats, 6' 2", 225lbs.

Okay Corinna. You have me seriously considering one of the dresses that seller on eBay has (don't worry...it's not the same one you got!). My biggest hesitation (besides I shouldn't be spending the money right now) is that I do not like to be sleeveless because I'm not comfortable with my flabby arms! Otherwise, I think it would be flattering for my "curvaceous" body! I emailed them asking if they make matching wraps, but the response was they will make jacket, but they can't provide a picture. A wrap would be FAR easier than a jacket!

You're really pleased with the quality of the dress you got, right? I saw a couple of "neutral" feedbacks that spoke to that, however, I know you can't please everyone, too.

...,Kimberly - when we got off the ship in Gibralter, you could mail your postcards right there. It was pretty convenient.

Thanks! That's good to know. I'm sure I could find a postcard at a shop in town. Is that a place where you can buy the postage as well?

.....What a great idea!! Definitely stealing (pirating) this one! pirate:

Pirate away! Pirate away! pirate:

GIVE NOTHING BACK!

and HAD to buy a lovely summer maxi dress, and a pair of trousers for the cruise......:rolleyes1
Cruise shopping is the best shopping! I LOVE Maxi dresses ;)

I couldn't open the file. I use a pc, and nothing wants to open the file.
I use a mac, that may be why, I have converted the document into a PDF, try this http://www.4shared.com/document/0pdJh9bn/DCL_journal_PDF.html
If that doesn't work, PM me your E-mail address and I will send it to you. :thumbsup2

Quite excited as the swimming costume has arrived, and it fits!!!! Wow.

YAY, That is the thing on my list I just can't bring myself to shop for yet, Way too scary, those bright lights and big mirrors in the change room are just plain mean! :scared1:

I am definitely CURVALICIOUS! Right, DH? However, I am not vertically challenged - I'm 5'10. However I am shoe-challenged (which is worse!) My shoe size is 11 or 12. Try finding shoes easily for cheap with my size feet!

I like that, shoe challenged, I think we're all "challenged" somewhere! :upsidedow

Thanks to reading these boards, I just got the military discount for our WBTA!! Went from a cat 8 to cat 6 and saved $1360.00!!!
Sandy and Tom (yogitxtx)

Congratulations, That is fantastic! :)

May I weigh in on this as I have had my gallbladder removed?
One always needs to listen to ones body. I think you know the best thing for your body.

Just my thoughts....

Thanks for your input, I too didn't realise that so many of the little annoyances I have been living with were gallbladder related until the DR told me. I do have a really hard time losing weight, I train with a Personal trainer 3 times a week and I'm fairly active, I eat well most of the time, I am within the healthy BMI, but would like to lose about 15 kg's and it just won't come off. I watch what I eat, I know what will trigger me, so I just avoid certain things. It will have to come out eventually, I'm just trying to put it off because of the horror stories I keep hearing of people being worse after removal.
Thanks for sharing, your removal sounds like it definitely improved your life, I need to hear more of those stories! :flower3:

Kimberly, You are so creative! Love it! :thumbsup2
Everyone in Kimberly's FE group - She has done the coolest gift, Very creative and thoughtful!

DH is finally taking me out for dinner to celebrate 41 years of marriage that was back on June 7. We are going to a cute pub where our oldest son is displaying some of his photographs. can't wait

That is fantastic, 41 years, Have a wonderful time.

There's a company in Belguim and the Netherlands who makes them, but we must take 50 pins.
So i'm going to read the other pages and go off to Disney.
We should look into this, if there is still time, I know alot of us would love pins.
Have fun at Disneyland! :woohoo:

Well done Captain! pirate:

I am interested, hopefully others will post of their interest.

Me too! :yay:

In scotland, we call folk that do the lowly job skivies, like pot washers, or if say dads building a wall I will be his skivvy ie carry the bricks, make the tea and the like.

We call the workers or labourers Lacky's, this is the internet definition - Some dumba** you get to do all your dirty work.

Today I was running, and my leg was all good, I know you are all thinking, yeah right whatever but Im so excited that its finally getting better after a year of physio and faffing with it.
I'm glad you don't have to faffle with it anymore! :yay:

Today has been a rough day. Finally got to the dentist, and what I was expecting (root canal and crown) turned into 4 crowns and a fracture that went straight to the pulp of the tooth - so it was extracted, and I will need to go for an implant.
Sue, that sounds horrible, you poor thing, I hope your feeling better by the time you read this. That fracture sound awful! I just had 2 implants last month, I have a temporary protective denture over them at the moment, I won't get the permanent teeth until we get back from the cruise. I have to get 3 - 5 more yet. They are so expensive here too! I have paid just over $20 000 for 2 half finished implants and 1 porcelain bridge in the past 3 months!!! :scared1: Lots of jelly and ice-cream for you!

Yosemite is so beautiful. Yesterday we hiked the Panorama Trail (8.2 miles) from Glacier Point to the Yosemite Valley. We went past three waterfalls. Priceless.

Woody
Sound beautiful, Can't wait to go there one day. :thumbsup2

LOVE that outlet mall! We're just up and over the grade in Reseda. I am so tempted to take one last stab at the Tommy Bahama outlet before we leave; the only thing wrong with retirement is that the monthly take home is just a bit less than it was; there are times when being responsible is just no fun!

Michael
I adore TB candles, they smell devine

Putting it delicately, I just try to pull it to the side.....

That's what I do too! :rolleyes1

That suck's! Stupid insurance companies, they are so money hungry! Makes my blood boil! Good Luck! :goodvibes

You are welcome. Hopefully one of the organizations listed can help. One of my employees got hearings aids for his son through one of these organizations, but I can't remember which one. He is the one that suggested the web site to another employee this afternoon. Great timing and I guess it was meant for me to hear them talking. Things happen for a reason.
