If no one else is going to say it, I will! Are Chip & Dale stumbling with their nuts? ...and green? Glad they're not blue. That would be sad.

(Okay...Hope that didn't offend anyone.)
:rotfl2: no offense here...
It's just that Chip and Dale are Nut smuggling...

....the lanyards ARRIVED at my house on Tuesday! :cool1::cool1:

I'm pretty happy with them----the colors that the lanyard team all voted on anonymously turned out really great (and, actually, I should say I haven't even told the LANYARD TEAM members what the lanyards look like yet....gotta keep some surprises!! :thumbsup2). Also I decided on this trip, after some suggestions from team members and other cruisers to go with a slightly wider lanyard than I've usually ordered for cruises in the past. They're still pretty soft and comfortable but they're now wide enough for pin people to put their pins on! :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 Very Cool! And yes we are curious as to what the vote tally was. I guess we'll find out in about 12 weeks.

Jason and I will be doing laundry, too----and we're technically men ;) :lmao::lmao: (those of you who remember the tigger and tinker bell conversation of a couple weeks ago should get a chuckle out of that! :thumbsup2). We'll probably be playing games in the laundry room (or nearby) while we wait for our loads to get done!

:lmao: As long as you're not talking about spanx :rotfl:
Games sounds like a great idea to pass the time.

Also....I know this has been discussed before....but does anyone have ANY idea what the luggage limits for the flight from Orlando to Barcelona (booked through DCL) are likely to be? How many bags can we check for free, if any? Can we check extras at a cost? What is the cost for checking the bags? What is the weight in pounds that each bag can hold? How many carry-ons? What, if any, is the weight limit on carry-ons? (On our domestic flights from Rochester to Orlando and back we're not worried at all...we'll just pay the extra bag fees....but we're nervous about the flight across to Europe.)

Erik,

I know that Disney uses Delta quite often. The Delta luggage rules for economy to Europe are: first checked bag (up to 50 pounds) free. A second checked bag is $50 (online) or $55 (at the airport). If you happen to be a SkyMiles Medallion like me, you get two checked bags (up to 70 pounds each) for free. As far as carry-on, you get one carry-on bag (may not exceed 45 linear inches in combined length, width, and height and must fit easily in the Carry-on Baggage Check, approximately 22" x 14" x 9") and one personal item (briefcase, camera bag, laptop computer, etc.).

Hope this helps!

Nooooo.

This could be interesting!:thumbsup2

I am not a soccer fan either - but a few of us went to a local restaurant/bar (Taco Mac) to watch the game and then have lunch. The deal we had with our boss was if the US wins we could have a beer. If they lost, then we couldn't... We have the same deal for next week... :)

sounds good to me!

My Nana wore girdles until the day she died. She fell and broke her hip and begged the nurse not to cut it off. Sweet nurse waited until pain meds were in, and then gently took it off of her. She was 95 at that point. When she passed the funeral home was shocked that we provided one, but once we explained the situation they honored her wishes...

ah, thats a sweet story

When should we plan for our facebook withdrawl support group. Cause you know that by the time your farm loads you would have already spent 30 minutes of very expensive internet time. lol

will definitely need to join the FB withdrawal group.......even though I don't play farm/frontier/country games.......spend way too much time on FB :rolleyes1

Am I the only one who's just a little disturbed at the placement of the acorns in this picture? :confused3:rotfl2::lmao:

:rotfl2:

We are past PIF and cancellation date, so I think an upgrade would be unlikely. We were offered and accepted an upgrade at what we felt was a great rate, under $3K additional.

I don't think that htey list the OBC's online anywhere. Call DCL or your TA and ask. I am able to get that from DCL even though I have a TA, so I would start there.

Thanks, su_kraft! That helps quite a lot on both counts.

See you there!

Richard

My this is a chatty group today!! i am trying to stay caught up but you guys are making it tough. Good thing I am home today and can take time to read... Although I broke a tooth yesterday and have one heck of a throbbing toothache and headache right now...

Beachwood is a nice area (if I can't be home in Decatur, GA, that is). But what does it say about me that I have bartenders at most of the local restaurants that know me by name (& drink)?? :rotfl:

When we sailed 5 years ago we met Victor - he worked by the pool during the day, and took care of us - all 17 of us... He is from Chile... Well, he remember us by last name and sight and called out Welcome back when we boarded last year... What does that say about us??? No, don't tell me, I am not sure I want to know... LOL! :rotfl2:

Sad thing is that he moved to the wonder as he thought he would make more money on those trips versus the European cruises...

Out of town without computer. PM and Paypal sent for T-Shirts.

Thanks.

Walt & Di

Got it and PM sent.

Ummm...well....three glasses is better than a box of Little Debbie Oatmeal Pies!

If no one else is going to say it, I will! Are Chip & Dale stumbling with their nuts? ...and green? Glad they're not blue. That would be sad.

(Okay...Hope that didn't offend anyone.)

Not to mention that three glasses of wine may make you sleepy enough to forget about the Little Debbies that are in the kitchen... :lmao:

....the lanyards ARRIVED at my house on Tuesday!

:thumbsup2

How exciting!! Can't wait to see them!

We love pins as well! It will be great to be able to put them on the lanyards! Thanks, Erik!

Speaking of RV, we leave today for a week in Oregon. It has been WAY too long since we have taken it out on the road. So, I will likely be hundreds of pages behind next weekend, maybe even threads behind the way we are going. I don't think I will get online while we are gone. :scared1::surfweb:Withdrawal!!!!

PJ, Marilyn, Noel!!! Please PM anything important that I might need to see to me. TIA!!! Things like payments, etc.

We are pin people as well! Now I can leave the lanyards at home and just bring them in a zip bag!

have a great trip! Watch for part 7 - the way we are going, it wont be long now...

My nieces and nephews are quickly passing me by but I've trained them to not be so excited and bragging about it. They all know that they're only in my "favor" as long as they're shorter than me (which lasts through elementary school) so the older ones do a lot of squatting and hunching over when they're around. Makes me happy in pictures. :thumbsup2

Stephen is just a hair taller than me now and likes to rub it in...

Yes it was exciting....now once Jason gets home we jsut have to fiddle around with trying to pack all the lanyards and the name badges into his carry-on backpack (and the thing is the lanyards take up space but are light, the name badges take up less space but weigh a lot...GGRRRRRR :headache:). If we can't get them all in then I'm going to have to figure out a way to ship them to some of my lanyard team members in smaller clusters and have them carry them over in their carry-ons. So everyone cross your fingers that we can manage because I REALLY don't want to deal with the headache of splitting up the lanyards, etc.

(On our domestic flights from Rochester to Orlando and back we're not worried at all...we'll just pay the extra bag fees....but we're nervous about the flight across to Europe.)

Let me know if you need help getting lanyards over seas...

I would go with 50 lbs per person and one bag. I think that is what most of the US airlines allow.

Well, I've been lurking here for a few days trying to get caught up on what is going on and I've decided that's impossible, so I'm just going to jump in and try to figure out what you have been up to in the last million posts!

This will be our sixth cruise, so our first gold cruise:cool1:.
I'm (Andrea) traveling with DH (Michael), DS12 (Zachary) and DS10 (Adam). We are in room 5012. We are taking DCL air, so don't know our flight plans yet. Unfortunately, DH can't take any more days off work than he already is, so we plan on being a bit tired on 9/18 after what I'm sure will be a long day/night of travel. I think the excitement will help us out, though.

Right now, our cruise plans are

Gibraltar--City Under Seige 9AM
Madeira--Catamaran Whale and Dolphin Watching 9:45AM
St. Maarten--nothing. beach??
Tortola--Tour to Virgin Gorda 8:30 AM
Castaway--beach time

Not sure about Madeira. DH and I couldn't find any DCL tours we were really happy with and are still not sure about what we did pick. I've been trying to figure out whether to join your tour but not sure how kid friendly it is and it sounds like a really long day. We'd like something a little shorter.

WELCOME Aboard!! Page one of this thread for details! www.transatlanticpirates.com for roll call signup and other info.

Jason and I will be doing laundry, too----and we're technically men ;) :lmao::lmao: (those of you who remember the tigger and tinker bell conversation of a couple weeks ago should get a chuckle out of that! :thumbsup2). Have to chuhckel at this! Thanks for the giggle! I needed it!!!

Yes it does help...thanks! I've also been getting info (very similar) from another DISer who recently did the Med cruise with the Adventures by Disney add-on (which we are doing). Jason and I are going to start pulling together the things we have to pack this weekend, actually so we can prioritize what does and doesn't need to come.

It's so frustrating because you know you HAVE to bring pirate garb for a DCL cruise, but you only wear it once (or in our case, twice since we'll dress for both the Med and the WBTA probably)....GGRRRRR!!!!:headache:

they sound lovely thank you so much for all the hard work!:cool1:

Wow, I'm 5'2" and always went with "I gnaw gnees." Or is it "I knaw knees"? (Yes, and as DGD2 says, "silly grandma.")

I am also height challenged and now the shortest family member. But my DGD (age 12) now calls me "fun size".:rotfl2::rotfl2:[/QUOTE]

........from another height challenged 'fun size'.......:rotfl2::worship:

This sounds like me too......my nephew (at 17) is 6ft 8, and my nieces (15 and 19) are 5ft 11 and 5ft 10..........I am the short a** of my family at 5ft 3 and my dd (at 22) is just 5ft 1....her young cousins all tower over her!!! They all laugh when we're together....Elliott says he could pick my Becky up and put her in his pocket!:thumbsup2

Wicked sense of humour, tig82174! And was that an intentional double entendre in the last line about getting your loads done? Ouch! :rotfl:

Now, about that spin cycle....... :rolleyes1

Ok I now have the idea that there are going to be many of us vertically challenged, more 'rounded' curvy ladies on board.......:thumbsup2......we'll be like a liitle clan of our own!:rotfl::thumbsup2

:woohoo::woohoo:So glad I finally reached Delta Medallion last fall!! :worship:

Not to mention that three glasses of wine may make you sleepy enough to forget about the Little Debbies that are in the kitchen... :lmao:
Ooh, I make sure that wine and good beer are my only temptations in the kitchen when I'm dieting! Of course, the wine and good beer are probably the reason I'm dieting in the first place!! :rolleyes1

Ok I now have the idea that there are going to be many of us vertically challenged, more 'rounded' curvy ladies on board.......:thumbsup2......we'll be like a liitle clan of our own!:rotfl::thumbsup2
 Sounds like another reason to have a "get-together" on board!!

Well you could wear them :) No rule on what you wear. Might look kinds funny wearing a big envelope around you neck. It is amazing how many sweaters I have worn at once just to get under the luggage rule. :lmao:

I'm glad to see several of you are already happy with the decision to go with a wider and more pin-friendly lanyard. In the past I've always gotten the really thin one that is basically the size of a shoe-lace and just big enough for the lettering but a number of folks said they liked it better if they could put pins and decoration on their lanyard so I went with the 1/2 inch version this time....and, like I said, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. (And I actually think it makes the lettering a little bigger/more visible, too)

Sounds great can not wait.

Ok I have decided this board moves way to fast so now I read the posts backwards. The last page first and see how far I get. I figure if it is something funny or important people will quote it. Or if only a partial quote I can go and find it.

That is the only way I can keep up:)

Welcome Andrea. I am Noel and DH is John. This is our 4th DCL cruise.

DH and I are considering the City under Seige in Gibraltar but really want to see some other sights like the Pillars of Hercules and St Michael'sCave as well. We may end up doing Gibraltar on our own or another private tour.

As far as our Madeira tour, we have several other children joining us ages 15, 12, 10 and 3. If you have any specific concerns, please PM me.

If it still seems too long, you might want to contact tour operator directly and arrange your own tour like the HallsofVa did.

You are welcome to use my name to say I recommended you use their service. If you want to join our tour, just send me a PM.

That is sad and most probably very true. The Brits aren't known for their good tipping even when within the 'rules' and the rest of Europe have different tipping 'rules' too. Some countries probably don't even tip. We always go with the guidelines for the country we are in, even though sometimes it seems very wrong, but not everyone from here does.:sad2:

I will look out for him on our PC cruise in January.

Games? Games are good.

DH and I are considering the City under Seige but really want to see some other sights as well.

Noel, we're signed up for City Under Siege. I really wanted to go up as far as we can on the Rock.

Noel, we're signed up for City Under Siege. I really wanted to go up as far as we can on the Rock.

I am wondering how much time we will have to really go up the Rock on that tour. Does anyone know if the previous cruisers to Gibraltar had that same tour? I wonder if I should post on the main board?
