Thanks all, i will have a great time. Hug my favourit Chip and Dale after a drive of 5 hours. And the weather is great maybee a bit to hot. But the rollcoasters make everything okay.

I'm off to Disneyland Paris in a couple of weeks time for 4 days .... maybe i should just admit defeat now,

after taking 4 days away i'll miss about 50 pages and countless underwear themed conversation. :rotfl:

I know, I am going to Pitlochry next week for a week, I was going to get a card for the local library so I can go on the net and keep up but have since decided that I would never be away from the place, so I am going to nominate someone to pm me anything important..Cough (marilyn)

Connie,
are you talking about the same chip and dale as the earlier conversation
:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Sorry had to... Have a great time!

Some may remember that I posted the question about DisneyStore.com gift cards and how long it takes to receive them. I am SO happy to tell you that it arrived today...that's nearly 3 weeks! Whew. I was getting worried that a $300 GC was lost or stolen. I got the card to take to use towards OBC. I wanted to purchase it with a credit card that gave me cash back. I need to do it again, too. I didn't get a higher amount the first time because of my concern that it would be lost. I have to admit I love the selection of graphics to choose from for the card.

Glad it turned up Kimberley!:thumbsup2

Anyone seen the great new links at the bottom left of the post box, you can FB, tweet or e-mail a post to those who are away!

I send important posts to myself all the time and then copy and paste into my cruise journal.

You know you realy should, it's perfect for a little dose of Disney Magic, it doesn't have to be that expensive, and i can enjoy breakfast at home and lunch in DLP, it really is that close....

YEAH! I love pins!! I even have a pin of Capt. Tom that I will wear as a "memorial" because he has been on all our cruises except this one!

Somewhere in my bottomless pit of a house, I have that pin - sillver metal with 3D feel to it. Came with the original metal back? Weren't they given out as a CC gift? Or did we have to buy them?

so far we have..................

Is this for a walk or run?

John picked up his new iPhone 4 this morning. Well it was this afternoon actually after he had queued for 5 hours!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Try getting him to queue for 30 minutes for a Disney ride!!!!!:rotfl:

We just came from the Brea Mall, saw a queue line that was in front of Victoria's Secret and just assumed it was for their bra sale (hey! Ladies out here in CA are  for Vickie's stuff. ;) Anyway, took us a 3rd time of hearing clapping and whisltes to realize it wasn't for bras (DD thought they may have been having a fashion show until we realized that the line which was wrapped almost around the entire downstairs mall was for the new iphone4. Think I'll order mine online and wait for delivery. I'm not in that much of a hurry.

That is exactly what we call Goofy Granny - FUN SIZE! You can actually get a shirt that says that - I was thinking about it for her. I didn't even notice the quote was from Goofy Granny! Ha - you can tell it is early and getting ready to go to the airport. ahhhh!! At least we think alike!

Bought my DD a shirt from JcPenny (Jr's Dept) with this saying - I'm not short - I'm fun size. :rotfl2:

Also....I know this has been discussed before....but does anyone have ANY idea what the luggage limits for the flight from Orlando to Barcelona (booked through DCL) are likely to be? How many bags can we check for free, if any? Can we check extras at a cost? What is the cost for checking the bags? What is the weight in pounds that each bag can hold? How many carry-ons? What, if any, is the weight limit on carry-ons? (On our domestic flights from Rochester to Orlando and back we're not worried at all...we'll just pay the extra bag fees....but we're nervous about the flight across to Europe.)

OK great. Thanks for responding on here!! I'll put on the list that you're confirmed now and just wait to hear about room #'s.

Eric,

Just wanted to put 2 cents in - I have NOT booked with DCL airfare however, just returned from Spain, France and London in April and they (here and there) are pretty stringent. (School Tour) We were allowed 1 bag up to 50 #'s. $100 for 2nd bag and if you went over it was automatic $50 surcharge. And...they are like DCL, in other words, I was over 1/4 lb and the ticket agent let me take something out. However, the person following me in line had to pay $50 for going ove 2.5 lbs. Boy was she mad.

I know your asking for DCL but the generally the info is the same. The airlines are a lot worse than they were in 2009. 50#. Then from 51 # to 74 - its another $50 and anything after that you have to use ground/air shipping. They are stringent and even worse coming from there to here - good thing we aren't using them. I've noticed that from USA to there - they don't always count carry-ons, but from over there, they sometimes do - depends on who's watching. Once we got past security - you were pretty much free. Sorry - just putting my two sense.

Its whatever you want :thumbsup2 some walking, some running, some crawling:yay:

Regarding the homeschooling-esque port materials some of us were interested in pulling together to enrich the cruise educationally, anyone who is interested please PM me. I imagine pulling together a small packet of information on each port (maybe one port per person to keep it simple and easy) that would be easy to review with the kids to give them some cultural context etc. Ok, that sounds really dry - I don't want them to be - just fun and simple and informative.

PM me if interested in participating. :cool1:

I have already made a few journal pages for my kids, there are a couple about the ship and a fact page on each port. I am happy to share. I will add the link to my 4shared account, It is a small file and should only take less than 30 secs to download. :thumbsup2

Sorry to go of subject for a moment I know there is a whole board dedicated to Disneyland Paris, but well this cruise starts in europe ... and Paris is in europe.... OK tenuious link, Just humour me :)

I'll have to get you to persuade Mark first. :rolleyes1 How do you normally travel when you go? Train?

Yes the train is the way to go, a little over 2 hours from leaving London you’re pulling into the Disney Resort, or the centre of Paris. I know a few people are put off by the thought of the tunnel but it really is a breeze. You are only in it for 22 minutes or so, on the way back I normally sleep through it.

Paris is beautiful, for all you DISers who have grown up with a romanticised view of the city, due to TV and Films, I can confirm it really IS like that. It’s full of amazing little discoveries hidden courtyards, squares with wonderful fountains and quaint back streets with little cafes and bars.

The Disneyland Paris Resort is a gem too. The Disneyland Park is the most beautiful Magic Kingdom of them all, the attention to details and theming is just unreal, and, due to the benefit of more than 30 years experience and a huge budget, their versions of the classic Disney rides like Big Thunder Mountain, and Pirates are the best.

The neighbouring Walt Disney Studios park was built on a more “modest” scale and budget, and suffers from a lack of size, questionable layout, and depth of theming but it still has a few wonderful attractions and is a worthy, and more relaxing, day.

The resort is perfect for a short break with 3 or 4 nights you can comfortably see the best of Disney and maybe even a day in the city. The 6 themed Disney hotels are all located a short walk from the 2 theme parks which themselves are just a few hundred yards apart. meaning you can walk everywhere.

If you are on a tighter budget several good neighbour hotels offer more affordable lodging and are still very close to the parks making commuting easy.

It certainly is a different experience than the American Parks, but one that offers Europeans the chance to experience a flavour of Disney without the investment of time and money required to visit Walt Disney World or Disneyland.
