We had a Siberian Husky who also loved to run. He wasn't interested in running AWAY, just running! Sometimes if he slipped out or slipped his lead, he would run for hours - our biggest fear was that a gator might grab him while playing in one of the nearby lakes. We would drive around in DW's van and if we saw him, just opened the door; he'd run and jump in. If we didn't find him, he'd eventually just come back home and lay on the front porch until someone realised that he was there.

Wow! I would love to have a dog like that. Well, actually, our white one, Chloe - runs for about 100 ft and then poops out (we like to say that somewhere in her lineage - she crossed over to the wrong side of the tracks) although her paperwork claims she's full-bred - she can be let off leash. Isis - uh ah - you can see the wheels turning in her head. Course this is also the dog that sleeps on her own purple pillow. But I'm hoping that when she hits 10, she'll be able to be let off-leash. Doubt it but we've got 5 more years to train her if old-age doesn't set in sooner.

I found my trip report from the 2007 cruise.

Here is a link to the Magic fountains in Barcelona along with some others sites we have been discussing.

A link for Gibraltor. Sorry no prices. I will keep looking though.

I'll have to take the time to read through the whole thread. Just found my mom in the picture of the entrance to St Micheal's Cave. I am still amazed when I think of that day. My then 77 yr old mom hiked down the ENTIRE Rock of Gibraltar. We had round trip tickets on the cable car and had intended on catching it back down at the half way point. But then I wanted to see some of the siege tunnels. I offered to take the cable car down, but she insisted that I see what I wanted to see. We didn't realize how much more walking was going to be involved, but we ended up hiking all the way down and through town.

I just checked another site and it was 25 Euros per person which included the admission to St Michaels Cave and the tunnel.

I remembered we paid a flat rate and the driver took care of the entry fee, but this post I just read was from April 2010.

I hope this helps you for Gibraltor

Had a couple of days off and trying to catch up! Aren't we all trying to catch up permanently?

Oh! also just found out I passed both of my first OU (open university) courses! yay! I know they were only short courses but they were a big thing for me, and the start of my degree :woohoo::woohoo:

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

I can just imagine that special moment:

"Hi, I'm Bareacuda."

"I'm Nacho Mama!"
Woody
:rotfl2:

Don't you just love shopping? My favorite thing to do!! I passed that gene on to both of my girls!! :rotfl::rotfl:
We're going to get along just fine, I'm a passionate shopper! :goodvibes

We are in the process of finalizing our excursions and I have to say, wow Disney sure charges families a lot. Comparing apples to apples it almost feels wrong how much they inflate the costs. Rant over.
We are doing a few private tours with another Dis family, Lot's of the tour mini vans will seat 8 people, so if you can share with another family it brings the cost down and gives you more flexibility in your plans. We will be deciding on our own itinerary at some ports. Just a thought?

I was at the doctor again for my wrist again. I'm still having pain, but now I have swelling in the hand and wrist. The doctor went back and looked at the MRI again. The arm was clear, but the wrist is fuzzy. So I need to get another MRI. It least the person that took my MRI said i was having problems holding still because of the pain, so my doctor prescribe me xanax for the MRI. I still not looking for another MRI. I will let you know the results when i get them.

Stephen
I think you should just cut your arm off, it will be far less annoying that way, Just joking, It does sound very frustrating for you, I hope the new MRI gives you some insight into the problem.

There's something funky going on with the way they are splitting out the charges. My invoice also shows the $348 in taxes and port charges. However, when I go to the DCL site and put in my reservation (dummy) again, it shows $69 in taxes, but the totals are the same. Since it is only the total that counts, ......I think it's ok.

Weird, We paid $277.20 for 4 of us in a Cat 10, Have I paid it or not?:confused3

Oh yeah, I forgot why I checked in here. I got an upgrade on my European cruise! DCL has redeemed itself.
Yay, Good onya!

We hope to get a flamenco show scheduled for the evening of the 16th. I need to get on that!! There is one where you can have tapas instead of dinner (or dinner if you choose). The tapas option was much more affordable.
Where did you find that, we love to do it, but don't arrive till the 17th.

With all this talk about fuel charges I have emailed my TA ( Dreams Unlimited) to see if we were charged it or not. If we have been charged it I have asked for it to be removed on the basis that it is discriminatory and basically a penalty for booking early. Don't know if I will have much luck with that.

I wonder what the response will be?

Let us know how you go. ;)

We are doing the Unforgettable West Maderia tour, however we also want to do the Blandy Wine Lodge. They close at 630 pm and the tour gets down at about 530. Now we have a dilemma.

Noel have you heard back from Daniel tours? He might be a better option to see what we want and still be able to do Blandy Wine Lodge

It's only 6AM there so I don't expect to hear from them for a few hours.

What t do maybe flip a coin?? Both sound reall good. Has anyone done the wine tour? I read the history of the Blandy's and it is interesting. :confused3

PRIVATE TORTOLA ISLAND TOUR

Welcome to Tortola, the largest and most populated of the British Virgin Islands.

On this tour you will:
• Cane Garden Bay
• J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens
• Fort Hill, Ridge Road
• Pass Long Trench village & Fahie Hill
• Mount Healthy windmill
• Beach/snack time

Begin with a scenic island drive through beautiful Tortola. Your tour takes you through the busy business center of Road Town for a visit to the J.R. O’Neal Botanic Gardens, where approximately 30 minutes is allowed for strolling in the gardens.

Then travel up Fort Hill to the Ridge Road, where the route passes through the local villages of Long Trench and Fahie Hill. Visit one of the more intact remainders of the era of "King Sugar" – Mount Healthy windmill, where you will get a chance to wander around the ruins and look at the surrounding views. Continue along the ridge before arriving at Sky World, where you will stop for souvenir shopping and a chance to admire the fabulous view of the surrounding islands from the observation deck.

It's time to experience one of Tortola's biggest assets - its beaches. You will pay a visit to Cane Garden Bay on Tortola's north shore, well known as one of the Caribbean's top 10 beaches. Surrounding islands mean that the sea is calm here most of the time, and you will enjoy soaking in the lovely Caribbean sun and great atmosphere. You will enjoy a complimentary drink as you dig your toes in the sand for almost an hour.

Re-board your vehicle and continue along the ridge for still more views before descending the Doty New Road to the North Shore line. The route follows the shore line passing through several small fishing villages before crossing the island over Zion Hill. Make a stop at the Old Government House Museum, where you will take a guided tour of the residence of previous British Governors.

At the end of the tour, the driver will return you to the cruise pier. However, he will be free to take those interested in getting back to the beach to Cane Garden Bay - AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. If you want to do this, please arrange it with your driver in advance, and also arrange a pick up time for your return transfer to the pier. You can pay him directly for the extra transfer service.

At the beach, you can rent anything and everything. This beach has several bars and restaurants with restrooms, food, and chairs and umbrellas to rent. There are also beach concessions renting out beach toys such as jet skis.

Afterwards, you will be transferred back to the pier and your cruise ship.

Do you know the cost?

Wonder what films we will get on board:confused3

Toy story 3?

Anybody hear anything?

Usually they show several recent releases. I cannot imagine that TS3 would not be shown. I'm counting on it!! :goodvibes LOVE the TS movies.

On that note - are we in the minority here? I would rather save for a DCL trip than take one of those that was not mentioned above... Tell me I am not a cruise snob... OK - LIE TO ME if you must... I prefer to think of it as high standards...

We haven't cruised with any of those "others" and don't think we will. We are Disney spoiled and like it that way. :snooty:

Not sure who to talk to about this, but the email for the roll call is not working. Dsis and I have both tried sending email and they keep getting returned.

If there are 8, the website says it is 52 per person. I am not sure if this pricey as I have never been there. Do you know? Here is the website for more info:

https://secure.shoretrips.com/common/search4.asp?rcode=CAR&lcode=EIS&tcode=026388

You might come out slightly ahead like I did. Your numbers sound similar to mine. Is the OBC because of booking with DCL while on board or is it a Dreams OBC? That could make a big difference. I can't speak to wheat Dreams would do, but I kept my onboard discount and OBC because this was a transferred ressie from one I booked onboard a long time ago. I think most of the TAs only offer OBC on new bookings so not sure how they will handle this.

Oh, and Shelley (if you see this) I was able to keep my same cabin number even though they are only offering GTY now.
Oh really huh? Interesting....... I may have to call my TA and see if they can work this out. It seems like others on the thread called DCL and got their's back! So unfair for some to pay, some not. :( They need to just take it off everyone's. My opinion. haha

Attention all ye pirates (pirate:) that ordered shirts!

We are ready to place the order and need payment ASAP.

Shown below by DIS name is what is owed. This includes shipping. We can't order shirts until the finds have been collected - and we sail in 93 days. So we need to act fast (unless someone has about $1500 sitting around and they want to bank roll the screening process! :rotfl2:)!

Shirts can not be ordered withut full payment. Payment will be accepted by PayPal (www.paypal.com). Once on the site, click on SEND MONEY. Funds are being sent to my PayPal account (Well, mine and DH's, but I trust him as long as Harvey isn't around...) Use the to email address: sue.kraft@gmail.com. PLEASE SELECT PERSONAL TRANSFER as there are no fees as long as you use your bank account or PayPal account. If you use a credit card, you will need to pay a fee. (please don't pass the fee to me!!:scared1:)

Once funds are collected the shirts will be ordered. I will update page one with the info here. Please don't delay on this or we may not have shirts in time. as stated above, WE sail in 93 days... TODD sails before us as he is a back to back cruiser. So, we really need to get a move on!!

If there are any questions or concerns, please PM me or email me at sue.kraft@gmail.com.

Thanks everyone!!

Forgot to add... if your DIS name is in RED I will be bringing your shirt to the ship so that you don't have to pay international shipping. The shipping cost listed in to get the shirts packed up and shipped to me.

And I cry........
because I missed this......
no shirts for us
wahhhhhhhhhhh

I'm interested and had Daniel's bookmarked already. My wish list for Madeira is the cable car and toboggan and maybe the market. Haven't given it much thought beyond that.

I do want to end up at Blandys but haven't figured out if I can take my son with me. Does anyone know? I know here in the US he can't take any winery tours but not sure of the European rules. I can always send him back to the ship if I need to.

If we have enough interest in Blandys does someone (no I'm not volunteering) want to look into a private group tour in the late afternoon?
I love reading posts like this from you.
I read it and go "she's going, she's going, yup she's going *crosses fingers"
haha

I don't expect an issue. DS will only be 15, but he's already 6'2" and 225lbs so no one would suspect that he shouldn't be there. Besides he'll probably grow another 3 or 4 inches over the summer :rotfl:
holy macaroni! Trevoy has been growing!
and I thought Robert was shooting up at a ridiculous pace.... you won't recognize him- and I won't recognize Trevoy! I'll have to get a ladder to look at the boy's face! :lmao:
As short as I am! Poor ruby... she's shorter than me still (uh, I think she's done growing haha) and a little self-conscious about it. she's gonna get a crook in her neck if she tries to talk to him. haha

I've tried to read what everyone's doing- I don't think I saw anyone else doing stuff we have planned? I'll post- let me know if you're doing the same! :)

uh let's see---
in Gibraltar we're doing DCL's Gibraltar walking tour
Madiera we're doing DCL's Madiera caves & north coast day tour
St Maarten we're doing discover dive (all but Rita) with shoretrips
Tortola we're doing DCL's Island tour, beach & lunch
Castaway cay- not sure... such a short day there we may not book anything. IDK We were CONSIDERING a few things- but can't do them all so we're still thinking about it.

First off, thanks to everyone that speedily sent their shirt money! We are hoping to get everyone taken care of this week so Monday we can place the orders!!

Lynne, thanks and sorry my PM was too late!

Sorry to hear that you have to deliver news like that!

Havent' heard anything but I am hoping for TS3-3D as are the kids! Last year there was a premeir of a movie with Bruce Willis and he had a great time. I couldn't stay up until 12:01 (that alone may qualify me to be a Geiser in Training), Glenn was also too tired, so Stephen went alone. I wonder if we will get a premiere this trip?

This is just too funny! Thanks for not pointing fingers a thte company in question...

On that note - are we in the minority here? I would rather save for a DCL trip than take one of those that was not mentioned above... Tell me I am not a cruise snob... OK - LIE TO ME if you must... I prefer to think of it as high standards...
Wonder, we had high school musical 3 last time, dn went went her friends.I went to bed.:thumbsup2

Funny, my friend had one, it used to run, it is just such a worry, chi chi, got clipped by a car and broke his leg, the daft dog just kept running on 3 legs!
Had a couple of days off and trying to catch up! Aren't we all trying to catch up permanently?

YES!!!!

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Not working, Glen is really busy that deals with it, pm sue_kraft and she will sort you out.

Thanks Sue and all the other sfor doing "stuff"

LOL Bubbles is great! Dan hates me when I use her voice as he says its creepy!

Robert is a frightenly good mimic so he does the voices of all the characters - its very creepy...

$999 per person is an amazing price ... is that what you originally paid on the release date.

That was tier 1 pricing for cat 11s - thats what we paid I think or pretty close to it.

We were thinking of doing the Explore the rock on your own tour in Gibralter through DCL. Is this easy to do on our own?

We are hoping to do most ports on our own and I think most should be pretty easy - they will be expecting us so plenty of taxis around :rotfl:

I had a horrible day today, beagle girl ran away when we were up the forest, I hung around for an hour then ran home, then dumped beagle boy, grabbed mobile and push bike then started looking for her, I called Len in tears when he came home for lunch and the little witch had taken herself home,
Lucky we live on the edge of the forest with no roads, bloomin beagles, who would have them? thats them on the leads for at least a month!

I would be beside myself if one of mine did that. I think Hugo got out once (when he was younger he was always keen to go and explore on his own) and I was a mess until we found him. He had gone in the garage and I'd locked the door without realising he was stuck in there. He didn't make a peep until my Dad came around to help look for him and called his name and Hugo barked at him.

In 2007 we did the same thing. We walked ou of the terminal and their were taxi (van) there to do a private tour. We took it to the rock. We saw the cave and went down in the tunnel and oh, yes ther barbery apes. He alos stopped so we could see the ship that sank, Morocco and the Gibraltor Strait as well as spain. Awesome! We plan to do it again. For some reason I think it was around 30 Euros I will check and see if I can find my trip report witht he info in it.

The van held 6

Was the 30 euros each or per taxi?

I dont know about human wrists but animal ones have lots and lots of bones and vets hate to look at they xrays.

Enjoy, ps, re blood, I dont even try to give blood anymore, I got a load of tests, I seem fit and healthy but always low hct, one hamatoligist said if you sweat a lot you can have low hct, I really cant mind the why and how but since I am always doing sport I just stuck to that and forgot about it.

What does it involve?

cute doggie:thumbsup2

Thanks Lynne! I think I've prob had a bit of annemea for awhile as do occassionally (once or twice a month) go dizzy and always thought it was blood sugar!

Sue, I will try and make a payment, my cc details were stolen and paypal acc stopped,:headache: watch this space.

Oh she's a little swine! Our dog did that once and we were so frantic. Got back and he was sat on the front step covered in horse poo!

Wonder what films we will get on board:confused3

Toy story 3?

Anybody hear anything?

Im hoping Toy Story 1, 2 & 3 in 3D

Oh my!

I just got off the phone with DCL and we are receiving a $224 shipboard credit for the fuel surcharge. I was offered a refund to my credit card or the shipboard credit. I just mentioned the fuel surcharge and the wonderful gentleman on the phone immediately gave me my options without me asking for the refund. It was definitely worth the call.

Well done! Guess this is the way to go for everyone with FSC

I got "It's a Girl!" balloons to welcome Daisy home. The blue star is in memory of her brother, Sidney, who we lost to a tragic accident on Sunday, June 13, 2010. He will always be a twinkle in our eyes and a star shining down upon us.

IMGP0904.jpg

OK Sydney was gorgeous and Im sure he was giving her big licks last night when you were all asleep! She is absolutely lovely! Give her a big cuddle from me!

Okay I left facebook games tonight and am trying to read most of the information you all have been writing about. I have a lot of reading... osmosis?? There are some nice things to do that someone has put alot of thought and work into. Is it too late to sing up for secret santa? I have tried to add my information on to the roll call 2 times today and it will not go thru. HELP!!!

Secrete Santa you can pm TotallyAngelic. I don't think its too late at all!

Not sure who to talk to about this, but the email for the roll call is not working. Dsis and I have both tried sending email and they keep getting returned.

Su_kraft is your girl for this one. PM her and see if you can get her to add you if you are having trouble

Anyway folks Im off for the weekend so don't post too much! Back Monday! Enjoy your weekends

We will have to get Dan and Robert in a room so he can wind Dan up lol!

Ours isn't too far off so didn't mind paying extra over the FSC.

I think it was 30 Euros per person for the taxi outside but don't know for sure.

Kimberley, the little puppy is so cute. am i right in thinking they don't moult?

Good morning everyone. I'm a little bit . Well I would be:yay: if I could jump up and down!!!:rotfl2:

I'm excited, dropping the poker tables off tomorrow and the kareoke. Someone will make a fool of themselves that night. Sure hope it isn't me. (I would like to state for the record - that I have yet to act like drunken fool in front of my friends)

I just sent you the money for our shirts this morning. Just a word of warning though. My Paypal account is funded by my bank account and I use it all the time to make purchases and have never been charged a fee once. I followed your advice to use Personal Transfer and for the first time ever I was charged a fee. It was only 50 cent and therefore no issue, but it did annoy me. So I assume they only charge this when you use the Personal Transfer option and not for purchases.

Let us know what size they are Corinna and I won 't need to do any more shopping! :thumbsup2:lmao:

Now there is an idea ;)

Not yet Maz, but depending on finances (and fit!) I may well wear one I already have (sssssssh, don't tell anyone it's been seen before ;)):rolleyes1:thumbsup2

One of my formal dresses and my semi-formal dress have been worn on the last cruise. I love them and don't get as many opportunities to wear them as I would like so I have no problem recycling them.

In Europe (with the exception of the UK) it is not a problem to take kids to a wine tasting or winery tour. I know that I have been to a few with my parents as a child. I don't know how old your son is, but I just checked and the legal drinking age in Portugal is only 16 so even if he is younger than that, considering how tall he is, nobody should have any issue with him being there.

I just got off the phone with DCL and we are receiving a $224 shipboard credit for the fuel surcharge. I was offered a refund to my credit card or the shipboard credit. Thanks for letting me know. I think an email to my travel agent is called for.

Here's the new little sister, Daisy, on her first full day at home! She's 12 weeks old already.

IMGP0904.jpg
IMGP0949.jpg

She is precious and does look like a real princess.

Well my evening gown that I had custom made in China arrived yesterday, even though it is still saying that it is in London. I had a bit of a surprise. I had ordered a blue and pink gown, but when I unpacked it, it was just baby blue. I was a bit disappointed at first until I had it completely out of its packaging. It is pretty much the same gown as in this photo:

Bhc6yDwB2kKGrHqQOKioEry9ucReBLJQi0b.jpg

It has loads of intricate embroidery and the photo really does not do it justice. This is the most beautiful item of clothing I ever owned. I can't wait to try it on later. It definitely does need a tiara. This is a gown fit for a princess if I have ever seen one.
