They actually state to put your feet up on your carryon...

Sorry for the confusion as I ordered the first class sleeper also. I must have pasted in wrong URL. I received UPS notifications and expect to have both by Thursday. I am going to try them both on a car trip next weekend.

My carry on is too big to go under the seat so I need to have something for my feet and my short legs.

Oh, yes!!!! They make your legs look skinny.
They make your legs look skinny....really? OK, I'm definitely going to need some! :rotfl:

Oh, they're totally mentionable on this thread! Or did you miss the Spanx conversation?
I'm almost a professional bridesmaid by now with all of my experience so I can help too!

Nothing is unmentionable on this thread! :upsidedow

I wonder if we could get the captain to walk them down the aisle? pirate:

I thought if we picked a date that we would be celebrating anyway it would make it easier for him to remember. So far, it has worked!

That was our thinking when we picked our date. We got married 2nd January, we figured we'd just extend New Years Eve celebrations for a couple of days. What we didn't plan on was getting older and not being able to party so hard anymore :sad2::sad2::sad2:

This was our cake table.
caketable.jpg

I'll have to see if I can find anymore pictures from the wedding and the Disney aspects of it. :)

Beautiful story, Gorgeous cake, Please more photo's! :goodvibes

There is at least one "John" per stateroom.
Jon (the person, not the washroom:rotfl:)

Any advice from those who have suffered from Pancreatitis?

Hi, It's Will I thought you need to know that my dad and I will not be staying at your house. I'm not sure when my dad was planning to stay with you, but regardless we won't now. We may come to stay later in the summer but as it is my dad is on his way to Sacramento in an ambulance, as I type this e-mail. I took him to the ER last night and he spent the night there. Sometime between 2:00 this morning and 9:00 this morning the doctors here in Mt. Shasta found that he had Acute Pancreatitis, or an infection of his Pancreas. He and I are alright and we wish you the best of summers.

I think that's what Marilyn went through earlier this year.
Sending prayers and pixie dust to your Nephew and BIL. pixiedust:

I do not like going to the bathroom on airplanes either and I really don't drink because I would have to go at least 3 x's! Ugh! It is very discouraging. I guess I will have to change my ways for the Barcelona flight.

Everybody seems to love dressing up for formal and semi. I guess I am in the minority - I hope I don't offend when I show up in nice pants! I am looking forward to seeing all the dresses!

Erik - maybe you want to get married on Castaway! You would have tons of friends there and it would make for a great party!!! Or the middle of the ocean would be cool - I am up for a wedding!

I don't like the bathrooms either, they always have sticky floors, EW! I always put on the socks that the airline give you, then leave them on the plane when I get off. My flight is a total of 34 hours, Do you think I can hold it :rolleyes1
I will be dressing up as much as my luggage allows me to. I will definitely bring 1 formal dress, I may have to recycle it :confused3
I'm up for a wedding, Eric and Jason, are you listening? :woohoo:

So I thought I would contact DCL

We hope you understand our position
regarding this situation, as this will be our final correspondence
relating to the fuel supplement on your vacation.

As you can see by the last sentence, I guess they are done with me! Both email responses (to my initial one and this second one) were from "Wilma".
Wow, Is it just me or does anybody else find that last sentence to be a little patronising? :sad2:

Noel, Loved your initial fireworks comment, Woody, Love your comeback, Too Funny!:laughing::laughing:

The good thing about us learning English is that at school we can use the British or American version of words n stuff.

Looking sooo much forward to your accents!!! I LOVE the English language!!! Soo looking forward to speaking it for two weeks.

I'll teach you some Aussie slang too :thumbsup2

Thank you soo much:worship: The journal is very cool!:thumbsup2

No problem, I'm glad somebody else can use it. :flower3:

Is that only available if you're booked w/DCL? I couldn't find a link w/that name (we're with Dreams U).

Possibly, we booked thru DCL. When I log into DCL and then go to my reservaion on the first page the first section is My Reservation and about 4 lines down is a link "View cruise". When I click there it goes to a page with the monies broken out, showing cost per person, taxes, fuel supplement, airfare, airfare taxes and total. I don't know if you can get there if you're booked through a TA. Maybe ask the TA to check?

:cutie:

Noel, please share your experience w/these. I'm interested but have some reservations, not the least of which is their weight.

I think that must be it 'cause I can't find that link. I did contact DCL today to confirm our OBCs (and printed them out so we have it in black & white); not going to worry about the fuel charges, seems like ramming your head against a brick wall at this point and I'm def not into pain ;) .

I just wanted to share Youtube Video's to get ready for Madeira: From Eusébia in her own words:

It will be my pleasure if you post TUMA’s videos on the DISboards. I’m so sorry the second one has such a poor sound. That show took place in Porto Santo, our smaller sister Island and their equipments aren’t very sophisticated. The first song, the one where you only see Sérgio, is called Madeira.

Here you can see TUMA (the name of their group) performing in one of their trips to mainland Portugal. Sérgio, my eldest son, is standing in front of the white and blue flag (the University’s flag), playing the mandolin. The dark colored flag is TUMA’s flag and the yellow and blue flag is Madeira’s flag. Madeira is an autonomous region of Portugal, so we have our own flag and hymn. Follow this link, please: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSe1j9bCWqE&feature=related

Now I’ll try to show you my other son, Rúben. You can see him here, but the sound is terrible, I’m sorry. Rúben is the boy standing closest to the image of the knife, to the right. Sérgio is the third boy, after him, to the right. This song is beautiful, but when the sound is good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3qT_RiXNL4

Noel, thank you for posting! Another thing to get us excited! By the way, I might have missed this. Why do we need to rest our feet on our luggage - should your feet be raised?

LittleDisneyLovers - no way holding it for 36 hours. I think I will have 8 and that is too much!

Yes, I too found the e-mail a little condescending. I think since Carl took over as CEO, things are not as "happy" as before. I really liked Tom, the CEO of DCL. They were always willing to accomodate.

LOL - see I am not the only one that feels that nothing in unmentionable...

I am up for a wedding if the guys want one... Not sure the captain would do it - but we could have jack sparrow kidnap a ships officer to officiate.. we have an in with him... :lmao:

Im another that thinks airline bathrooms are the worst! Although I haven't ever noticed that they are sticky... Double yuck! OK, I have never gotten socks from the airline either... What am I missing? :confused3

I am seriously thiking about a notebook that I can have people write their countries slang in.... :rotfl2:

Have to share - this is Stephen all packed up and ready for Teen Expedition at our outdoor YMCA. It is a great program - but this is the first time he has been away from home (and not with family) for a week... My baby is growing up... :sad2: Can you tell I miss him already??

I skimmed.....

Anyway.. Lynne what was wrong with your leg for 3 weeks???

Kimmy, I love playing hand and foot...:cool2:

Hoagie Pie, I got a cover for my iPhone and no more dropped calls. YAY!!! My DD and I are delighted. The only covers left were ugly as all get out, but seem to work, so no worries...:goodvibes

Stephen, good news on your healing. Hope it doesn't really take 8 weeks.:goodvibes

:grouphug::grouphug:for your BIL, Noel. :grouphug:

The insurance company denied my MRI so I have to go to a specialist. I should have done that in the first place. My bad. I see him on Wednesday...:rolleyes1

See this is why people abuse the ER. Any tests the ER wants to do are automatically covered.

Well i got my MRI results today. Well there is nothing broke, ligament damage or tendon damage. They found a slight sprain and fluid in the wrist. This did show on the last MRI and this one shows that it healing. They think that the fluid is causing the pain and swelling. They give me pills for that and they told to give it another 6 to 8 weeks.. It has already been 8 weeks. At least I'm not on any restrictions and I should be healed by the time of the cruise. :cool1:

Stephen

What a long painful time for you. I hope it heals quicker than that, but at least it should be fine for the cruise.

Just got this text message from my nephew Will. He is the one who lost his mother (my sister Karen) 6 years ago when he was 10. I am on the phone to Kaiser Sacramento right now and they are checking to see when he will arrive. He has Type 2 Diabetes and is quite overweight.

Any advice from those who have suffered from Pancreatitis?

So I thought I would contact DCL regarding the fuel supplement again noting that a number of people that had paid using DVC points were getting the supplement returned as OBC. The repsonse started with the same policy, etc, etc and pin-pointed the DVC as follows:

As far as Disney Vacation Club, these Guests are using their 'points' to
purchase their cruise. These did not reserve their cruise through Disney
Cruise Line as you did. These Guests arranged their cruise through
Disney Vacation Club and are under a contractual agreement that is
governed by the rules and regulations of their membership. How the fuel
supplement is handled is monitored by Disney Vacation Club.

We regret any disappointment and hope these concerns will not continue
to affect your regard for Disney. We hope you understand our position
regarding this situation, as this will be our final correspondence
relating to the fuel supplement on your vacation.

As you can see by the last sentence, I guess they are done with me! Both email responses (to my initial one and this second one) were from "Wilma".

:thumbsup2 for all those that managed to get your $$ back!

Ok, now I feel guilty for getting it! But you know, even with my print out, I won't believe it til I see it!
BTW, I don't care for the tone of this email at all!!! I think I would be sending this back to a supervisor with my opinion regarding the situation and the way it's being handled!! ::yes::

Sue - great pictures!! Let us know how Stephen does. Abby leaves for camp in 2 weeks for 5 days - no family - I cried last year and this year I hope I am better. Lots of time to dis and FE's, but no Abby!!:sad1:

Q & A's from first class website:

Q. How much does it weigh?
A. It weighs just over a pound.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How small does it get when it is totally deflated and rolled up?
A. It folds down to the size of a bulky travel umbrella or a 20 oz. water bottle.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Does it work for car travel?
A. Yes, but we don’t want the driver using it for obvious reasons. For the passenger, it works fine, but because most car seats wrap around your back somewhat, you will need to use less air than in a coach seat.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I am 6’2”. Am I too tall to use the sleeper?
A. No, at 6’2” you should be just fine. 6’3” is right at the limit and at 6’4” you would be too tall to use it unless your are in an emergency exit row.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I’m 5’ tall. Am I too short?
A. No, but we will ask you to do one thing different. We want you to sit on the bottom 2” of the sleeper. This allows your head and neck to be cradled correctly in the head support.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. I’m big ( 300 lbs.) is it going to work for me?
A. I’m the inventor and I’m not exactly petite at 6’1” and 240 lbs. It should work for you, though you will only need 8-9 breaths of air. For anyone over 300 lbs., I wouldn’t recommend it.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. Will if work in First Class and Business Class?
A. Absolutely! Because the seat is bigger, you will need a little more air (13-14 breaths versus 10-11 in coach).

----------------------------------------------------------------
Q. How do I clean it?
A. Warm water and mild dish soap.

Is that only available if you're booked w/DCL? I couldn't find a link w/that name (we're with Dreams U).

Yes, if you use a TA you can't see the details of your cruise. Your TA will have to check for you. I've had reservations booked with DCL and with TA, and have transferred from DCL to DU, and lost the ability to see the money details once it's with a TA.

Just a thought but I was checking out the app store in iTunes and came across Rick Steves' Historic Paris Tour app. I know that some of you might be going, its on sale for $2.99 and the reviews say it doesn't need wi-fi connection. Just a thought.

I'm going back to see if they have anything I might consider. I'm so addicted. I just found out about all kinds of apps and so far, from yesterday have downloaded 6 apps to my phone. :sad2:

Oh yeah! Not sure how to play Mahjongg tiles in cards but I love to play it on my phone. But I would love to watch. I'm so addicted.

LOL - see I am not the only one that feels that nothing in unmentionable...
Ditto!!:thumbsup2

I am up for a wedding if the guys want one... Not sure the captain would do it - but we could have jack sparrow kidnap a ships officer to officiate.. we have an in with him... :lmao:
Wouldn't that be fun!!! :banana::banana:

First and Business class, maybe?? Still not comfortable to sleep but better than coach.

I am seriously thiking about a notebook that I can have people write their countries slang in.... :rotfl2:

He looks like my nephew Will did when he was younger. I sent my kids to camp for at least a month. I needed the break!! You are such a good Mom!! I only missed them AFTER they were gone and the house was so quiet and CLEAN!!

Stephen, I hope that you continue to heal! What an awful ordeal!

It this rate. Becca will be healed faster then me

We pray that's what happens. We need everybody well!
This is great news and hopefully the pain will go away soon.
Make sure you do rest it then.;)
Hopefully you will heal soon! :)

I am glad to hear good news for you. I am sure it was a relief to hear that it will be healed by the cruise!!
What a long painful time for you. I hope it heals quicker than that, but at least it should be fine for the cruise.

Thank for all the well wishes. I hope it heal much faster then 6 to 8 weeks. If it take that long it will take over 4 month since the elevator hit me.

Stephen

I believe Spain requires API, and the fact that we had to fill in one for our one way ticket to the UK means folk need one if going there too.

I believe that this is the same as the TSA Secure Flight program in the USA:

TSA Regulation
Secure Flight is a program developed by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The mission of the Secure Flight program is to enhance the security of domestic and international commercial air travel. The TSA requirements apply to flights currently being booked.

Under the Secure Flight Final Rule, airlines will collect and send to the TSA the following additional information from passengers when making a reservation to fly within, into or out of the United States:

•Full Name (required), as it appears on government-issued I.D. approved for use when traveling
•Date of Birth (required)
•Gender (required)
•Redress Number (optional)
Note: Secure Flight uses the results of the Redress process in its watch list matching process. This prevents future misidentifications for passengers who may have a name that is similar to an individual on the watch list. Passengers who believe they have been mistakenly matched to a name on the watch list are invited to apply for Redress through DHS TRIP. You can get more information on the redress process at www.dhs.gov/trip.

More information regarding Secure Flight is available from the TSA online: www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/secureflight/index.shtm.

When I posted the information about Gibraltar earlier, someone asked about the bus pass which is part of the SkyWalk Combo package. On the web site it states that you have to pick up the pass at the Spanish border, which is obviously not realistic for us (it would cost more to get there than the value of the bus pass!). Here is the reply - at long last - from Gibraltar tourism:

"I believe they are made available to the cruise liners as well.

In fact i think they offer a free coach service from the cruise terminal
to the main square, Casemates."

It doesn't really answer the question but to me the bus pass isn't a deal breaker. I think it's only 1 pound, anyway.
