Wow Noel, your dd really looks like you!
Hi & welcome to you and all other new arrivals (not been here long myself)![]()
hi everyone
bit of advice if you would
apparently you can buy tip credits to give at the end of the journey from disney for about 200 dollars
do not understand surely you give tips every day
any disney cruise vetrens whats the deal here and whats best buy from disney or do it myself
i often like to give good regular tips like mouse keeping etc
Samantha really does look like you Noel. Is it Samantha who had the DVT? Has she been ok since?
You don't have to give tips each day - it isn't expected at all. There are four positions you tip(if you wish of course and service has been good) onboard. Your server, assistant server, room host and head dining room server. They leave a letter with the recommended amount to tip a couple of nights before the end of the cruise. You fill ion the amount and total up. You can add some extra tip here too if you want. You can either go down to Guest Services and pay there, either with cash, your card on file, on any onboard credit you might have left. You are given a little pad with everything printed on, and envelopes to put a tear off portion in to give to the individual person, usually done at the final dinner, or that last evening to your room host. Many people add a little more, so you can either do that with cash too, or again just fill in the form and do it at Guest Services. You can also pay the whole tips with cash if you so wish.
You can of course add more to your onboard credit account to cover these tips, which I guess is what you have heard about.
If you have room service you can give a few dollars tip when they ring it to you.
If you eat at Palo you can add some tip there to the 'bill'. The bill already would include the extra service charge for eating there, but this doesn't actually cover a full tip.
Here is the info on the DCL site.

I presume for 14 nights we double the 7 night total!!
wow awesome advice thanks
Fabulous!Have you started playing it yet? It's a wonderful game!
Woo Hoo!!! I am P I F!!!!![]()
I may be in the Anaheim area for the afternoon/evening of May 18th. Anyone up for an afternoon at Disneyland? If so, let me know. If you are interested, just pm me.
Not yet, I will take it out on our boat this weekend and we'll get into practise!
YAY!
Ooh, Lucky you, I would have loved an afternoon in Disneyland, but the 13 hour flight from Australia is kind of annoying!![]()
I could seriously do with you coming along to my night outs!
I always say to Len, why did you not take me home before I bla blabla
You would not go! well you should have dragged me![]()
I vote for taking the 21 month old along unless he has major behavior issues. We traveled with the kids to Europe when they were less than a year old but of course, that was many years ago. We did age appropriate things with them and it worked well.
The only real issues are plane rides which we use to give the kids cold medicine to sleep through most of the flight.
I am sure there are plenty of people on the boards who have traveled with kids recently who have plenty of tips.
Just my thoughts.
New to the board, can someone help me out? I'll be on this cruise.

happy monday everbody, my week off![]()
Hello again all, what a chatty bunch! I just wanted to say thanks for everyone's good wishes. My parents are off of the EBTA and in Ireland for a few days before flying back.
Are we still doing the postcard exchange? I'd love to sign up for that.

OK, now that I'm back from the EBTA, I'm ready to read this thread. It's like I can't get into the next cruise till I've sailed the previous one.
Probably the best idea from the EBTA was our "book exchange." Anyone who was interested brought some reading material. On scheduled days we'd meet in the Promenade Lounge and drop any books we'd finished onto a table and help ourselves to anything we wanted to read. At the end of the cruise we donated the books to the crew library (and were able to personally hand them to a crew person so we knew they'd make it there). The best story--one server asked about our DIS name tags. We (and another server) basically explained what it was and that we'd arranged several group activities for the long cruise. I mentioned our plans to donate the books to the crew and she literally burst into tears! She couldn't believe that we'd think of them. We did admit that we didn't want the weight in our luggage.
Show off!Congrats!
