WOW, I go out on our boat for 3 days and there are over 10 pages to catch up on, OMG!!! It's been a beautiful long weekend here, and we spent it out on the water swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. DH got to play with his toys (superjet jet ski thingy), Kids got to pump yabbies and go fishing, and I got to work on my tan and eat fresh prawns (I think you call them shrimp?), straight from the trawlers, YUM! Perfect weekend, even if I'm a little sunburnt

Welcome, Nice to meet you!
OK, Maybe take up scrabble or solitaire?
OW! At least it's not broken and you will be fine for the cruise!
You might have to take another ship to Spain if that silly volcano gets angry again!
I think you should pack some of those rhinestones! I'm sure one of us will break something, I know if it's me I'll need some bling for formal night!
Ooohhh, Well...We'll all have to make you feel extra loved. You inspired me to buy Banagrams, so we'll have a game!
Take him! We have travelled internationally with our 2 DD's since they were 2 and 3. The flights is the worse part, we just completely tire our kids out with bike riding, big walks and no sleep for a couple of days before we go, then they crash on the plane. Although this trip will be 34 hours in transit to Barcelona, so don't think that will be enough this time! They are 8 & 9 now, so they will be OK. Definitely take their favourite toy, and lots of activitues to keep them busy. Also take your own food in case they don't like the airline food. Not too much sugar or he will get hyped up and it makes it harder to sleep, that is the case with my kids anyway? He'll be fine, it makes you slow down and may even be more relaxing?

Finally, after reading over Jon (pilk's) shoulder all this time, I decided to create my own account on this board. He often shows me the things he posts
, yes, he is right when he says they are his opinions and not mine!!! I have no clue half the time what he is saying on here.
I guess this way, I can keep a better eye on him.
So, hello to all of you. I know Jon is getting to know you, I guess I should get in on the game and meet you, as well. I'm starting to recognize some of your names that he mentions. It will be nice to finally meet you, in September.
I know it has been a bit, but I do want to personally thank you, all for all of the kindness you showed us, this past winter. Jon did show me all of your well wishes. It was so nice to know that you all we thinking of us during our rough time. Each and every one of those e-mails were appreciated more than you ever can imagine. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
I look forward to getting to know all of you better.

Welcome, Nice to meet you!
Hi Ya'll,
I have decided I have just too much time on my hands. I have been having trouble with a case of Vertigo this past week. Have to be very careful standing up and other things like that. Sooo,,,,I took the time tonight to look at the first names to see how many of each there were.
The most is Mike at 6 followed by John at 5!!!!!
I so need a job.
OK, Maybe take up scrabble or solitaire?

Well i had fun at work today. Enter a building and walking into an elevator the door close on me. I had pain in my arm and hand so they sent ER. After 8 x ray and 2 hours they determined that nothing was broke. But I have a bad sprained wrist, a contusions on my hand and wrist and major swelling. They doctor sent we home from work and i have to keep me hand in a splint for a minimum of 5 day. What i way to start my weekend.

Even better! I LOVE Australia - I could stop by NZ, pick you up and then we could head over to Aussie! LOL!!!! The only bad part would be the flight - I HATE flying! I can't wait for the cruise, but I just wish we could take another ship over to Spain instead of having to flying there.

OUCH!!!!
Too bad you didnt get a cast. I could have put rhinestones on it like my 4 year old DGD !She fell thru a trampoline
Have a relaxing weekend Stephen.![]()

....I just got a PM from lenzs4 letting me know that they are not on this cruise any longer either.
And also for those of you who know or remember our good friends Chris & Rob (scoobypop and his DP) who were on the last EBTA in 2007 with us and then on the Double Dip in Fall of 2008, as well; and were supposed to be on this trip, too-----they just emailed me earlier this week to let me know that they, too, have had to cancel this trip. (They weren't signed up on the website or any rosters or anything so it won't impact any lists...just an FYI for folks who knew them.) That totally sucks for Jason and I, of course, because when we originally booked this trip we booked it with Sandi and her family, Hadley and her family and Chris & Rob----because our 4 groups always cruise together....and now they've all dropped one by one except me and Jason!!Luckily there's a bunch of other familiar faces and friends from our last TA trip and the Double Dip still aboard and plenty of new DIS friends to keep us company, too!!

Ok! I'm a bit behind as usual. Finally, added our picture, signed up for tastings, t-shirts and would like to sign up for the tea. I'm not sure though if I'd be able to make the tea depending on how the kids are doing.
I've really started second guessing whether this was a good idea taking this trip or not with our little boy (who will be 21 months when we sail). Our daughter will be fine. My mom has offered to watch him, but my husband has said if he doesn't go then none of us are. So, any thoughts or suggestions???

We stepped aboard the Magic for the first time on DD's 2nd birthday (7 day Mexican Riviera). We've been hooked ever since! She had a wonderful time and so did the rest of us. We did use Flounder's several times so that we could spend time with the older kids and that was nice. I think we used Flounders for Pirate night and a couple of hours jet skiing in Cabo, and also for a grown up Palo evening. DD2 loved it in Flounders and was happy to go each time. Mind you, she had NEVER been with a babysitter that wasn't family before so we did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The stafff in Flounders was top notch as was our wait staff and our cabin attendant.
Around the ship DD2 loved the stage shows (but not the variety shows), the characters, and the kiddie water area. She also loved the stairs. I spent a lot of time walking up and down stairs! We took her into the Kids club area several times to see characters and play on the toys, as well.
I've also taken many flights with each my DD's from the time they were infants. Bring new little toys such as crayons, little stuffed toys, etc and bring them out along the flight. If your child will watch movies, a DVD player or video iPod are a good distraction for long flights. Fruit loops in a baggie and lolliipops are a godsend too! Bring other snack/juice box distractions also. To "pop" ears we used gummie snacks which were a new, special treat for flying. Of course, always remember to have the special lovey or blankie at all times!
It's all very doable and part of a wonderful family experience. We took DD to Europe when she was 9 months and again when she was not quite 4. Gate check the stroller so you have it with you until the last minute.
