Our Panama Canal cruise is 15 nights!!!!!:cool1:

I know !!!!!
my first was 4, then 7,then 14, then 15 !!!! :rolleyes1

It does make it very hard to go back to a 7 day or 4 day after such a long cruise.

You're going in the right direction!!:rotfl2:

It really does. I would find it really difficult to do a 4 night. We did a 2 X 7 night B2B last year. That was good.

We seem to be doing things in reverse. Our first was WBPC - 15 nights. Then we took a 7 night Alaska. Now it's 14 nights for the WBTA. Oh, well, at least we're keeping them on the longer side. I know we'd really feel 3 or 4 night ones would feel like we just got on the ship and then had to get off.

:cutie:

DH John just sent me a picture of the lunch at his conference. Doesn't the dessert look yummy?

It all looks yummy!!

I know, when we do the dream we will have to do a back to back !!:rolleyes1

Here are the prices they are quoting as of now....

$69 - 1 person on ATV

$55pp - 2 people on ATV

$33 - child 7 - 12 on ATV

Minimum age to ride is 7 yrs

Minimum age to drive is 18 yrs

Ride is 2 - 2 1/2 hours

Times of ride are 9AM and 11:30AM

Includes transfers to/from ship

When I went, we did the 9AM ride.....there was rain in the area and it started shortly after we finished our ride. This was September 2009. It is probably a good idea to do the early ride incase of afternoon rain due to the time of year. I dont remember the number of ATVs that they use at 1 time, but our ride filled up and some others had to go on the next ride.

Thanks Pam... this might be something to look at:rolleyes1

Another idea might be to put it on the the WBTA website. :surfweb: Just a thought.

You know, I thought about that. The problem I see with that is that the port information isn't a "One and Done". As people discover new things, we will want to update the information.

That is going to be a nightmare for our web masters-- because it wouldn't just be one document to update, it would be one for each of the ports and the documents would be changing daily.

The easiest thing would be if we could have separate threads to post port information. That way no one has to sort thru and collate the material. I was sort of imaging that the port threads would have information only. If something interested you and you wanted to get a group together, you could do that in the meets thread.

The ports threads would be something that cruisers after us could use.

If we can't use ports threads, we need another place to put the information.

Google Documents? how does that work? If you update the document, does the link change?

My family used Google Wave to plan our WDW get together in Florida.. BUT, my DD1 set it up. I am a technical idiot. :headache:

It's only been a few hours since I put up post #249 and already some great corrections/edits/changes/cancellations have come my way. Keep em coming folks. I'd say at this moment I've probably heard from about 1/3 of my existing list.....the sooner I can get this list buttoned up, the sooner I can actually order the lanyards! :cool1:

On the port discussion issue,

I am doing the website for my 2011 cruise, in iWeb (the limit of my website skills.) And I am using the blog page template for ports/new page, I will open a post and anyone can post comments/tips/plans/questions, although no one has yet.

Right now it is just "possibles" and I am adding a new post/topic every couple of weeks.

http://web.me.com/pdegeer/DIS_DCL_ALASKA_07_26_11/News/News.html

take a look and see if this type of format can be done on the Transatlantic website.

I just sent you a pm. Sorry I wasn't on earlier to pm you earlier. We just need a room # change. I hope it's not a lot of trouble to change that- I know you've already worked so hard on this!
Thank you.... btw. :)

I will check with DH as I think this excursion sounds really fun!!

eek! remind me not to put navigon navigator on my phone. LOL

You''ve prepared yourself with books on the iphone kindle huh? ME TOO!
Now I just have to control myself not to read the SK one, until the trip.... it's hard to resist- but I need something that won't bore me to tears on the flight! LOL

I have one of the original iphones. Only 8gb. Super tiny. I didn't upgrade to the 3gs last year because I knew they were going to release a newer one before my trip. I can't wait!!!! I want 64g!:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Another possibility would be for one person to "host" the info for each port. Page one could link to the post, which would be edited by the port host each time somebody had something to add via PMs.

Alright everyone who has sent me a PM thus far with any changes should see those changes reflected in the edited spreadsheet. It's still a work in progress as I'm waiting to hear from about 65 more DIS screennames to PM their confirmation.

If anyone wants the link to look at again and keep verifying, the full list is HERE

:blush:Finally, after reading over Jon (pilk's) shoulder all this time, I decided to create my own account on this board. He often shows me the things he posts , yes, he is right when he says they are his opinions and not mine!!! I have no clue half the time what he is saying on here. :confused3 I guess this way, I can keep a better eye on him.
So, hello to all of you. I know Jon is getting to know you, I guess I should get in on the game and meet you, as well. I'm starting to recognize some of your names that he mentions. It will be nice to finally meet you, in September.
I know it has been a bit, but I do want to personally thank you, all for all of the kindness you showed us, this past winter. Jon did show me all of your well wishes. It was so nice to know that you all we thinking of us during our rough time. Each and every one of those e-mails were appreciated more than you ever can imagine. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.:flower3:
I look forward to getting to know all of you better.

That was the original idea. I started a Gibraltar post a day or so back.

I was afraid that the post would just get too long.

Does any one know how long the posts can get?
