This has been a long time coming.
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
Now time to save up for a week at Pop Century after the cruise.:)
:woohoo::woohoo:
Before I left for work Tuesday I managed to check-in quickly. Good thing I packed a suitcase for the week cuz they sent me to Amherst, NY for two days before heading to Durham, NC. Couldn't stop in here on Tuesday night. Got up Wednesday morning to spend the day out in the rain on the gun range then off to the airport. Glad we didn't set of the sniffer machines :lmao: Still no luck checking in with you folks, no internet service at the airport. We got on the plane and just as they release the brakes we get put on a ground hold due to restrictions in Chicago. Sat on the plane for 90 minutes, at the terminal gate. We made it into Chicago just on time to catch our connection to Raliegh/Durham. Then we end up sitting on the plane for another 40 minutes waiting for other connections to arrive. Land in Raleigh 30 minutes late. It is now midnight. Rush over to the car hire, luckly they were busy with another customer and hadn't locked the door yet. They had one vehicle left, a nice family minivan:cool1: By the time we got into the hotel it was 1:40 after I little tour of Durham. Boy did 6:30 come quick.

You folks have been busy talking the last couple days. :surfweb:

We'll be arriving in Birmingham on the 10th, then Bacelona on the 16th.

Good luck:thumbsup2

Any time.
How about 8:30am???
Sounds perfect to me.
wow - its been a busy day here on DIS! Wanted to post who I had so far for tastings and shirts. Please let me know if I missed you!! My apologies on names - I was using a combination of memory, guessing and margaritas... :rotfl2: It felt appropriate at the time...

I will talk to my shirt contact and see what she can get for us, and then post to the group. Does anyone know how to get a hold of our Captain (disneyVegas1)? He was ordering shirts - maybe he can get these if I cant.
They lists are great, thanks.
Sue ... You can add our names to the t shirt list! PM to come.

PJ Breakfast 8:30 is good for us too. But then breakfast is good anytime.
And I'll be wearing my bra too:lmao::thumbsup2

And for all the "Tasters"... since Im a non drinker... you can count me in to be a designated walker... bringing you back to your room!:rotfl::rotfl2::rotfl:

I have him on my FB friends list so I'll PM him. :)

What is the age range for the Geezer's in Training? :confused3 DH would love to meet nightly at the Cove Cafe!!

Krista

:lmao: Now that is one of those things isn't it??? I think 60 is a good age to be an Old Geezer, but for GIT's, well, somewhere over 50 perhaps. But we wouldn't want to refuse a youngster - after all we might need them to help us get back to our cabins if we can't remember where they are.:rotfl2:

I might need to claim honorary GIT status. DH comes under this category. He will celebrate his 52nd birthday during our post cruise stay. I am however still a youngster with 35.

Great photo!

As a funny - my son is Stephen and my Daughter is Rebecca (normally Becca, but sometimes a Becky). I have told them they need to be nice to eachother so we can get a happy picture of the two of them... Now I have a Stephen and Becky photo to use as an example! :rotfl:

I have him on my FB friends list so I'll PM him. :)

Thanks Paula!!

If he hasn't ordered shirts yet, maybe we can tag onto his order... Wouod be nice as he has the images, we wiuld yust need to change or add wording for this... Not to mention that more shirts may help to drive the prices down...

Yo Ho Me Hearties! I have finally stopped slacking and pulled the lists together. Our original plan was up to 25 cabins per group. I thought we would have more people than we do though. So, instead of juggling a ton of stuff, I took the 34 cabins and the folks in each and pretty much divided it in half. I have 2 pretty equal groups - and at the suggestion of quite a few, I let the kids fall where they were. We have Group Papaya and Group Sage. I couldn't think of a tropical green fruit, so... Oh - I cut the kids age off at 16. This was a pretty natural cutoff as there was a large gap in ages. I think the next youngest was Trevor at 20 - Janice, if you want him listed as a 'kid' just let us know!!

OK, here they are...

Group Papaya:

Group Facts:
  • 16 total cabins (this could increas by 2 - I am waiting on an answer from Dee on how many cabins vs. FE's)
  • 39 Total people
  • 3 Kids
GroupPapaya.jpg

Groups Sage
  • 18 Total Cabins
  • 40 Total people
  • 7 Kids (could grow to 8)
GroupSage.jpg

OK - let me know if I need to make adjustments. Anyone that signed up that is not on the list please PM me ASAP. Anyone that wats to sign up Please go out to the website - www.transatlanticpirates.com and PM me. The plan was to add another group or more! So the more the merrier!

I know they try and keep threads at 150 - 300 or so pages. We are going to hit a part 5 the way we are going... :rotfl: Who creates the 5th part, and at what point? I want to make sure I get a page one post with the FE and tastings lists so they are easy to find...

Thanks,
Sue

OK, I have four more - any interest?

Drink of the day
Wine
Cognac
Mojitos

If you are interested let me know. If we get a good sized group I will try and reach someone at DCL and schedule. If anyone has advice on how to make this happen - I am all ears, so to speak... :)

Sue

The 5 of us would be interested in Cognac. Is there also a Margaretta tasting? We would like that as well.

Papaya and Group Sage. I couldn't think of a tropical green fruit, so...

How about Kiwi?

Geezers tend to forget things....like rules.:rotfl: If you feel like a geezer, you probably are one. I was a geezer at 58 on the PC cruise. :) And yes, all are welcome regardless of age to come see how Geezers end the day.

I might need to claim honorary GIT status. DH comes under this category. He will celebrate his 52nd birthday during our post cruise stay. I am however still a youngster with 35.

Corinna

See above, DH is welcome to be a Geezer and you certainly can be a Geezer in Training (no acronym :rotfl2: from me on this one!) Help finding our way back to the cabin is always appreciated. :goodvibes

Hey All----

Again, you are all too too chatty for me to keep up! I've been lurking but wowzer it's a lot to track!

The fish extender groups looks great to me...thanks for all the work. Will that get posted or sent out to us once it's all finalized? Or can we get it added to the website or the first post on here or something? Or should I be printing it out now?

Also......

LAST CALL FOR LANYARDS

Jason (my poor overworked DH ;))has been inputting all the lanyard requests and information into a spreadsheet here at home with everyone's DIS names, first names (for name badges) and stateroom #'s (in case I have to deliver the lanyards to your room for you and hang them on your fish extender). I already know that there are some people in our spreadsheet who are no longer on the cruise with us and so I'll be removing them. Please keep a lookout in the next week or two for the list to get posted on here. I will rely on folks to "proofread" for me to make sure that your own listing is correct (spelling, etc.) and PM me with any changes or corrections; and also if you see someone on the list who you KNOW or suspect is no longer on the cruise, PM me with that information so that I can reach out to them to confirm.

Also, if you want lanyards and haven't signed up yet, please contact me ASAP either via PM or by email at wbtalanyards@yahoo.com I will be closing requests for lanyards at the end of next week on Friday, April 16th!! This will give me time to check and doublecheck the accuracy of my list so I have a good count to order the actual lanyards and start making the name badges.

Also, lanyard team members...be on the lookout for a PM from me sometime in the next couple weeks with information about how to contribute, etc. (There is probably room for a few more folks to join the lanyard team, too, if anyone wants to chip in...you can PM or email me)

How about Kiwi?

Not sure on margarita tastings. I have reached capacity - so if someone can organize, it never hurts to ask, yes? :confused3

Kiwi it is - I will make the change. We now have papayas and kiwis :cool1:

I am getting more excited each day for this cruise. Seeing the FE lists makes it somehow more real. Can you believe how fast time is flying by toward this cruise???

Waiting patiently to know what you need me to do/contribute!!
