A kilt really must eat up your allowance, but we will be so pleased to see him in it!!!:thumbsup2

I was wondering the same thing?

25 actual FE's is what I was aiming for. And I wanted to put people with kids in a group with other people with kids... I tried to figure it out last night, but the more I tweaked the requirements, the harder it became...

So, this weekend for certain...

Oh, and I am open to suggestions... When I think about what I am doing, I have a cabin gift and then things for kids. That way we can leave something in every pocket... Am I going over board? :confused3

Sorry, my DIS-order seems to be flaring up again today... :rotfl:

Gosh, I was worried about my DD's who will be 8 & 9 throwing tantrums. At least it's more acceptable for a 2 year old to do one! Someone suggested we score them, My 8 year old does a really good one!:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Well, if we are going to rate FITs, please let me know when that is happening and I will make sure Becca is there... :) She can throw a doozie...

Thanks for this you're a star! I think we have a great list of activities
We'll see how it works out. So far it looks as if we will be grabbing some tables and everyone going and getting their ice cream.

Hello everyone.
Sorry its been such a long time since I posted.
You guys go through the pages at such a fast pace I wouldnt have been
able to keep up. I have looked in from time to time though.

Carl and I have booked one of the Med cruises in May with the money I have saved with quitting smoking (9 months). Anyway we have had to concentrate on that because there are lot of ports and we are trying to decide what to do on a budget !!.

Anyway excuses over, I would love to start to join in with you all on a regular basis from now on.

I/we are on the role call, but our details again ....
Me Jan
Hubbie Carl
Late dining
Cabin 6078
Cruised once before on the Magic.

For the question about Formal night :- I love dressing up, I have already bought two new dresses and Carl has bought a Tux. So yes we will be.

Anyway enough said dont want to bore you. :)
Jan
:welcome: Were 7 cabins down in 6092.
Congrats on actually saving the money from quitting smoking:thumbsup2. I just found other ways to spend it.

Some good news today. I was able to downgrade our stateroom category from Cat 8GTY to Cat 10GTY and save $1000, while confirming we wouldn't lose the additional $100/pp OBC. Every little bit helps!
Very cool! :thumbsup2 Now we have to get together and do our own excursions and keep the costs down.

When Stephanie and I travel to WDW or do a Disney cruise, we ask each other each day how old are we today? If I am 4 years old that day, I just might pitch a fit????!!!! :lmao: Does that count???:rotfl:

I don't mind if it is adults and kids combined. That is usually the case. Because of that, some folks might have already gotten things for kids???

I have been on two cruises with Don "Ducky" Williams and have found him to be very generous. He usually does a talk about how he got started and while doing that he draws several characters. I really wanted the Captain Hook one as he is my favorite bad boy. I digress....Anyway, after the talk he raffles them off to the auidance (you get the ticket when you enter the talk).

If anyone gets the chance you should go. You might get lucky!:thumbsup2

So a FE might have 1 person, 2 people or 4 people or even as much as 6 people if 2 rooms are doing 1 FE? So if you're ina group that has kids you could have 36 people (if you're doing individual gifts) vs. a group without kids might only have 25 people?

We don't have kids, but, while I haven't gotten everything yet, I was planning on a few kids in the group. Personnally, I think I prefer assigning the groups by FE (keeping in mind an equal number of people in each group, as close as possible).

I have been making my FE gifts, but I was making them for the DIS member and not for the family. Thanks for sharing this perspective, maybe I should re-consider and make bags that will be for the whole cabin. That way the kids can grab out what they want. No matter what was in our FE gifts the kids were just excited to run to the cabin to see if there was anything in the FE extender. I do not think they even care what it was. It was like their Birthday everyday. :lmao:

Thanks Sue!

:cool1::cool1:

When do they normally get released, 30 days out? Do they get released earlier sometimes?

I think 25 cabins? So you can do a gift for the whole cabin, or seperate gifts for everyone in the room. So, I intend on doing the kids their own gifts, and then adults seperately.

:thumbsup2 Another fine fit for us to enjoy since it is, of course, someone else's kid! :)

We love seeing the kilts as well. :lovestruc

We got Minnie Mouse the first time we saw him. :yay:

Totally agree with this.....and us big kids are just the same. We pat the FE everytime we return to the room and giggle with glee if there is a small trinket in there!! :dance3:

My Dad won a Scrooge one he drew at his talk on the 11 night Southern Caribbean Wonder cruise. He was so jammy lol! I didn't even know he was in the talk as I left him at the bar to go. He had come along a little late and the staff gave him one of the last raffle tickets! I so wish I had got one!

We (read that to be "I") got Lady.

I won the Mickey Mouse he drew at one of his demonstrations on the EB PC cruise. It's hanging in my DS's room.

How cool is that?

Hi again and thanks for all the welcomes.

It seems like there will be a good mix of people from all over the world - even a good representation from Down Under.

Corinna my husband is a captain with EK on the 777. I did hear last week that the 380 was going to start doing the route - Chris will be dissapointed he went to Uni in Manchester and loves doing that flight.

I would love to go to a "Ducky" call painting class (although i am a terrible artist) i wonder if kids can go my DS loves art and unlike his mother is actually talented.

Lisa, my DD will be 51/2 at the time of the cruise and loves making new friends, after an initial 10 minute period of shyness. it seems that most of the kids going are a similar age so that should make it easy. and it is probably fair to say each kid will get over excited and have some form of meltdown at least once.

dressing for formal evening is always fun - to combat weight restrictions the same dress with new accessories often works. or just tell everyone else that your traveling with they can only bring one change of clothes and a swim suit and use their baggage allowance. :rotfl:

Well, our second daily flight will still be operated by a 777 so he might still get the odd trip to Manchester. Just goes to show though what a small world we live in with both of us having links to EK and Manchester.

Corinna

Below (hopefully if you can see it ;)) is the candy swap tentative groupings.

I didn't have enough people for a "Candy Only" group so for the couple of people that indicated that was their preference, I've put you into one of the "Chocolate or Candy" groups - I hope this is ok but please let me know if you don't want to continue playing.

Could I ask everyone playing to please check that I have the correct number of players in your stateroom please?

Also if you still would like to play, I'm happy to keep taking names and numbers.

Nearer sailing time, I will include stateroom numbers also and updated groupings so please do not assume this set in concrete.

After reading the posts following this message, It looks like everyone would like the kids spread out, Some people like doing them for kids even if they don't have any with them. Maybe try and focus on getting the numbers of actual people closer in each group, while keeping within 25 cabins. Does that sound right? I'm happy with whatever you decide.;)
Sue, It's actually quite a complicated job, Thanks for organising this!

You will get along just fine with my DH, He is 40 but thinks he is somewhere between 5 and 25 depending on his mood! Well, that's how he acts!:lmao:
