Glad you are all signed up! Hope that your son is ok - how old are your kids? We have a 13YO DS (turned 13 today) and a 6YO DD.

Have a great time on the EB!

My son will turn 13 one month from today - while we are on the EBTA - if your son would like to "connect up" with Aaron and become friends before the cruise please email me at akblair@charter.net and I can share his info - facebook, email, etc. He loves making new friends on the cruises - he is still in contact with one of the boys from our last cruise. My DD on the other hand is the older one - she will be 15.

Hi Ya'll, Yesterday was a fun day. I got up early to go take the test to see about working for the Census. I got an 88%!!! :woohoo: I will call them Monday and let them know I am available right away for office work.

After getting more money on a Disney gift card, I met Stephanie for lunch at Paniera Bread. YUM So then we went to Costco and I found some cards for pictures on my camera since I am not taking my computer. I figure I have enough space on the two cards to take 9,000 pictures!!! I couldn't take that many even if I took a picture of doorknobs and windows!!!!! :lmao:

We weren't ready to go home just yet. So we went to a very nice restaurant and sat out on their patio and had some martinis. Mine was with watermelon and Stephaine's was a Key Lime. Very tasty. Not quite like being on the ship but the sun felt grand. After that, we said our boodbyes and since I had gotten up so early, I went home and took a nap and then was looking at shore excursions.

I am loving all of the pictures. :goodvibes

Thank you everyone for allowing me to overwhelm you with some of my trip pics. I have picked up the habit of taking WAY too many pics from my DH. You can just imagine how many pics we will take on this journey. While we were on a European vacation, he was downloading over 100 pictures a day to his computer!!

Thank you for taking us on a trip to San Francisco. Loved the photos.:thumbsup2

Loving the shore excursions. I am so ready for this trip. I can't wait.:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Hi Guys, back from Tenerife, brown and spot free for a few weeks! had a great time, went sailing and whale watching, they were actually itching on the keel, then I got to score something of mmy bucket list, I jumped into the atlantic from a vessel.....HAPPY DAYS!

Picture from balcony, bloomin macdonalds!!!!!!!!
tenerfie.jpg

Im never going to get through ALL the post tonight but wanted to check in with you guys!
I'm arranging a candy bar swap. I thinking that if anyone interested brings a baggy of "snack size or mini" candy/chocolate bars then we can either meet to swap or do a FE drop?

I guess it depends how many people are interested.

So if you want to play - let me know :rotfl2:

I'll be bringing Moro bars
2179739888_5507ecfb86.jpg

Stolen from Wikipedia - The New Zealand bar has a black wrapper with 'Moro' in yellow (see side photo). The slogan is 'Get more go' due to its high energy content. This bar has a whipped nougat and caramel centre and is covered in chocolate. There are three different types of Moro sold in New Zealand, the aforementioned 'standard Moro', the Moro Double Nut containing peanuts and hazelnuts, and the recently released Moro Gold, which is similar to the Irish Moro and the Boost Bar sold by Cadbury in Australia. It is available in New Zealand, and a very limited number of stores in Australia, although Moro is one of the miniature chocolate bars found in Cadbury Favourites. It is similar to the Australian or European Mars Bar, however within New Zealand it has eclipsed the Mars Bar, becoming something quintessentially Kiwi as well as Cadbury's best selling bar within New Zealand. It's stated on the fun facts page of the Cadbury New Zealand website that a Moro bar is consumed once every two seconds.
Count me out, I will bring goodies for evrybody but as some of you might know I struggle with my wt and will not be wanting anything in return!¬ Paula, can i have the list !!
I think you have to email DCL and they then ask for details but don't know if someone has done this before? The St Maarten beach thing seems like something a lot of us would be interested in definately. Might be worth posting on the main board and asking if anyone has organised any events with Disney before. Deanna I think organised a pirate night photographer for the TA last time.
HERE IS THE THREAD I STARTED!!!!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2347790

Well, I'm finally posting on here. We are joining you guys. I posted on website, but thought I'd let you know here too. It will be me, my husband, and two children.

I didn't see much info on the website as to what's going on. There's so many pages to look through. Any place where it's a quick update on everything? Especially, excursions, hotels, and such?

Thanks!
Lisa
Welcome from scotland!

I think we'll be there. Looks like the flight that was set up from UK to Spain had been cancelled.

On the good news side of things: Candida and I have been talking.

Now that I got you attention, we have always been talking, no problems there :goodvibes

We have decided to stop off in Netherlands to visit other friends before heading to the UK to meet up with Lyn and Bob before the cruise. So, we are one step closer, booked our flight to Amsterdam today:yay::yay:

Our vacation will begin on Sept 3. Something tells be I'll be on autopilot when they expect me to be working nights on the 2nd. :rotfl:

is this the right way to post a picture to the group?
lovely:thumbsup2
You might find offers of reasonable price paid upgrades come closer to PIF date. I think if you have booked with DU or another firm you will get the offer through them via email. We had offers for both our cruises last September, but for us as a couple it wasn't worth it as it was only from a 6 to a 4, so just extra space at the end of the room which we didn't need. Also we had chosen or stateroom, and we wouldn't have a choice of an upgraded room.

I'm thinking of asking for a 'do not want to upgrade' to be put on our reservation this time as I like the room we have chose. That is in case they just decide to move us with a free upgrade closer to the sail date without asking.
You need to put a "give my upgrade to Lynne" on your account, Ive never had one and really never will expect or hope for one!
Ok, this will sound weird... But... Do any of you EU folks shop at ASDA? They are one of our customers and people from the states that have gone to our Stokenchurch office rave about them. They are the UK counterpart of Walmart. I am curious what there is to rave about and if I need to try and find one on the trip.

Funny, I am interested in seeing their stores (we do their warehouse management and labour) and have no desire to meet with the PepsiCo people that are in Barcelona... Of course, If I can turn part of the trip into business I think I can get a rebate on my airfare and hotel... Hmmm.... MIGHT be worth considering...
Asda, tesco, sainburys, as far as I am concerned they are a Necessary eveil, now walmart, give me 2 hours in that shop any day!
Just popped in to try to catch up on all the great topics of conversation all you lovely people have had going past few weeks!

I can't keep up with you all at the moment, because of busy scehdules, but I am still with everyone, albeit a few steps behind.

Some great ideas for the cruise, can't believe how organised everyone is!

Tomorrow we are off to Kuala Lumpur and Borneo for a long planned for trip. See you when we get back! :yay:

Lyn and Bob
Have a great trip you 2 !
Oh now see we could have a big debate over this! Unfortunately Im a bit sad and use the independant price checker My Supermarket to do my online shopping. This allows you to do one shopping basket and compare about 4 supermarkets. Tesco is actually cheaper if you don't buy branded products than Morrisons and ASDA. I don't tend to buy branded so for me its cheaper. If anyone does online shopping use My Supermarket as it is fab. Once you choose which shop to go with they will send the basket over to them for you so you only have to do it once.
I am duly impressed:worship:
We have just made a decision (finally) and booked one night at Port Orleans French Quarter for our one night in Orlando after the cruise. This will be our first time staying on property at WDW and we are so excited.
cool
Managed to access my Photobucket account but not many of POFQ on there. Most are Christmas decorations!!!!!!!

We are thinking of picking up a 1 terebyte drive just to dring with us for the number of pictures Candida will be taking. It's no problem for her to take a couple hundred a day. That's the great thing about digital compared to just a few years ago having film. It's no problem to take a few hundred and not worry about processing.

Sounds lovey, good luck with collecting disney dollars!

Hey all.

I've booked the DCL transfers with my trip think they're $70 per person. Can anyone tell me were these transfers will actually pick us up and drop us off?

Do i need these to get to WDW at the end of our cruise ??

Thanks

SW

SW, you have to let DCL know that you want to head to WDW, and which resort, after the cruise. There will be a slight bump in the price, under $5/person if I am remembering correctly. For pick-up, it is either the BCN airport or one of the DCL hotels in Barcelona.

I HIGHLY recommend the Alone Time. :cloud9:

I thought it was worth every single penny. I will be booking myself for another one this trip for sure! I was at the spa just about every day of our last 7-day cruise and this was by far my favorite treatment. I liked it even better than the cabana massage on Castaway Cay (gasp!) Both are great, but if I had the choice of one or the other - the Alone Time would win hands down!

I have some pics somewhere if you want to see them.

You know - they sell Disney gift cards are Walgreens now. You could mention to your friends and family how convenient they are to pick up. Then you can apply them to your stateroom when you check in for the cruise. :thumbsup2

Disney gift cards are a sore point up here in Canada. We can only buy ones that can be cashed at the Disney store locations up here.

So I think a card with the DCL gift hotline and easy 1. 2. 3. steps on how to gift OBC, might do the trick, lol.

Oh, sorry! I have friends in Winnipeg and I remember them saying something about that. I forgot.

Hopefully you'll get your DCL credits one way or the other!

I had a couple of questions about taxis in Barcelona. I've read that it's about 30 Euros from the airport to hotel - is that about the same as hotel to port, or is that cheaper? Also, do taxis in Spain get tips? My research seems to indicate no.

My group of home friends :grouphug: doesn't like knickknack stuff, as we all seem to be very picky, so we always check in to see if a gift receiver is saving towards something then we help them towards it. If the receiver does not have a goal we get gift cards to their favourite shop or restaurant. We will add on small items to go along with the theme of the project.

I've done a lot of traveling to Spain. Tipping isn't the official policy, but in my experience it's pretty customary to round up a little bit on the fare. So, if it's €28, I would just pay €30. If you put luggage in the trunk (and who isn't when going on a cruise!), an extra couple € is customary but not required. (Taxi drivers at the airport are accustomed to dealing with luggage wearas the drivers in the city usually aren't.)

I always try not to be the ugly American, without being extravagant.

I'm dreaming about the stone massage. Heaven.:love::love:

I'm thinking about my second massage being the alone time with the ginger glow. Terry said it was wonderful. :goodvibes

I can't believe we will be steps away from the spa and the bar.

Spa.... bar.... spa... bar....

Is it September yet???:love::banana::hippie::rotfl:
