I need to whine for a moment.
My just got fired yesterday and I was worried about canceling the trip.
after about 2 seconds I decided that there was no way we were canceling. I don't care if were paying for it for 10 years... we're going.

I am so sorry to hear about you job. I was hoping that this craziness would stop. We had a recruitment ban for nearly two year, but not only are we now replacing the people that have left during this time, but we also just had 60 new jobs approved in our office bringing the total up from 240 budgeted jobs to 300. There are other employers in the area as well that are having a bit of a recruitment drive. Maybe the UK is just stronger in that respect. I glad that you are still coming on the cruise though.

I will pass on the chocolate swap. DH is very allergic to chocolate and although I love the stuff, I am on a fairly strict diet that does not allow sugar. I was so pleased that DCL is offering sugar-free desserts as I do have a bit of a sweet tooth.

I contacted the Praktik Barcelona to see if they would accept any packages sent to the hotel prior to arrival. They will, here is the reply:

Thank you for contacting the Praktik Hotel. You are welcome to send us a package before your arrival.We will store it in one of our lockers until you get here. You are required to pay €2 per day for the locker.Please, if possible, let me know how many days before your package will arrive. We will be waiting to hear from you. If you have any other question, please don´t doubt contacting us.

Just be careful with the customs charges. If customs decides to inspect your package, this can easily delay it for up to one month and if they decide to charge you customs charges and import tax, then you will have a lot of hassle locating the package and paying for it if it has not been returned to sender before you even get there. I have just been told by a friend in the USA that she received back a package yesterday that she sent to me in August, it was inspected by customs, but they never notified me that I needed to pay a customs charge.

The free allowance for sending stuff by post/ courier is a lot lower than when you bring the stuff with you. For instance when I come back from the USA, I can bring back GBP300 worth of stuff before I get charged. For anything send by post, the allowance is only GBP35 and they even apply whatever was paid for postage and insurance when they calculate if I will be charged. I am not sure what the exact numbers are for Spain, but they are pretty similar throughout Europe.

Where can I get the logos for the cruise in their largest (suitable for printing on a t-shirt) form?

I love the look of official t-shirts, but would love the ability to customise them a bit - family name, own slogan etc

I would PM the Captain (DisneyVegas1). As he is handling the official t shirts, he probably has the graphics in the right size.

That's a good idea. I had a 'whatyamacallit' what I was in CA in Februaryand loved it. Its a peanut-flavor crisp candy topped with a layer of caramel and dipped in chocolate has a name and a taste that's hard to forget! The candy bar is produced by Hersheys.

Does the swap have to be chocolate?

I guess any sort of candy would work equally well. Personally I don't care what it is as long as its edible and preferrably not fruit (although fruit is nice too lol)

Just been listening to the latest DIS Podcast.

Seems DCL are requesting that people stop taping stuff to their stateroom doors as it's damaging them.

Now i know this is nothing new and all of us WBTA folks will only be using magnets on our doors, but just thought it was worth mentioning in case anyone is planing to decorate their door and didn't already know that DCL request NO TAPE.

With the ever growing list of great activities being planned i wouldn't be surprised if "Best decorated door" made it onto the list.

Put it in the hold I would as they are climate controlled and should be fine. Just make sure they are wrapped and kind of central in the case to avoid breakages.

I saw we could upgrade on our reservation so I called. We dropped the transportation charge and did an upgrade. We are now on deck 8 cat 4!!!!!! All this for an extra $55pp. I made the change on the roll call

Ouch I am still hoping for a free upgrade If I get upgraded to a 9 I will be pleased ... I may even pay to upgrade from the 9 to a verandah last minute if available and if the price is right. Will be happy with the 11 though, so no worries either way as I will be on the Disney Magic

Has anyone ever stayed at a moderate WDW resort? Which one would you recommend? Which one is the nearest to Magic Kingdom? I quite fancy the Port Orleans resorts ... how long to bus to Magic Kingdom from there?
