Thanks Sarah ... that would be great :goodvibes

Maybe we could do 2 scavenger hunts ...... an onboard " Collect things and answer questions" one and a photographic one for when we get back.

What do you all think? Would anyone be interested in doing this ?

Well, if you two want to organize a photo scavenger hunt, then I could do the on board one. I will be on the Magic in less than 6 weeks time and intend to spend a lot of time on the ship as a lot of the ports don't really appeal to me. So there would be plenty of time to put a scavenger hunt together for our cruise.

Corinna

Can you pop my name next to the ground transport arrangements for now please?

LOL I heard about that I can just imagine (get the image out of my mind)! :rotfl2:

We have a cat 11 which we can show off (we did this the first sea day on the EBPC so the rooms were still tidy) LOL This was a VERY popular activity - I think we had over 100 people and it was also the first time some of us met. The cast members onboard wanted to know what we were doing. :rotfl:

I'm happy to volunteer for this (I think someone else did also so don't want to step on any toes). Coming off the cruise we have a rental car and will be visiting local thrift stores can easily donate any surplus books also. I'm a big user of the book exchange so it would be great to have it right outside my door LOL

We had a good one on the EBPC one (I sound like a broken record). We had 50 items on a list with various point weightings associated with them and had 1 hour in which to take a photograph of as many as possible - the photo had to have a team member also in it so people couldn't cheat. It was very competitive and lots of fun tearing about the ship. I could see if anyone has the list for someone to base a new one on.

This is a GREAT idea - especially if people end up changing cabins that are involved in activities such as FE swaps/secret Mickey etc.

Thanks Paula. I added you down for the bus and the room tour. Also put you down for the book exchange too! If anyone wants to do something different mind or move to something feel free. Its just so we can keep track of things.

I'm arranging a candy bar swap. I thinking that if anyone interested brings a baggy of "snack size or mini" candy/chocolate bars then we can either meet to swap or do a FE drop?

I guess it depends how many people are interested.

So if you want to play - let me know :rotfl2:

I'll be bringing Moro bars

I love this idea and definately like the FE exchange option. Im going to try and bring in some proper milky ways (not the American ones! They are Mars bars lol more like 3 musketeer bars)

We would love the details fo the scanveger hunt. Sarah and I are working feverishly on it.

As for the dry erase board - I am willing to have one out - just not sure how convenient it will be - we are in 8002.

Stolen from Wikipedia - The New Zealand bar has a black wrapper with 'Moro' in yellow (see side photo). The slogan is 'Get more go' due to its high energy content. This bar has a whipped nougat and caramel centre and is covered in chocolate. There are three different types of Moro sold in New Zealand, the aforementioned 'standard Moro', the Moro Double Nut containing peanuts and hazelnuts, and the recently released Moro Gold, which is similar to the Irish Moro and the Boost Bar sold by Cadbury in Australia. It is available in New Zealand, and a very limited number of stores in Australia, although Moro is one of the miniature chocolate bars found in Cadbury Favourites. It is similar to the Australian or European Mars Bar, however within New Zealand it has eclipsed the Mars Bar, becoming something quintessentially Kiwi as well as Cadbury's best selling bar within New Zealand. It's stated on the fun facts page of the Cadbury New Zealand website that a Moro bar is consumed once every two seconds.

Count me in! I will have to find the hearest Hershey store... mmmmm!!

I have not heard of DCL setting up a separate one for DISers. Has anyone else had any experience with a private tasting sponsored by DCL?

Actually, a private cognac tasting was my personal pixie dust on my last cruise. I complained to Rodolpho, who also hosts the tequila seminars, that the time for the cognac tasting was awful - 9:30 is too early for anyone with late seating to make! He agreed and offered to host a cognac tasting for me and my family any time that was convenient for us. We agreed on the last night at 10:15, and had a great time. I'm not sure how one would arrange it from off the ship, but I'm sure they would agree to offer one for DISers if you asked the right person.

OK - I should have read all the pages before replying! LOL, we are really getting chatty! Are trying to get to part 5 or 6? :rotfl:

If Corina will do the on board hunt, I am willing to make ours the photo hunt, with a proze sent to the winner after the cruise. Sarah - are you good with this??

Also - we were thinking of moving the hardrock meet to the 16th as we have a meet on the 17th with Lynne?

One more (I could have made it 3 posts to help the cause... :) )... Has anyone prearranged meeting places on board? Does DCL do this? If they do, I am willing to make some calls, and try to set up some photo ops, etc. However, I am new to this meet thing - so where do groups normally meet to get group photos taken?

OK - I have to try and get motivated to work now... :surfweb: Shoot - it isn't working... I have DIS on the brain...

Just wondering if there is a fee for the beer/wine/martini/tequila/cognac tasting sessions on board as I can't remember.

It would be great to have group sessions for this but how we would organise it ahead of time I don't know ..... might have to wait until we get there.

This sounds great! Would this have to be arranged once on board? It would be great if we could get a tasting series for our group set up...

Sue ..... the Hard Rock meet on the 16th ..... count us in for that one !!! Will it be for a meal or just pre-dinner drinks?

Re: DIS meet on board - Last time we had our DIS meet at 3pm on embarkation day at the Promenade Lounge. This is after most people had their lunch and found their cabins, but before the safety drill. I don't know if timings will be the same on the TA cruise though.

Re: the scavenger hunt .... happy for whatever. We could all 3 collaborate our ideas and take it from there.

While we are organising things in such an organised way .... are we going to be organising our dining so that we can sit with other DIS group members. DH and I would love to do this if anyone else is interested ???? We are late dining!

We would love to sit with others! Not that I don't want to meet everyone, but I would love to sit with someone that has kids - or at least someone that is around Beccas age (she just turned 6, and tends to be very shy at times). Stephen (13) may not want to do dinner with us every night - but will most nights...

ow many large tables are there? If we link ressies can we fillthem all? :)

We'd be happy to sit with others - but at 6 already, we'd only have room for 2 more. Anyone want to sit with us? Our kids are super cute, and do fine at the dinner table. We are booked for early dining.

I'd love to participate in a meet on the first day.

I don't think we can do the Hard Rock on the 16th for sure, as I think we'll need to be responsive to the kids' needs that day, and with the possibility of real jet lag, we may not be fit for company. I think our plan is to meet up with my mom, check in to our hotel, and take the bus tour thingie. Then grab some early dinner somewhere on Las Ramblas, check out a little nightlife after dinner, then tuck in. My kids usually wake up around 7am EST so that could be a little early Barcelona time the next morning!

How old are your kids? Maybe we can get a table of 10 - They did that for use when we were a group of 17. We had 2 10's and a couple of empty seats. That way we could rotate... Also - are you early or late seating? We are late...

I think its like $15 per session or something like that. They did Brandy tasting on the last TA as well!
