Wow, you guys stay busy it is hard to keep up.

I was going through my old planning stuff from the repo a few years ago. I had listed the Chocolate factory in Barcelona, but we just did not have time. I was wondering if anyone had gone and whether they think it is worth planning to do?

How can i put photo's on this forum. Or maybe it's easyer formy to put them on my Hyvespage.

I will do that tomorrow.

Hi, i have already put some photo's on my hyves.

www.hyves.nl search (zoeken): Connie gemert and you will find me a photo off me and my man and a Ferrari.

For those of you that have travelled in Europe before, specifically Barcelona. Do you think a slash-proof bag is necessary?? The best one I found is $80. That's a little high for a small backpack, especially 'cause I already have a small backpack, but I will have my dslr in it. What do you guys think?

Necessary?

The bag I'm looking into is the Pacsafe TourSafe Sling/Backpack. It is slash-proof & also has hidden zippers to protect from pick-pocketing.

Also, pacsafe has a slash-proof camera strap. Do you think this is also necessary? I've read so much about the pick-pocketing. It has me worried.

TIA :grouphug:

I will ask John when he returns. He took a Pacsafe coversave travel waist wallet. He really liked it when I purchased it for him.

Hi Everybody,

Well, we made a decision last night that we didn't want to have to do, but we have to face reality. We can't do this cruise. Money has gotten tight. My work is down to just about nothing so I am basically unemployed and being self employed, not able to collect unemployment. We just bought a vacation home in Florida and hopefully that will start generating some income, but with the construction industry being what it is here in CA, we don't see my business picking up anytime soon. My DH had to use some of his vacation to help get the Florida house up and running so vacation time for him is tight too.

It's been nice meeting a few of you and chatting with many. I am always in awe of how helpful and friendly everyone on the DisBoards seems to be and this Thread is no different. Our ships will pass again I am sure.

Bon Voyage,
Linda

I'm sorry to hear that. Times are hard and some difficult decisions are having to be made. I hope you get to enjoy your new Florida home very soon.

It's so sad - I feel like every week we lose another fellow traveler to the economic downturn! I was really afraid my income taxes were going to eliminate this trip for me, but fortunately it worked out okay. My concern now is gathering enough spending money to cover the shipboard expenses/excursions. I can do this trip super lean if I need to, but I prefer to be a little less tight-fisted when I travel.

OY!! I cannot keep up with you guys!!:lmao::lmao: I'm so far behind in reading this thread it isn't even funny.....but I figured it was time to start getting more active.

Apparently we're all telling our how did you meet your significant other stories?? Well here's my and Jason's story....

I was at a community event for LGBT youth and college students (he was 22 and a senior in college at the time) a few weeks before Christmas of 2002 and saw Jason across a room and became instantly infatuated. I talked to him a little at the event....but not really hitting on him or anything because I was actually there for work and I was older (28) and he was there as a college student so I didn't think it was really appropriate. Fast forward then to a separate community event (a big fundraiser gala event for a local non-profit in our area) the day before Valentine's Day of 2003, just a few months later, and we were both there...but this time I wasn't working and was there with some friends and he was alone...and so I said..what the heck!! We spent most of the rest of the gala talking and dancing and went out to a midnightish breakfast at a hideous little 24-hour diner after the gala ended. We went on our first real date on Valentine's Day 2003....and we've been together almost every day since then (7 years this past Sunday!).....and now we're totally domesticated-----bought a house, bought 2 Disney Vacation Club contracts (I introduced Jason to Disney and got him hooked), adopted a cat (in addition to the Noble Macaw, a small breed of parrot, that I already had and our 70 gallon aquarium), and spend all our time working to save up money to pay for extravagant Disney Vacations! :thumbsup2
Very cute, but I miss you guys, can you please keep up:goodvibes....p.s. theres always a cat:lmao:they see a weak lovable person ans move in like stealth:thumbsup2

Sorry to hear this, Linda. We enjoyed meeting you and will again sometime.

We will try once again to keep the shipboard expenses down also. Unfortunately we usually are not very successful at that! :sad2: The spa gets us everytime! I am going to really try to just do the rainforest this time.

I was watching the Snowboarding yesterday! Somehow I became an expert overnight as was saying things and then the commentators were saying the same thing lol!

The snowboarding is fun! I love figure skating...I try to get on the computer before the prime time show starts so the Olympics have my undivided attention.

When did your do your International Program? Were you there in the spring of 2003? I did a CP during the spring of 2003 so I was wondering if we were there at the same time! :)

Erik, that is such a cute story!

Does anybody who did the TA before remember how much the Rainforest was for the length of the cruise? We did a one day pass there and I loved it! The heated seats are the best!

I personally have both a PacSafe backpack and the camera strap. I would not travel anywhere without either. I have invested too much money in my camera equipment to take a chance. On our last Med cruise someone attempted to cut the strap on my daughter's pac safe bag in Pisa and absolutely failed. The great thing was a police officer saw it and arrested the person.

This is on my list to try and do before the cruise... Not sure Glenn or the kids will want to though...

=LittleDisneyLovers;35443288]Welcome, How exciting, more Aussies. We live at Hope Island, are you close by? We have 2 girls, no boys.

We are only down the road, we live at Coombabah.

It really is a small world!!!

Sorry to hear that, That's one less princess aboard for my DD's to play with!

Oh, Just thought I'd add. I sent an e-mail to DCL about the OBC, being all the way over her in Australia I wasn't sure whether we'd get any letters. Anyway.....they sent an e-mail back confirming that we qualify for the OBC.
So for those who are trying to work out the deal, we booked 20th October 2009 and paid in full, we are first time cruisers, Cat 10GTY. I'm as confused a the rest of you! Good Luck :littleangel:

I'm not surprised someone tried to cut the strap. I am surprised that a police officer actually did something.

I'm glad to hear your daughter did not lose her belongings.

So sorry to see so many dropping out of the cruise, the economy really stinks!!!:headache:

Ok... our story...

Howard and I met in a science class in high school, I think we were 15.His attention getting line was a slap on my rear with a ruler:lmao: He was seeing one of my friends at the time:rolleyes1 Dumped her and rode stright towards me. He had a motorcycle at the time. Then he moved to Huntington Beach(CA), and we continuted to see each other only on weekends.
Dated for a while and married in 1970 have 3 grown kids and have 14 grandkids. :scared1:
We will be celebrating our 40th anniversary on the cruise.

Hi! we noticed your post re: transportation to the port from La Ramblas - We tried to PM you but as yet don't have 10 posts. could you please PM us with details.
Regards The Diswolds

Done - let me know if you want to join the group ;)

As a special thank you for your business, we are pleased to provide each member of your party with a $100 shopboard credit. This credit can be used toward the purchase of any of our onboard amenities or your selection of Port Adventures.

Anyone know what the dates are for this - we booked on the first day bookings were available and haven't heard anything from Disney or our TA (Dreams Unlimited).

How big of a bus will we need for 50 people and all the associated luggage? :scared1:

Just trying to picture all of us on with our luggage... :headache:

We are getting a Tardis :rotfl2: Looks like it might be two buses now or we'll be sitting on laps ;)

I'm loving all the intros on people so here is ours...

I'm Paula (duh!), 35 going on 12 and I'm an IT Consultant by career (which I love - geeks rock!). I live in the South Island of New Zealand but I'm English by birth. Besides Disney, I love to read, I have 3 dogs that I'm totally devoted to (my babies) and I enjoy travel in general. I collect Cabbage Patch Kids and I'm addicted to Facebook (feel free to friend me :) )

I'm traveling with my partner Robert, he's also 35 and he's a librarian turned IT geek - he now works on the helpdesk for the same company I am a consultant at. We've been together 13ish years and have no plans on getting married or having kids, though we are "engaged". Robert's main love is gardening, he also has a great sense of humour and has me constantly in fits of laughter, he's also a cracking mimic with accents...

Also traveling with us is my mother, Marian, she's 65 and lists her occupation as "none" which drives the officials mad. She's basically been a housewife since I was born and hasn't worked (for $) since we moved to New Zealand. She's recently separated from my Dad and has a whole new lease on life. Her and Robert are dynamite together and I apologise in advance for their childish behaviour...

I think I could safely say I'm a lifetime Disney freak as I've been a Disney fan for as long as I can remember and the obsession has got worse with age. Mum and Robert both love Disney too and go along with whatever I plan. We are DVC members since 2003 at SSR.
