Oh my goodness...in 6 months from right now we will be flying over the Atlantic Ocean to get to Spain! :scared1: So excited for the cruise, not so excited to fly! I hate flying!!!!

I think I am going to be the only sober one on this cruise!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Not the only one, the ships Capt. is hopefully sober as well:lmao:

We don't drink either so unless they up the alcohol content in Root Beer we'll be there with you.

Jon

By the way .... is anyone planning on eating in Downtown Disney when in Orlando .... check out this thread for a really good deal for the House of Blues restaurant. No good for us Brits though ... you can only input a US address, but it might be useful for someone :goodvibes

Sarah,

Could you use the address of a friend in Orlando to get it?

We would love to sit with others! Not that I don't want to meet everyone, but I would love to sit with someone that has kids - or at least someone that is around Beccas age (she just turned 6, and tends to be very shy at times). Stephen (13) may not want to do dinner with us every night - but will most nights...

ow many large tables are there? If we link ressies can we fillthem all? :)

I have a 6yr old son and a 3/almost 4 yr old daughter! We currently have 4 adults (us 2 and the grandparents) and the 2 kids at our table for early dining. If linking dinner doesn't work, we could always plan a get together lunch early in the cruise so the kids can make some friends.

Also - we were thinking of moving the hardrock meet to the 16th as we have a meet on the 17th with Lynne?

Has anyone prearranged meeting places on board? Does DCL do this? If they do, I am willing to make some calls, and try to set up some photo ops, etc. However, I am new to this meet thing - so where do groups normally meet to get group photos taken?

I have sent a message to my #2 daughter who works in the marketing dept. at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas to see if she can help set up something in Barcelona. It would have to be on the 17th. I'll keep you posted.

When I was on the Miracle, we (CC group) arranged for the use of a meeting room on board. The cost was $12 per person, which included two bartenders and an open bar for an hour. I'm sure Disney could arrange something similar.

While we are organising things in such an organised way .... are we going to be organising our dining so that we can sit with other DIS group members. DH and I would love to do this if anyone else is interested ???? We are late dining!

We are late dining, also. Leaving all the kids at home this time!

:goodvibes I get to BCN at 8am, I hear that HRC is a place not to miss.

Another hint on the Dinning groups, think in groups of 18, generally a serving team will be responsible for up to 18 diners, made up of a 4 top table, a 6 top and an 8 top.

My last big DIS cruise we were a table of 15 at a 16 oval top, (there is only one per dinning room,) and our team also took care of a 4 top. There are a couple of 12 top oval tables as well.

If you can give to Disney a list/spreadsheet grouped in sets of 18, the dinning team is very appreciative.

I know it is on the website but... (Besides, the way today has been, why not one more post... :rotfl2:)

We are uo to 87 families!!! WAHOO!!! However, there are quite a few without a picture. If you are one of those - and you know who you are - please consider sending a photo in! They should be sent to photos@transatlanticpirates.com

Thanks!!
Sue

I sent a photo in, but I don't see it up yet. If you need me to resend it let me know.

Thanks Sue!

I did send a picture over a month ago. I don't know how to size a picture so I sent what I had from my photobucket account.

Paula ..... I had volunteered to do the book exchange bag but please feel free to do this, you are definitely not stepping on any toes :goodvibes
Thanks - I'd be happy to do it.

Can you just tell us how the photograph scavenger hunt was judged .... did everyone just hand over their cameras to the organisers? If you can get hold of the list that would be great.
As everyone could start when they liked (within the time window) - we all got back at slightly different times so the organisers just took the camera for a few minutes to verify the score.

Looks very like a British Mars Bar .... so DH will be very happy as it's one of his favorites:goodvibes. We would like to take part in this candy bar exchange too so you can put us down. Do we have to decide now what we are bringing or can it be a surprise :goodvibes

We get Mars bars here too - they are similar except they have the caramel layer too - Mars bars here don't have that, they are just the nougat bit.

Thanks Paula. I added you down for the bus and the room tour. Also put you down for the book exchange too! If anyone wants to do something different mind or move to something feel free. Its just so we can keep track of things.

Thanks!

I love this idea and definately like the FE exchange option. Im going to try and bring in some proper milky bars (not the American ones! They are Mars bars lol more like 3 musketeer bars)

I have no idea what Milky bars are - proper or otherwise and we can't get musketeers here either so thats one I haven't tried either!

We would love the details fo the scanveger hunt. Sarah and I are working feverishly on it.
.

Will see what I can do...

We'd love to have Dis'ers share our table. We are early dining and are 3 adults.

I will bring Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, I promise.

I LOVE them ... and did I mention we don't get them here?

Paula, nice of you to volunteer for the book exchange.

On prior cruises, we donated the excess books and magazines to the crew. They appreciate them, and it saves having to carry the items off the ship.

Woody

Good idea! I'll keep that in mind.

Well, I'm finally posting on here. We are joining you guys. I posted on website, but thought I'd let you know here too. It will be me, my husband, and two children.

Welcome Lisa!

I think I am going to be the only sober one on this cruise!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm with you - I'm a non-drinker and so is my Mum. Robert might have the very occasional glass of wine.

Not the only one, the ships Capt. is hopefully sober as well:lmao:

Good grief - I hope so! :rotfl2:

YES please - we are early dining and love the idea of being at a table/area with a number of other groups!

OMG... it took me over an hour to read all the posts!!! And I was gone from the Dis for a few days!!!:lmao:

Welcome all newcomers!

We wouldnt mind joining forces for dining, we are on late dining and we will be having "guests" a few nights. So a table for us (2) and "guests(2 or 3) a table for 8 or more is fine.

Add my name for the chocolate swap...I'll have to give that a thought or two.

And ... BTW... I took 1st place in the Photography division this year(again).

I'll post it asap. Some may know where the pic was taken :lmao:

Ann :rolleyes1

We stayed at WL the first time we were onsite. We really liked it. The boat was a really nice method of transportation. I hear Artist Point is a very nice place to eat.

Ohh Buffallo Steak at Artist Point was fab! It melted in your mouth!

Should I just list the new things we are interested in? If so:

Ladies' tea (Tru too)
All the tastings of alcohol  (DH, Tru and me, terapin)
Cabin tour: we are connecting cat 5s: 7080 (Tru) 7082 (terapin), and a GTY11.
PJ breakfast (willing to volunteer on this)
Ladies' lunch (Tru too)

I am also one of the coordinators for the FE Contest. I know that TotallyAngelic volunteered a prize. Any others?

Thanks for this! You're a star!

I think we'll be there. Looks like the flight that was set up from UK to Spain had been cancelled.

On the good news side of things: Candida and I have been talking.

Now that I got you attention, we have always been talking, no problems there :goodvibes

We have decided to stop off in Netherlands to visit other friends before heading to the UK to meet up with Lyn and Bob before the cruise. So, we are one step closer, booked our flight to Amsterdam today:yay::yay:

Our vacation will begin on Sept 3. Something tells be I'll be on autopilot when they expect me to be working nights on the 2nd. :rotfl:

Jon

Oh sounds like a good plan!

Also - has anyone tracked people that have had to drop? I wanted to keep the roll call cleaned up, but have lost track. If anyone has a good memory and / or has been tracking, ban you let us know if anyone needs to be removed?

Thanks!!
Sue

Sue I noticed Hadley was still on there and I know theyve dropped off. I haven't really been keeping track these last few weeks. I'm going to adopt your roll call list into the navigator before the cruise so its on there so hopefully people will keep it up to date.

Thanks - I'd be happy to do it.

Oh Milky Ways are yummy. I also realised I went a bit mad and put Milky bars which are a whole different thing lol. I have corrected my madness now!
