Hi there,

Well I have just booked the Transatlantic WB cruise! I am heading over from Sydney Australia, my sister is on the Walt Disney World International College Program and mum and I are using the excuse of her being in Florida to make a few trips to visit!

Anyway we are also on the 11 night Med cruise on the 15 May so it should be a lot of fun.

It is nice to meet you all!

Ella

HI and welcome.

Greetings from the Magic. We are having a lovely time in the mid Atlantic, having cleared the Bermuda Triangle. I think they would call this a calm sea; just the basic rocking of a cruiseliner. We had much more rolling Halloween 2008.

Brent is CD. Natalee is still running BINGO and Neville is out about helping.

About 2200 cruisers; 1100 CC; 360 DISers; perhaps 450 kids.

Haven't seen Villians yet; I think it's Friday, along with Match your Mate.

Lynne

Hi. Glad you are having a lovely calm time. I hope it is calm for our crossing!!! Continue to enjoy the rest of your trip.

Hiya! What a good excuse! I did the IP programme in 2003/4 and had a blast.

I've booked mid week first week in july. High season starts on the 4th so they'll be all the usual extra summer stuff going on, and it's before lots of the kids break up so the crowds shouldn't be to bad. Plus i got a bit of a bargain on Eurostar website.

The original version of Space Mountain "from the earth to the moon" had much better, and much louder, music than the current "Mission 2" i think the updated version is nowhere near as good as the original.

Hey Gismo you're clearly not "selling" it right. Start with, "Let goto Paris for a few days shopping" then try "The hotels are much better value in the suburbs so lets stay there" then move onto "We can stay close to Disney an commute to the city" then "well as we're staying at Disney we might as well have a day in the Park" That always works for me.

SW

LOL its the getting them to agree to go to France bit! They all keep going - couldn't we go to Haven like last year!

So, my concern is that we are close to the PIF date - will we get enough people to get group Pineapple closer to the 15-18 cabins as the other groups? Also - is there anyone else that wants to be in multiple groups? (Or is it just Paula and I that are nutty?)

I PM'd you - happy to do more groups if need be ;)

So 2 formals and 3 semi-formals! Oh my that's a lot of clothes that aren't t-shirts and capris! What will I bring to wear? My brain is tired - does anyone want to take a stab at applying the above schedule to our cruise, given the itinerary differences?

Sounds like we need a clothing swap :lmao:

Is anyone else crushingly disappointed with the entertainment on the EBTA? I mean, Justin Guarini is the only name they have, and he's from 5 seasons ago on Idol. I was really figuring they'd have something more on par with the last TAs.

Justin who? Seriously, I've never heard of him.

I also will be forced to recycle, We have the luggage space but I need to save it for shopping in USA!!! I can't justify bringing 5 dresses that I will only wear once. :

Its gonna be two pairs of tidy pants and mix/match tops for me for all dinners... Though I do have a very nice fancy Mickey Mouse jumper which I've actually stopped wearing around Disney fans - I've been offered so many times with people wanting to buy it off me! I did wear it to semi-formal night on one cruise as its kinda sparkly :rotfl2:

That is a lot of formal/semi-formal dinners! As far as clothing is concerned, I'm going to take what I can and wear it more than once. Afterall, dinner won't taste any different if I wear the same outfit more than once. :thumbsup2

Maybe it would be easier if we swapped dining companions on a nightly basis - then we could just wear the same outfit to dinner every night :rotfl2:

The Laundry Room is the place to be ..... especially if you want to hear anything that is going on..... :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Good grief, its the source of the best gossip!

That's how I got hooked on the Dis! WinoTracy was the "troublemaker":lmao:

Tracy's great! She's my TA for cruises ;)

OMG, not more Australians!

JK - welcome aboard :rotfl:

, QLD. There are 4 Aussie families on DISboards travelling so far, oh and some Kiwi's.....It's Ok, they seem OK! :lmao::rotfl::lmao:

I represent that remark :)

Hi and welcome! :)

No idea on tortola yet.... but we booked a rental car for the drive port to airport. Just went the cheapest route for us....

We have everything taken care of- I think- except for transportation in Barcelona before the cruise. I think that's the only thing we have left to "take care of". I think......

holy macaroni that's a lot of dressing up nights...... I think we'll be eating dinner in our rooms some of those nights. DH won't want to dress up that many nights and we're packing VERY light for this trip anyway.

LOL you can join us in the "Im wearing jeans and a shirt to dinner on semi night and you wont stop me!" camp.

Thanks for the update Lynne! You're a star!

Sarah, what's your baggage allowance? You could tell your husband that smart lightweight trousers weigh a whole lot less than jeans!!!!;)

He'd end up wearing 2 pairs of jeans on the plane lol! We've got 3 x 23kg I think (brought an extra bag going out) and 4 going back.

My problem is the more of an allowance we have the more I try to take!!!:rotfl2:

LOL! I was the one who took 2 cases to WDW in 2008 and on the way back was over on my suitcase so had to pay $75 excess. Really annoying as could have had 4 cases! They didn't give me a chance to get another bag as the woman said the queue was too long and so we had to pay then and there! This time I'm taking a spare bag inside one case so I have enough room and making sure I do not take too much! Unfortunately most of my handluggage ends up being taken up by my inhaler spacer so can never get much in there! Oh well need to rationallise more lol.

Jason and I ALWAYS pack a collapsible duffle bag in the outer pocket of one of our suitcases in case we need it----and because you often end a vacation with more stuff than you started it with (between clothes you buy, souvenirs you pick up, the assortment of fish extender presents, etc. :lmao:)

Yea! The folks on the EBTA cruise confirmed that the photo CD is $399, which is the same price it was on the 7nt cruises. I was afraid they were going to raise the price to something even more unreasonable.

Hi everyone! It's been really great getting to know you all, but I've decided to cancel my cruise. It will just be too tight on my budget for this year, and I've been stressing way too much about it. I'm also really crushed about the lack of named entertainment, and the extra formal nights, which were the tipping points in my decision. Maybe I'll see you on some future Disney cruise (when the Fantasy comes out I'll definitely be sailing DCL again), but in the meantime I think I'll be checking out another line. I hope you all have a wonderful time, and enjoy all those tastings for me! :goodvibes

:scared1:$399:headache:
So can you share a photo CD? Is it worth it?

$399 is a lot of money, but as someone who's spent over $500 on pictures on a 7nt cruise (plus more to digitize the photos after the cruise) it's quite a bargain. By buying the CD, you get a digital copy of EVERY picture you have taken on the cruise. You also get 50% off any prints or print packages you decide to purchase, in case you want to get any of the borders that aren't available on the CD.

We had well over 200 photos on our 7 night and over a hundred on our 4 night cruise, so for us we still ended up paying less. Lord knows how many pictures we'd have after a 14 nights cruise.

As far as sharing the CD, what worked for us was having the staterooms linked, and having everyone take at least one embarkation photo together under my KTTW card. When we purchased the photo CD, they ask for a reference photo (usually the embarkation photo) that they use for both facial recognition purposes and for the manual verification they do when the CD is produced. They also asked which room numbers were included in the picture. We had our family and a friend who was in a separate room in our photo. Our CD ended up with all of our pictures, plus all of her pictures. There were some of our friends pictures that were taken using our KTTW card, but she took others with her KTTW card that also appeared on the CD without any problem. I don't know if having the rooms linked did anything for us other than establish a relationship in the system. We had another group of friends who were also linked to our room, but who weren't in our embarkation photo, and we didn't get any of their photos on our CD so it's more the embarkation photo than anything.

What images come on the photo CD? Is it all the shutters photos? The last time we cruised, on the Wonder in May '09, they had the digital viewing stations up but they were not offering any digital/CD package. You still had to order prints. Jason and I have written on our DCL evaluations for YEARS that we wanted to photos (i.e. Shutters photos) to be brought onto a format like Photopass where you can purchase (even at a seemingly high price point) to get all your pictures on a CD.

You see, Jason and I are photo-junkies. We seldom have photos in our own camera in which we are both together (because usually one of us is holding the camera)----so photopass and shutters are a real treasure for us (plus they often take such amazing photos). In the parks we NEVER walk past a photopass photographer without stopping and we often, if there's no line, do multiple poses! :thumbsup2 We also always buy the biggest package from Shutters, too-----but the bad thing is that we don't hang 8x10 pictures at our house. Our basement stairwell has magnetic paint on the walls and we use the walls there as a living scrapbook and 4x6 prints from all our vacations get put up there. So we always end up scanning those big pictures from Shutters and then resizing them and printing them at home as a 4x6.....so if we coudl get the images digitally on a CD that would be so much better!!

Aaaw, so sorry. I hope you find something more to your liking. There are plenty of cruiselines . I know I would choose another over Disney for an Alaskan cruise.

Definately learnt my lesson on this one and will be bringing a duffle bag!

Definately reasonable! Can't remember but can you have more than 1 room down or is it per room? I know there was debate on this when it first started?

April I'm sorry to hear this! I actually don't blame you in the slightest as the entertainment really got me too - in fact only Dan managed to convince me to stick with it.
