Well, Dennis is barely under 70. :lmao: However, he has been wearing slacks, or casual trousers since our early years. In fact.....He posted a photo on facebook from 1969 and his pants and blue polo were exactly like some he has today! :rotfl::lmao: I guess I should have updated that man at some point, but I like him just like he is. :goodvibes:lovestruc

Ok, language barrier here, what are combats.

Nice!

Oh sorry - Combats are like army style trousers.

Those are just recommendations and are in no way enforced. As long as you don't show up in shorts and tank tops, you are good. On our first cruise we had a family sitting on the next table over in jeans and denim jackets on formal night and nobody raised as much as an eyebrow. I have heard servers advise people to come however they are comfortable when the said that they would not attend dinner on formal night as they don't want to dress up.

Thanks for posting this. I will have a read tonight.

Corinna

Thanks Corinna. I'm not bothered about Formal night as he will be dressing up! Hes renting a suit and is as happy as he can be about having to wear it for 2 nights. Just not sure I can get him to wear it for another 3 on top! Hes already going "maybe we shouldn't bother with Palo"

Heather, that would be consistent with the last TA and what I was expecting not 3 Semis!

When we did the EB repo in 2008 we had 2 formals, 1 semi formals, 1 pirate and 2 themed nights - tropical and mexican

Just for those of you who haven't got their FE yet, I just received mine from another DISmember who sells them online. Not sure if I can post where, so I won't, but PM me if your interested. It is so cool, She did such a great job!
I also ordered 2 pillowslips which are embroidered with my daughters names to take to guest services for autographs, they are so cute!

That sounds much more reasonable! I think they did a Meditteranian themed night for Party Paradiso last time and the pirate one but that was it! 3 Semi formals just seems so many!

Just a warning, I heard the other day on a thread on here that Guest services have been refusing to take pillow cases some times as they are having too many requests so you may not be able to get it done. I think from the sounds of it it depended on the person at Guest Services and if they had had loads of requests before.

The £ rallied against the $ so we decided to pay it off whilst we could get a fairly decent rate.

I am still waiting out for over 1.5 (I think last time I looked it was 1.50003 but I want slightly more - Im greedy).

From the Disney Cruise Line web site:
formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress
semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:
Good luck in that. Some will be dressed for the Oscars and some will still show up in shorts just to make a point.

Hmm I'm pretty sure I bought from the same person a couple of years ago

It shouldn't be that bad on this cruise as the number of kids will be low
compared to other cruises.

Alright everyone......thanks to everyone who stepped up to the plate to help us fill out our lanyard team. There are now 22 members of the lanyard team and we had hoped to cut it off around 20......so I think we're all set!! If someone has to drop out, I will certaily put out the call for replacements! :thumbsup2

Hopefully it wont be! I really like the idea of getting one and may do in hope they will do one!

Big Thanks to all those who volunteered and to Eric (& Jason) for all their hard work!

Thanks to you all. Once I am definite I can be on the back up list.

From the Disney Cruise Line web site:

formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for women: gown or dress

semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket; for women: dress or pantsuit

Life is easy for us guys. :woohoo:
Formal nights = Suit and tie, I will change ties for the second formal night. Semi-formal = Slacks, button up shirt and Sport Jacket, I with change shirts for other semi-formal nights :cool1:
I am not a Tux guy, but I don't mind wearing a Jacket to dinner :)

Wish my other half was like that sometimes! No way hell wear a jacket except on Formal night and Palos as I told him hed be thrown out otherwise - hope he doesn't read this lol

I love dressing up, but there is no way I get DH to bring a suit on vacation. He has to wear a suit for work every day. The best I can hope for are nice slacks, a button down shirt, a Disney tie and a vest/waistcoat. This has not caused any problems on any of our cruises.

Similar to Dan. He has to wear shirt and black trousers every day and on holiday its the last thing he wants to wear. He wont wear anything that looks like Slacks out of the princaple of it lol! Smart jeans and a shirt is about his limit. Unlcess he knows its formal night he wont do it!
