I am still waiting out for over 1.5 (I think last time I looked it was 1.50003 but I want slightly more - Im greedy).

Well hang out for as long as you can. We got a horrid rate - $1.42 to £1.00 on the credit card. So much for holding out. I would also consider using Paypal if you can for the payment.

Both hubbies will be fine, so don't worry at all.:)

I know. I suppose this is why cruising DCL is such a good fit for us. We are in many ways polar opposites. I love to dress up to the nines and he prefers casual. We can both have our way and neither will feel out of place. I love all the characters and the shows, he prefers to spend the time in the gym. I like to do as many activities as I can, he would rather chill out by the pool. We both do what makes us happy and have a great vacation together.

Alright everyone......thanks to everyone who stepped up to the plate to help us fill out our lanyard team. There are now 22 members of the lanyard team and we had hoped to cut it off around 20......so I think we're all set!! If someone has to drop out, I will certaily put out the call for replacements! :thumbsup2

Thank you Lanyard Team. Greatly appreciated.

We are PIF :banana::banana:

Paid on our CC on Monday & got $1.52 rate, it really seems to depend on which Credit card you use.

Just a warning, I heard the other day on a thread on here that Guest services have been refusing to take pillow cases some times as they are having too many requests so you may not be able to get it done. I think from the sounds of it it depended on the person at Guest Services and if they had had loads of requests before.

Oh, I hope they do! The kids would be so disappointed! Maybe they will do it since it's such a long cruise, they have heaps of time to do it.:confused3 I was actually going to do a personalised pillowslip for each of the kids on my FE list, Lucky I decided against that! ;)

Hmm I'm pretty sure I bought from the same person a couple of years ago

It shouldn't be that bad on this cruise as the number of kids will be low
compared to other cruises.

Her work is fantastic, I love it! We might have matching FE'S! :goodvibes
It does seem like the kid numbers are low, but there also seems to be lots or overgrown kids :rotfl: on this cruise who may also want stuff signed. Maybe I should take something small as a back up. ;)

Hi there,

Well I have just booked the Transatlantic WB cruise! I am heading over from Sydney Australia, my sister is on the Walt Disney World International College Program and mum and I are using the excuse of her being in Florida to make a few trips to visit!

Anyway we are also on the 11 night Med cruise on the 15 May so it should be a lot of fun.

It is nice to meet you all!

Ella

Great news .... when are you going? We are thinking about it for July

I've booked mid week first week in july. High season starts on the 4th so they'll be all the usual extra summer stuff going on, and it's before lots of the kids break up so the crowds shouldn't be to bad. Plus i got a bit of a bargain on Eurostar website.

I AM SO JEALOUS! :goodvibes Good for you, Have fun! Is it just me or is the music too quiet in Space mountain, compared to WDW and Disneyland CA?

:cool1::cool1:YAY:cool1::cool1:

The original version of Space Mountain "from the earth to the moon" had much better, and much louder, music than the current "Mission 2" i think the updated version is nowhere near as good as the original.

Lucky so and so! Trying to book a girlie weekend somewhere and can't get anyone to agree to DLP

Hey Gismo you're clearly not "selling" it right. Start with, "Let goto Paris for a few days shopping" then try "The hotels are much better value in the suburbs so lets stay there" then move onto "We can stay close to Disney an commute to the city" then "well as we're staying at Disney we might as well have a day in the Park" That always works for me.

As you said, I imagine Mickey and Snow white will be bored stiff in thier cabin during all those days at sea... I'm sure they won't mind signing a few autographs. Failing that you could always carry the pillow cases with you and get them signed as you see any characters, and failing that i'm sure we've got quite a few dis-ers who know thier way around a magic marker :rolleyes1

You aren't telling me that some signatures aren't really done by the character.:scared1:

rutroh!

It may just depend on each cruise- if they get too many they have to start turning away things to sign? I hope that's the case and they aren't just discontinuing it all together. I don't mean for us- we don't plan on doing this again- we've done the pillowcases and the frames already and no real need to do it again. But it's really awesome for those that haven't before and/or if they have kids who would get a real kick out of this. So I hope they don't discontinue it completely.

They probably do get overwhelmed with it at times. Word has spread- and I imagine if TOO many people are bringing things... it's a bit of a chore for them to get them done, not lose people's items, etc.

Hi and welcome! :)

A couple of questions?

1. Has anyone booked their transportation from the port to the airport yet?

2. Has anyone ever been to Tortola? I was looking at shore excursions last night and am having a difficult time trying to decide what to do. I was hoping for a suggestion.
No idea on tortola yet.... but we booked a rental car for the drive port to airport. Just went the cheapest route for us....

We have everything taken care of- I think- except for transportation in Barcelona before the cruise. I think that's the only thing we have left to "take care of". I think......

I saw this posted from the EBTA folks!

These are the dinner menu, attire and show schedules.

Sat-Let the Magic Begin-casual-Welcome Aboard: Let the Magic Begin!
Sun-Taste of the Caribbean-casual-Ricky Kalmon
Mon-Prince and Princess-formal-Twice Charmed
Tue-rotational menu-casual-Jason Bishop
Wed-rotational menu-casual-Once Upon a Song
Thur-rotational menu-semi formal-Alfred & Seymour
Fri-Villians-semi formal-Villians Tonight!
Sat-Ttransatlantic-formal-The Dream Goes On

Sun-Pirates IN the Caribbean-casual-movie night
Mon-Master Chef-casual-musical performance by Brooke White and Justin Guarini
Tue-Around the World-casual-Cultural show, Los Mulero
Wed-Flavors of the Mediterranean-casual-crew talent show
Thur-Captain's Gala-semi formal-Dreams
Fri-Til We Meet Again-casual-Remember the Magic: A Final Farewell

So 2 formals and 3 semi-formals! Oh my that's a lot of clothes that aren't t-shirts and capris! What will I bring to wear? My brain is tired - does anyone want to take a stab at applying the above schedule to our cruise, given the itinerary differences?

holy macaroni that's a lot of dressing up nights...... I think we'll be eating dinner in our rooms some of those nights. DH won't want to dress up that many nights and we're packing VERY light for this trip anyway.

Welcome to all of the newcomers! :)

For those of you who are Marvel comic book fans, disneystore.com is now selling Marvel merchandise! Here is the link: http://www.disneystore.com/marvel/c/312601/

My DH is VERY happy about this! In the stores, we've received Iron Man 2 toys already and I'm sure there's more to come. While some people don't like the idea of having Marvel in with the Disney family, I for one am excited about the deal. I think that Disney opened up their merchandising for a whole new group of people who before wouldn't have given Disney the time of day. Do I think you'll be meeting Spiderman at the Magic Kingdom, no...but at Hollywood Studios, maybe someday!

Greetings from the Magic. We are having a lovely time in the mid Atlantic, having cleared the Bermuda Triangle. I think they would call this a calm sea; just the basic rocking of a cruiseliner. We had much more rolling Halloween 2008.

Brent is CD. Natalee is still running BINGO and Neville is out about helping.

About 2200 cruisers; 1100 CC; 360 DISers; perhaps 450 kids.

Haven't seen Villians yet; I think it's Friday, along with Match your Mate.

Lynne

Hi there, we are also Aussies travelling on this cruise. We're from the Gold Coast, QLD. There are 4 Aussie families on DISboards travelling so far, oh and some Kiwi's.....It's Ok, they seem OK! :lmao::rotfl::lmao:
Lucky you doing the Med cruise also!
Have you checked out the first page of this thread? There's alot going on if you want to sign up for anything. :thumbsup2

I thought the new versions are meant to be better? :confused3 I didn't ride the original at DL, I can only compare to DC and WDW, and it just seemed quiet and not as dark. Rock'n'Roller coaster seemed very quiet too? Maybe it just seemed quiet coz we went without the kids and my DD wasn't screaming "This is Awesome" in my ear!

I love your way of working the Disney trip for Gismo! Can you work a Tiffany diamond the same way???? :rotfl:

All those sea days, I'm sure they get up to all kinds of trouble! I wonder if we'll see a baby Snow White with big, round, black mouse ears anytime soon?:rolleyes1

Nooooo, are you kidding? :rotfl2:

Don't worry, you not at all in the minority. Quite a few of us have the same problem, both with DH's not liking the dress up days, and luggage allowance. We could always send the boys and men to Topsiders while the girls kick up their heels at Formal night! :dance3:

Thank you so much for the update! I'm glad to hear that you are having calm seas!
