Has anyone seen the photos of the Disney Dream on the main cruise board - doesn't she look stunning! The public areas look amazing. I hope she has a good itinerary as I will be looking for a cruise in October of 2011 to celebrate DH's 50th birthday.

She does look nice although Im not sure about the old fashioned look with the water slide, I love the inside state rooms.I love it all, :cutie:

This morning I purchased our flights. We're one step closer.

Hi everyone! I am new here. I just booked the cruise today! I am sailing with my DD and her husband and my two grandsons. We have done DCL before but this is our first trip overseas! Still cannot believe we booked it. My DD should be posting here soon too! Great to see such an awesome group.
I dont post much, but I am going to try. :-) Any tips from past TA cruisers would be appreciated. I get motion sick and am nervous already, but excited.
:goodvibes

Hello!!! I am CricketMOM (Vera)'s daughter! My dh and I just booked and we are so excited....and nervous! Never done a cruise this long, and this is the first time we are taking the kids out of the states. Not to mention we got a lot of saving up to do! LOL!;)
Thought we should introduce ourselves. I am Kamy, a SAHM with two boys. My husband Steve and I are DVC members and we love DCL.
My kids will be 5 and almost 4, so we are excited to see what other kids their age might be around. Any tips from previous TA cruisers would be awesome.
Just wanted to say hi!:goodvibes

welcome Kam

I was worried about a 15 night cruise when I did the Panama Canal cruise last year. My whole group did not want to get off the ship at the end. I love the long cruises now, there is always special speakers and lots of movies to see, special activities on the ship, and plenty of time to actually stop and smell the roses.

Pj

Thanks PJ! We always hate getting off the ship after 7nts, so we have no doubts we will LOVE this amount of ship time. It is just crazy to think we are taking the boys and doing this. WOW! :cool1:

Welcome, Kam and Vera. I think this will be a super cruise!

:welcome: Vera & Kamy and family :welcome:

This is our first TA cruise too. But #21 DCL cruise.
I havnt posted much because I have been busy getting ready for a week at WDW and a 7 day DCL cruise . We are leaving in 2 days!!:woohoo:
Once we get back I will be putting all my attention into this cruise!!

Be sure and check out all the information on the first page. You can sign up for a lot of fun things there.

Looking forward to chatting with you and everyone after we get back, mid month.

Dont fret about motion sickness there have several great things you can use. Theres the patches behind the ear, wrist bands, Dramamine, Bonine, look for non drowsey types, ginger pills, ginger ale and more. Just start taking it before you get on board, dont wait until you feel queasy and you'll do great.:thumbsup2

Hi Vera and Kamy and family and welcome aboard:goodvibes !!! We are Sarah and Tony from Wales and this will be our second Disney cruise - we are sooooo excited :yay::yay::yay: We are travelling without our kids for the first time since our honeymoon for this cruise which will make it a very different and hopefully more relaxing experience! I really can't wait !

I get motion sickness and last time I used the little pink meclizine pills they give out on the ship - these were wonderful and worked really well. By the 3rd or 4th day I had found my sea legs and was fine. I might try the ginger and the wristband next time.

Happy Halloween !!!!!

Welcome, Kam! My kids will be 6 2/3 and 3 5/6 on this cruise so we have your two surrounded! I'm sure they'll all have fun in the Oceaneer's Club together.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I usually take Bonine and sea bands. Thanks for the other ways of treatment. I only booked cause I didn't want to stay at home without Kam and my grandsons. But I am getting alittle excited now..never stayed in a stateroom by myself before. Trying to teach this old dog a few new tricks.. :woohoo:More to come as the 10 months fly by.

With the new additions it looks like we gotta boost the Canadian content. Guess that means us Canadians are going to have to party hard to make up for the lack of representation.

Hey everyone! Thanks for such a warm welcome!:goodvibes
We are trying to read up some of the thread but you guys have been busy for years! LOL!!!:thumbsup2
We appreciate any tips, so keep them coming!

HallsofVA- Great! It is awesome to hear you have kids around our kids ages. They have cruised before, but were so young they were in Flounders, so this is their first time in the "CLUB"!:woohoo: I really hope they take to it, but I am pretty sure they will. They have a lot of energy, so they love to participate in things. Ryan turns 5 on Aug 26 so this is pretty much his bday trip!!:goodvibes
