Ours was £73 one way per person so I was happy. We paid £80 from our regional airport last time but that route no longer flies.

Wow - £600 cheaper than us! I would prefer to fly BA, but if they're going to penalise us for needing an additional 1.5 hours flight, I may have to look elsewhere. :sad2:

I had this problem - you have to enter it as 2 separate flights: local airport - London and then London - Barcelona. That worked for me - unfortunately the times didn't so we are hanging on for good old Easyjet!

Thanks, I've given this a try and it's working out way much better! :thumbsup2 Hopefully we'll get booked up in the next couple of days, and then I can think about booking our hotel in Barcelona. :hippie:

How fabulous that you and Joe will be on the same cruise again!! I am sure you will be able to join the geezers!!

John may not come in early either but I am thinking I would like at least a day or two in Barcelona.

I can't believe it has been almost 2 years since the NYE cruise. We had such a fabulous time and loved meeting everyone. Since this time it is just John and I, we didn't even try for the Walt suite again but it was sure fun having being there and having a party.

Joe and I have been on a couple cruises since the NYE cruise. We took the girls and their BF's last Sept 08 on our wonderful Double Dip cruise. Michelle and Will got engaged during that cruise on formal night their wedding:love::love: is Dec. 19th we have been very busy getting ready for that. We really meet a great bunch of people on that cruise and most of us have stayed in touched either with FB or here in fact some of them will also be on this cruise. We are going on our next cruise Jan 16th doing an eastern going to get away and relax after the wedding !!

That sure was a great time in the Walt wonder who will have it on this cruise?? maybe, they will have a party!!:dance3::dance3: if your lurking hint hint!!:thumbsup2

I've cracked the code!

OK this is for Lynne & Gos as I think it was just us three that were effected with the weird writing but anyone else out there who also is getting the weird codes everywhere:

Signature Go into User CP and click Edit Signature from the left hand side and then save (no need to change anything)
Posts Go back to the weird posts and click Edit then just save (again no need to change anything)

This way we will all be able to see what we posted! I've done all mine so fingers crossed that Gos can do his! Lynne (Orlandothebeagle) is away this weekend but I think her post was about the dress and this is now sorted!

Thanks Sarah.

Congrats to Michelle and Will!! :bride:

We have just been too busy to cruise with John's work schedule. Hopefully, by next year things will be organized enough so we can take this cruise.

I spend most of my summer at Lake Almanor so it always seems like I am on vacation when I am there so I don't feel as deprived as John.

Would love to attend another party in the Walt!! :dance3:

NOEL!!!! :yay: DrHug (Dennis) and I are on this cruise! :grouphug: We would love it if you joined us!! You know that we are in the Geezer group! :rolleyes1

We are onboard, for now anyway!!!

Woohoo, Geezers!!:dance3::yay::dance3::yay::dance3:

No Geezers for us!!

Two more geezers checking in!

DH & I were originally booked on the 1st Baltic cruise but moved it a few weeks ago to WBTA. We are looking forward to gaining the hours back we lost on the Eastbound cruise in 2007.

We are making progress with planning, London to Barcelona flight booked and Le Meridien for the the 17th. Now waiting for the flights to open up for the trip home.

Looking forward to meeting old and new friends

Ann

(I'm not really here...ok???)

& I'd show up for the Geezers party... YOU got cookies... all we got was Booze!!!! :rotfl2:

Well I have some sad news and some happy news. The sad:sad1: news is that we had to cancel our 2010 WB TA cruise........................the HAPPY:rotfl:news is that we are are booked on the Jan 2011 PC cruise AND the Sept 2011 WB TA cruise. Yes we have to wait a bit but I can handle it since we will have 2 WDW and 2 DL trips in between now and then. So, we are sorry that we will miss all of you on this cruise but I am sure that you will understand.

Just popping in to say hello!

Things are good here. Had a totally crazy 2 weeks previous to this week, but this week has been better.

The weather here is unseasonably cool and fall-like, and the leaves are turning scarlet and yellow at the tops of the trees. My son's placenta tree is a red oak and it is almost all turned to scarlet. The kids are wearing coats to school in the mornings! I dread the first frost on my windshield.

Thoughts are on the wedding and honeymoon - our first Disney cruise! We have all our excursions and spa treatments booked, have Palo for dinner and brunch booked. I wish we could afford a concierge cabin for the TA because it has been pretty sweet to have it for the short cruise, but was quoted 22K for the 6 of us in a cat 2 with airfare for the TA. Seeing as that would pay a significant chunk of our mortgage off, I don't think that's going to happen! :rotfl: Just in case we win the lottery are on the waitlist:rotfl2:

BTW, anyone want to come and fold origami flowers for the wedding with me? They are part of the table decorations and are paper with wildflower seeds embedded in it - hoping guests will take those home and think of us in the spring.

HI everyone....I have not been on here in a long time. My DD got married Sept 5. I was really busy with that.

I wanted to let you know that I have cancelled this cruise for next year. I was in charge of the Secret Mickey. So now I need to pass it on to someone else. Please PM me if you are interested in taking this over. It is not difficult and I already have some of the info for people that have signed up and I can email it to you.

wow, I almost feel like I am intruding upon a family gathering or something. You all have been here a long while!

We just booked this cruise on our last (1st cruise ever) cruise just a couple weeks ago (7 day western carib).

Anyway, total newbie here to traveling overseas so my question today is this:

Is it really going to cost me 3x the amount to fly one way from the USA to Barcelona as it would a round trip ticket? I am soooo confused!

We would fly out of PHL (Philadelphia altho Baltimore is a possibility as well, heck I'd get myself to NJ or NYC for a deep enough discount).

We could fly into someplace else across the pond and take another flight too. Whatever works out to be most reasonablly priced.

Anyone have any advice at all? Is it to soon to book or should I be looking now? What price range should I be looking for?

Oiy! :confused3 Please help my Disboard friends!

Welcome:cheer2:

As for the airline ticket. We booked a roundtrip to Barcelona, with a fictious return date. I do not understand why they charge you so much for one way. Flights only open up 333 days before hand. My best guess for pricing is around 600.00 each, but Air Lingus has a sale on for 400.00 and I am hoping they will have the same sale next year.

And Air Lingus allows for one way tickets, most from JFK are less then $500. I have been playing with Jetblue/Air Lingus combos and now Jetblue also connects with Lufthansa. I will book a flight from BUF to JFK and MCO back to BUF, then a Flight from JFK via DUB to BCN, hopefully.

Kileybeth, I have been here since day one, and people come and go, I only post a couple of times a month or so. Welcome to the cruise!!

wow, that answered one of my questions. I have seen $330 from PHL to BCN round trip but one way was starting around $600!

so you really can book a round trip and just not show up for the return flight? no penalty for that? I wondered if they somehow closed that little loop hole or working the system if you will. We have always just flown round trip!

thanks so much.

LOL I'd come if I was closer! I love folding paper! Glad things are going well

Hey you're not intruding! The more the merrier! We're just the sad ones that booked vacations like 2 years in advance!

It probably is going to cost 3x as much for a one way! You can however get a return and just not use the second part. That's what a lot of people are doing. I think most airlines should be opening up their flights in the next few weeks. BA I belive already have. I think the best thing to do is have a look at some mock dates on all airlines and see whats cheapest then go from there. Its so hard with flights but I would try to avoid booking it as 2 seperates i.e. say flying into London then getting a flight out. European flights have stricter baggage limits so you usually only get 1 bag. If you book a flight to Barcelona that has a stop in say London you get the international baggage allowance anyway as its all one flight. Just something to bare in mind.

Well I'm glad you have booked onto a cruise that you really wanted! I hope you have a fantastic PC cruise!

We really wanted to go on the 2010 TA and we really had to weigh the pros and cons and switching to the 2011 PC and 2011 TA seemed to work out the best.
