Well, we bit the bullet and bought the wine: all $850 of it! In the car home I kept thinking, "that's a good chunk of our cruise dollars I coulda paid off!". Alas, we are the hapy owners of 4 cases of Jackson-Triggs Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot and 4 further cases of Jackson-Triggs Chardonnay. Should our guests drink less than expected, it is fully refundable!

We looked at tuxes today and decided that likely we would just buy one for DH. First, because I think they are just plain sexy, and second, we can use it again for our cruise!

The wedding was yesterday and turned out to be a beautiful, emotional, and fun day. I am proud to say we now have a beautiful new daughter-in-law who my son loves dearly and so do we. i am working on photography skills, but here is a picture of the bride and groom that I took.

The bridal shower is a tradition going way back (even had one when I got married ). It's a party that can be held at a home or anywhere. The idea is to give the bride various items that will be needed when they set up a place of their own (dishes, pots, sheets, towels, etc, etc). Then at the wedding, some guests will give presents but more often they will give $$ to start the couple on their way. Not every one here has an engagement party so I'm guessing the bridal shower takes the place of the engagement party.

I am very lucky. My DS found a gem!! She's such a wonderful girl. He brought her to a family birthday party on their second date and everyone was so impressed with her. My niece even mentioned right then and there that she wanted to be in their wedding - and she is!!!! Everyone loves Amy and we are all so happy to have her in our family. I've only ever had boys (two DS's). I know Amy has a Mom (and a terrific one at that!!) but it's nice to have a girl in the family!!!

Such a nice thing to say. We have a DIL that we love very much. My MIL did not love me so much in the early days, but after about 15 years I grew on her! We got along fine after that until she passed away. Silly to waste all those years.

And Donna, I agree with all the others. A truly lovely couple!!

All three of our kids are Disney maniacs just like us. Thank goodness we have enough DVC points to satisfy everyone because they all love different resorts. They have all said they wanted Disney honeymoons since they were about 10 years old.
