Welcome DisneyTrek! :)

I have an idea for the FE gifts...hopefully it won't weigh too much. I don't think it will but I still have a lot of time to think! :)

I just noticed your ticker. You will be getting off the ship as we are getting on:goodvibes Make sure you leave some Mickey bars for us:thumbsup2
We have a week at WDW before the our cruise, so we will be at WDW while your cruising. Too bad we wernt just a week different or we could have met up somewhere.

I am also guilty of not posting for a long time. Just not enough hours in the week it seems. A lot of my time is still driving up to see my mom and preapring her place for the new owner to move in October 1st.

I need to have it extra clean because my MIL is buying my moms place. Don't want her to think I am a bad housekeeper.:rolleyes1
I think she probably already knows;)

I cant believe it is just 13 months and we will be on the Magic setting out to sea:woohoo::woo

Well its back to 100 degrees by wednesday, UGH! I hate it when it gets that hot.
Hope everyone had a great weekend,
I am lurking most of the time and will post when I can.

We have a new internet server so we are a bit faster now too.

catch everyone later,
Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Yes, it looks like we will just miss each other! That would have been really neat if we'd been on the same cruise this year!!

It is amazing to think 13 months from now we will be on our way! Twelve months ago today we were on the EB Repo cruise!!

I am so looking forward to this TA cruise!! I'm sure we'll have a great time on our Halloween cruise as well, but 7 days is going to seem so short!!

Krista

We will hear more from you when you are finished with the feather duster Kathy!

dont work too hard.:laundy:

Krista, hope you are enjoying the new job .

Thank you, it's at the same place, but it was a promotion, so it means longer hours and more responsibility. I do like my job though, which is nice! :)

Krista

That is good news! While I am unfamiliar with how UK property stuff works, I am an ardent fan of BBC Canada and like to watch (and drool) over UK properties. Of course, the shows are all from 2006 and 2007, so who knows how much has changed. I love to watch EastEnders and on the ones we get Pauline just died! I think we are at January 2008 episodes now. Tee hee. Anyhow, congrats on the planning permission.

I love EastEnders too! I got hooked when I lived in England for a year during college!!

Hi everyone! My name is Daniel and my wife is Lauren. We just booked the WB TransAtlantic and we cannot be more excited!! :cool1:

We are pretty new to Disboards, so I hope you don't mind if I drop a line with a question or three every once in a while.

My first question: What's the deal with the Fish Extenders? I've seen pictures of them and I've seen them on past cruises, I think they are pretty cool.

Welcome!!!!!! :)

Glad to have you sailing with us. I know your question has been answered but also you should know if you want to do the Fish extender gift exchange you need to sign up for it on the first page of this thread.:thumbsup2

It really is fun and you will be given a list of all the room numbers before the cruise so you will know who to deliver your gifts to. This is not meant to be an expensive gift. Some give candy or book marks , glow necklaces, post cards or home made craft items. what ever you want. It is amazing how creative some people are. I hope you will join in the fun.

I was reading a blog of the 2007 WB TA and it seemed that the couple boarded the ship, stayed for the lifeboat drill, then headed out to Barcelona for the night. They slept on the ship, then had a morning excursion. It was actually the second say that the ship sailed away. Have I got that right? Does anyone know when our ship sails (the 18th or 19th?)and what time? Just wondering if we'll get to see more of Barcelona. I can't seem to deduce the information from the itinerary on the Disney website. It lists the 19th as an At Sea day, but when do we set sail? Thanks!

In 2007 we boarded on the 18th but didn't depart until 4pm on the 19th. So many of us left the ship as soon as we could drop off our bags. Some waited for the lifeboat drill before leaving, others, like myself, just went off the ship and didn't make it back until dinner. Got a little note in my fish explaining how important the drill was but no other 'penalty'. There were DCL sponsored excursions available on the 19th but our group had arranged a bike tour on our own.

For the 2010 cruise, we board and depart on the same day (4pm I think) so I'm pretty sure they won't let you leave the ship.

Welcome DisneyTrek and Lauren!!!! :cheer2:

This is going to be a great cruise. There are so many wonderful people on this cruise - some have posted recently but we have a whole lot more that seem to be taking the summer off. :rolleyes1

Please check out page one post one for all kinds of information and a link to our cruise website. The post will explain how to get on the roll call and the website will allow you to sign up for fish extenders, secret mickey's, etc. Additionally, don't forget to sign up for the lanyards. The two guys heading up the lanyard team also handled the lanyards on my double dip cruise and they were so awesome!!

I'm sure as we head into fall and we pass that 1 year alot of people will come back and we'll be closing out a few more threads before we leave!!

I see you've already added the appropriate logos to your sig so the captain will be very proud! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I dont get the eastenders thing, I cant stand it, my dn watches the reruns as wel as the original!

I think we go at 9 or 10pm, but that is only a think, the reason I say this,is because I can mind thinking we will have to rush dinner.
(do a lot of thinking!):rotfl:
Do they have 2 sittings on the longer cruises, I suppose they must, daft q!

Good morning everyone,

Headed for 98 today.
Sarah I wish I could send you about 20 degrees of our heat, that would be perfect.Where I am at usually gets maybe 1 90 degree day but this year we have broke 100 several times and 90 even more times.

I think mother nature knew I had moved back here for awhile and is playing a prank on me or something. Maybe i made her mad or something:lmao:
101 on Wednesday:eek:

Quiet day here today. I am actually trying to think of a unique fish extender gift for this cruise. I would love to make something, I am just not a creative person and usually wind up buying something. This time I want to personalize things by making them myself .
I am headed to Micheals for some ideas later .

Hope everyone has a good day.
I just figured I would shock everyone by posting 2 days in a row:thumbsup2

Kathy

Thanks Kathy! I wish you could too! It's cold this morning but I think the sun might be trying to break through so who knows.

I think I've come up with 2 different gifts so hopefully theyll be OK. Still debating whether I need some more lol

LOL! Well you're only about a year or two behind. I think you're right about Jan 08 as I think there's been 1 Christmas story since then. Have to say the year I spent over in the states in 03/04 Eastenders was definately missed. The only place I managed to see it was while we were on holiday in Nassau! They were around 3 years behind like you lol

I, too, am trying to think of ideas. DH nixed my idea because it involved small vials of liquid that he thought might just be a wee bit suspicious in our luggage. I concede that he may have a tiny, little point. I think I am going the practical route, rather than be all crafty. I'm a knitter, and I can't think of too many practical knitted gifts that would be well-received. I did wonder about those electric candles and some kind of votive holder as an idea - you know, to make the room romannnnnntic at night. Hmmmmm - knitted votive holders?!? Could work....:rotfl:

Oh I love candles! We had a nice Banana Rum Punch candle on one of our cruises (Yankee candle one I think) and I still have it! It reminds me of the cruise.

Small vials of liquid may be suspicious yes lol

Regarding FE's....just remember....it will probably be a HUGE group.

There are lots of DISers on this cruise, many of whom haven't even checked in here yet (Dee, Pat, Linda...where are you?)

.

Oh good point. I have around 100 of the one and 75 of the other. Do we think this will be enough?

I am a little worried about gifts as on the last TA we ran out lol

Eastenders:rolleyes: shame on you,lol

Last time we did not do the fish extender thingy, luggage wt was an issue.
We hung a scottish flag instead.

Spoil Sport lol No Lynne I don't blame you on this one. That's why we purposefully went for light gifts. Also things like postcards are cool. We got London ones on the last TA off one group. They were nice.

On the PC cruise last year many of the FE gifts were edible, so it was my weight we worried about not the luggage weight!!:lmao:

My trouble is I wouldn't end up eating it lol! I found that I still had a chocolate bar from the 11 night 2006 cruise we did the other day in my scrap book!

Ive been thinking alot about the weight of all those FE gifts!!!
I have several things going right now, I hope with the entire bundle they wont weight down too much.
As for a FE (more weight)... I was thinking about using my new Disneyland recycle green bag!:lmao: One gigantic pocket!!!:rotfl2:

Ann :3dglasses

LOL That would be funny!

Hi everyone! My name is Daniel and my wife is Lauren. We just booked the WB TransAtlantic and we cannot be more excited!! :cool1:

My first question: What's the deal with the Fish Extenders? I've seen pictures of them and I've seen them on past cruises, I think they are pretty cool.

Hi Daniel. Nice to see you two over here! I'm Sarah and I'm travelling with my DBF Dan. Are you a Dan or Daniel?

Ask questions. We love questions - especially me as I have a very boring job so spend far too much time on here catching up each day.

Fish Extenders - Don't worry my other half thought I was crazy when I started saying about these. Basically these are like shoe holders you hand outside your room. On the side of your door there is a Fish that has your room number on. It's slightly off the wall so there's space to hang stuff on it. A fish extender basically is hung from here and consists of a few pockets which other people can put little gifts in for you. On our last cruise we got things like sweets, postcards, stick on tatoos, pens etc. Basically they are just nice little gifts from your Dis friends. You too can then put gifts in their extenders in a gift exchange thing. It's a really fun activity and doesn't need to be anything elaborate.

They are fairly straight foreward to make, a few A4 size pockets sewn together basically, but if anyone wants one made I'm happy to make them and send them out at cost. I think the last one I made only cost around $9. Also you can get them off ebay quite cheap or just make use of what you have i.e. a shoe holder. There are loads of threads on these and the different designs.

Which reminds me - what about a Fish Extender competition? On the last cruise there was a judging panel who went around and choose the best ones and they got a prize.

Yep as said on the last TA we did overnight in Barcelona but our second stop was Cadiz which was closer than Gibralter. This time we are not unfortunately so no overnighting. We leave at 4pm according to the website - although it did originally say 9pm!
