Whats the last film you watched and did you enjoy it?

I was forced to watch the new star trek and I have to admit it was pretty good( but I dont like star trek)

Last film was Thumbelina... OMG - the kids have had 2 snow days and were cooped up all weekend. My little one loves thata movie and will ask to watch it over and over and over until I think the Trillabees are going to hatch in the family room.

Last film in a theater was TS3 - 3D, and last non little kids movie was Star Trek. Liked them both.

It was a busy weekend, so I had to play catch up today.

We use magnetic tape from Michaels on our signs. We have a laminator so we just laminate them at home.

We want to try for Tea. We've done brunch and dinner so if we miss those- no biggie.

The weather here sucks! We got 4-6 inches of snow overnight on Thursday-Friday. Today we got/are getting about another inch. Why didn't I purchase that snow blower when it was on clearance in the spring, I'll never figure out.

The last movie we saw at the theater was the Princess and the Frog. It's beautifully drawn and the story was just ok.

Cath- the baby is gorgeous!!!

I think I'm caught up now. Sorry if I missed anything else.

There was talk of a scrap book meet, and I know we will want to do a group meet at the very beginning of the cruise.

Is there any interest in other meets? Kids meet (all ages)? Tea? One of the tastings? Large group for Palo dinner or brunch? (Don't know how hard that would be). Anything else? Do we want to link reservations at some point so we are sitting close to each other, or will that just be too much DIS in one area? :)

It’s evident that we are too spread out to do a pre cruise meet somewhere. However, there seem to be a few of us that will be in Barcelona at least a day ahead of time. Does anyone want to do a pre cruise mini meet then?

If we have interest, I can ask Glenn to figure out how to get it on the website... (Sorry, I volunteered you for even more...)

Sue

Sherlock Holmes :magnify:was the last one Candida and I went to. Thought it was good. Candida went with our niece and nephew to Princess and the Frog the other night.

I leave all that stuff to Candida to handle. She had our door magnet done in August. Well at least the first version. I am sure there will be another one or two :)

We are planning to be in Barcelona a couple days in advance. A pre-cruise meet might be managed.

For those in the Western New York/Southern Ontario I was wondering about a pre-pre cruise meet in the spring/early summer. Anyone interested?

We went and saw Princess and the Frog. I enjoyed it far more than I thought I was going to.

Would love to do a Tea meet. Do you want me to keep a list? I suppose we just choose a sea day and time and then just try to book it individually? I remember vaguely that we could book spaces for up to the number of people in the room. Do we have to give names at that time? I know my DH will not go and we are Gold so as we could book earlier than some (not many on this board tho) so I could book for someone else perhaps.

If you can keep a list that would be great. Then as soon as DH can figure out the website stuff, maybe we can keep it there.

I am a lowly silver, so feel free to book for me... :) I wonder if we have a large group can we book for a party? Anyone here done that before?

A group of DISers tried that on the PC cruise. They would not do it for Tea at that time, but will for brunch. The group just had to all try to book same day for tea. I think it worked out for them. I have the fax number to use for group requests for the private dining room for brunch........somewhere! :) You have to have at least 12 and no more than 14. Someone would have to be responsible for faxing the request for the group and then seeing that everyone shows up. On the PC cruise there were a couple of DIS groups that only 10 or so showed up. Palo dining manager was not amused. :headache: They do charge you if you no show without canceling.

If you would like to be on the "list" for High Tea on the High Seas, please PM me so I don't miss anyone.

As the time gets closer, we will decide on a day. Hopefully with all the sea days we have we will have several choices for tea.

I will do some checking around to see if any other cruises have good ideas for setting up tea meets.

If any one here has any experience setting up meets, let me know if I am going about this the wrong way. I have never done this sort of thing before.

I was on the PC with Angie and tried to book tea. I couldn't get any tea time for the cruise. Hopefully this cruise will be different.

Sorry to hear that people didn't show up for the brunch. Hopefully, the people that didn't show were the ones who had to pay. What is the policy for cancelling brunch or tea? Can you cancel a day in advance? I know that a few people did get sick on the PC. Just wondering what the options were in case of illness. Maybe we should get a list of emergency substitutes!

I think they are very lenient when it comes to illness. They let us cancel an excursion the night before because I was ill, seeing the docs on board. However, when we sailed with my family, we did not realize that Flounders Reef did not open as early as the brunches started. We had 2 babies with us. One of the moms stayed with the babies and they did charge for her brunch. I think on the PC cruise it was not that folks were ill, they just forgot or whatever. I called all the folks in my group the evening before brunch so that no one forgot.

And you are going about this exactly the right way!! :thumbsup2 And thank you.

Oh my, just read that the EB TA started booking already. It still seems so far away for us but I'm sure it will be here before I'm ready.

Those are sure some great looking kid's photos I've seen posted.

On the last WB TA and EB PC, a friend and I organized a group tea. The EB PC was even entertained by a swabbie speedo parade, but I'll spare you a photo of that :rotfl:

Here's one of our wench tables

A group tea is not something you can book ahead of time (unlike the private room for brunch and dinner). You basically have to sweet talk the current manager (PJ and Marco have done it for us). High tea is harder to book because there are not as many tables offered. Palo does not have a full staff for tea. So that makes them a little more reluctant to basically fill all their tables with a group. I would never try it on anything other than a 2 week cruise.

Last film I saw, does watching Sandlot with DS tonight count? LOL. Last film in a theater was Blind Side.

Whats the last film you watched and did you enjoy it?

Dh and I go to the movies every week end...
seen: Princess and the Frog... loved it
Old Dogs.............very funny
Sherlock Holms......exciting
Avatar................Awesome
Disney's Christmas Carol.....amazing
Blind Side....................I cried loved it
New Moon..................liked, Twlight was better, I thought

and doing the happy dance today... received the new luggage today. Dis Board Green:cool1: and got a microdermabration, skin as smooth as a babie's :cloud9:

Ann :flower3:

I confess it was Bruno and it had to be the funniest movie I've seen in a long time - I was crying with laughter about 10 minutes into it. Ok, I'm a sick puppy...

On our EB Panama Canal we had a "wenches" lunch which we really enjoyed at Parrot Cay on a Sea Day.

For linking reservations - we'd love to link with another Dis "family" or a couple of families - prefer adults with a sick sense of humour - I know its a family cruise but I don't know if we are very family friendly ;)

Oh my - what a familiar bunch of wenches that lot be... I think most of them are on my FB friends list LOL

I would gladly take snow over rain. At least with snow you can push it out of the way. Plus, you don't have to deal with mud and dirt.

If this was dirt and mud, it would mean bath time :scared1:
Besides, it is alot more fun driving on ice and snow :car:

Jon

LOL I dunno over here by the time theyve gritted the roads (grit is sand mixed with salt I found out today I just thought it was salt) its so muddy that your cars covered. Also we have the joy that our office wont close even when you can't get to work so you have to take your own leave or walk in up to 3 miles! Its a nightmare! Im working from home tomorrow if the mad snow comes in like its meant to tonight - first time since office began they have actually said to people they can take home non-sensitive documents to work on and get the time back so going to do that.

DH's home office is just outside London. He said that no one had been making it into the office, they were all working from home!

Yeah wish wed been able to! Even people in the South Wales valleys who were completely snowed in with no way of getting here have been told that they can't claim for last week and who knows about this week! Its mad! One girl whos sat behind me still hasn't got her car dug out of the snow shes been walking down about 20 minutes to catch a bus the last 2 days!

So...as this is my first cruise and I am a "nothing" status, Will I find it impossible to get a Palo booking? Can I put my name down for a last minute cancellation?
Just love reading about the cold weather, Half of Australia is going through a heat wave at the moment and have "catastrophic fire warnings" in place! It is pretty warm where I am, you can't go outside for longer than half an hour without dripping in sweat! But relief is in sight, I am off to LA in 3 weeks, Does anybody have an idea of temps there? Jeans and long sleeves?
The new website is coming along, Lucky we have some tech savvy people here!

Don't panic! Youll be able to book soemthing! Everyone can only book 1 dinner 1 brunch and 1 tea at most in advance. Even if you can't book it in advance they save a certain number for on the boat. We couldn't get tea booked on the EBTA last time and then when onboard we managed to get it sorted! We were waitlisted initially and then they called and said we have a spot for you so really not an issue.

Ok, just signed up for Roll Call on new website, I think I've missed something..:confused3..what is CREW and CAPTAIN's dining, Is it just the times?

Crew is late (8pm), Captain is early dining (6pm)

Captain Jack on here is on early dining so as hes the captain so to speak his dining is classed as Captains.

I booked tea for one of my friends, also I booked brunch and decided not to go, we kept the rezy and when on board we went to rokin bar d and swapped it to my dis friend who couldnt get booked.

Pilk/jon, doggy is cool.
I agree snow is better but the deer where I walk the beagles come lower looking for food:guilty:not good! beagles love to sniff them out so theve been on the leads for weeks!

Ive been eading up on gibraltar tonight, it is tax free, they have supermarkets near port (safeways and tesco) hich is handy for replenishing wine stocks:laughing: I am looking forwrd to all the ports, Hey its Monday

Who is going to do the question of the week? me miss ,me

Gibralter is good for shopping and they have a Marks and Spencer (where you can actually return clothes to the UK store!!!!!)

Now as for the question of the day, technically the last movie I watched in full was Star Trek - which I love. I have however watched a bit of District 9 (fell asleep) The Omen & The Omen 2 just couldn't stay away in any of them.

Oh and at the cinema was a Christmas Carol although I was meant to go and see the Princess & the Frog (? the new Disney one) last weekend and overslept! It was OK
