Well we seemed to have missed most of the bad weather, just a sprinkle yesterday as we walked into Keswick and an hour this afternoon but we were on the launch going around the lake so we missed that.
We will be going down to the bar later before dinner to have a glass or two.

Speaking of movies - we went to see Angels and Demons last night and it was excellent. I can certainly recommend it!

and as of next week, by my calculations, we are in the 60-something weeks to go instead of the 70-something weeks to go, and that is worth celebrating!

I really want to see Angels and Demons, but I am not sure if I get the chance before I go on our cruise next week. I have only one day off between now and then and I have lots of stuff to be done that day. Unfortunately my last day off was the day before the movie was released. Still, I am sure that it will run for a while.

Tortola was beautiful. It was a little overcast and a downpour began as we left the beach but it didn't spoil our day. We did the island tour with lunch and beach time at Cane Garden Bay. The tour and tour guide Courtney was fantastic, stopping many times along the way so us tourists could take pictures. He pointed out the outlaying islands, the history. We got to the beach one way and came back to port another way so truely an all around tour. The lunch was delicious also with salad, rolls, a rice dish, grilled veggies, jerk chicken? and bbq ribs that melted off the bone...all you can eat It was yummy. It will be hard to decide what excursion to take next time. Everyone says the baths?

Our upgrade was a paid for upgrade. We went from a cat 6 to the cat 1 Roy Suite. The supervisor told us that in 7 years she's never seen a cat 1 available on sailing date. Figured we would never have that opportunity again at a reduced price and took it. The ship was certainly not full on that trip. Lots of moving around I think based on what was available for upgrading. I know that they put someone in the room that we vacated.


They just today offered etime(?) off for DH due to work shortage. Basically, it is time off without pay or penalty. We will try do that for 6 days he has off next month and bank those days for 2010.


It is very frustrating for him as the recovery is so very slow and painfull. He gets through his days with pain pills although he is trying to take only what is needed. He has thereapy Mon-Fri. The only other option for him is amputation and there are days that it sounds pretty good to him as those who were injured at the same time and lost limbs are already up and running. Doctors are hopeful that they will be able to give him some mobility in his left leg. Thank you so much for the well wishes.

Hi all, havent posted in a while but been reading and following the highs and lows. hopefully there wont too many more lows to read about.
Well it is my birthday on Sunday so DW (hotfudgesundae) and I are going over to the lake district for the weekend, staying over Sat & Sun night. We are staying at an hotel just outside Keswick, looking forward to the break from work. The weather forecast is not good but it will be a change.

What a gorgeous photo - brings back memories as my first ever holiday with my first boyfriend (back in 1984) was a camping trip around Derwentwater - we hiked a lot, camped for about 2 nights and then ended up so eaten alive by mosquitos we gave it up and came home! It is a beautiful location!

and not much improvement on the weather today - still windy and miserable with on and off rain! I am now getting very worried as our Somerset Cruise buddies are coming to visit on Saturday and they are camping in our garden - we are planning BBQs and lots of trips out - and I am convinced that because it is a bank holiday and also because I have made lots of plans, then the weather will do its worst!

I saw Angels and Demons this weekend and it was great! Dave and I had a movie weekend. First we saw Angels and Demons and then 2 hours later we saw Star Trek on the IMAX screen.

I also want to see Musuem 2 and UP! I love that dog!

We won a contest to go see a special preview screening of Night at the Museum2 and saw it last Saturday. It was wonderful. I'd like to have a movie weekend... We use to do it years ago, but not so much anymore.

You will love it there, it is one of our favourites. The mansion houses are stunning and the gardens are laid out lovely. The boat trip down to DTD is one of the best kept secrets. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Howdy everyone, just thought i would stop by for a minute and try to catch up with some of the posts here.
I just dont have as much time lately with going to moms all the time.

We are heading back to our home in Florida towards the middle of the June, so I am excited for that. I really miss zipping over to WDW when ever we feel like it
