Hey Sarah (gismo) - good morning. I must be on Welsh time as I had gotten up way early (3:20 am here), was reading our posts, found the Google map - I love it - and added my location, saved it, wondered if the UK folks were going to add theirs - and less than a minute later, there you were.

I think I've managed to delete myself though lol! I tried to edit the text and it disappeared. Now I have 2 flags neither of which say anything. Logging in again to try once more (and to attempt to delete the others lol)

Edit - OK I've corrected it now and it is working!!!

I love retrievers and beagles (and I am leaving out the picture of the two beagles on the couch together, please forgive) - putting them in here so I can see them again:

Can't remember who said they couldn't get the multi-quote option down; it seems to work this way: when you have a post you think you might want to quote, click on the " "+ " icon (on the right of the "quote" icon). Keep doing that for any other posts you want to include. When you are ready to post, click the "Post reply" button on the top or bottom of the page (I think you can also click "quote" in the last post, but that's not what I just did and requires being sure you are ready to write your post when you click it." You can always delete any quote you decide not to use.

You don't have to put reference the other person's complete post if you use "..." where you omit part of their words. Just make sure to leave the "[/QUOTE]" at the end of the quote and the original

at the beginning.

Good luck

If anyone is in the mood for laughing, this is an hilarious cruise report from a first time cruiser: (though not for the weak stomached)

"What Happens on a Disney Cruise, Stays on a Disney Cruise? Right? Complete! 4/3/07!" by lovablegluttons.

She sailed with us on our Halloween cruise, although I never met nor interacted with her. But she definitely can write.

Also, totallyangelic (a fellow WB 2010 pirate) has most of her Halloween cruise + WDW report up.

Two different styles of writing, both could be professionals (well, they are; they are both RNs, but I meant paid writers). Doesn't matter if you've never met them, as DCL fans, you will understand what they have experienced, including the crying when you see the boat for the first time and the post-cruising depression when you have to put away your FE because your family fails to leave you those hourly gifts you are used to receiving.

Going to have a look at them now!

Okay...I tried the instructions I wrote after logging out and closing the window to simulate anyone just starting. I had been in "edit" mode so much, I didn't consider that. :-) So for you PC users, try clicking on "Edit" that's located near the map's title and just above the written instructions. See if that works, and let me know.

I got it now:cool1: Oh what fun!!! I love seeing all those markers on both sides of the Atlantic already!

Ah that's so nice! Good job Erik & Jason
They are always such sweeties:love:

BTW, let Marika know that at some point she should be seeing credit for her fundraiser from me.
Thank you--I will let her know:thumbsup2 Thank you again for supporting her and her troop:goodvibes

Hadley, are the kids excited for the move?

Mostly, but also a bit nervous (to be expected). I think they will feel much better about it after our visit next week. Neither one of them has ever even been to Germany so it is a little hard for them to wrap their heads around it. They (and I) were really nervous about trying to jump into a German school right away speaking virtually no German, but it is sounding like (knock on wood--this is my single biggest worry about the entire thing right now) the company will pay for an international school:yay: (they are "looking into it" now). That will be such a good place for them and much much less stressful for them (homeschooling is not legal in Germany so we cannot just keeping going with what we have been doing:confused3 ).
Rio is bummerd to move before his dance recital (I am sure you can understand that:rolleyes1 ) but his teacher is going to throw a party for him and make sure he gets his five year award before we leave (this is BIG for him because he was miffed that he hasn't gotten one yet having danced for 7 years but because he had to changed studios when we moved here from Michigan--he would have received it at the dance recital this spring). Anyway, our friend who lives there has assured him there are plenty of dance classes in Heidleberg too so he is feeling better about it all:upsidedow
Marika was supposed to test for her black belt in early March. Her insturctor is awesome and working with her privately to get her enough ahead to test for it two months early so she can get it before we leave. That is great of him, and I am so proud of her:) She will probably keep up with martial arts in Germany also, but it will be good for her to know she got all the way to black belt here because anywhere she starts will be somewhat different and take some new learning:thumbsup2

Lynne--I missed this post the first time through:rotfl2: I have a strict rule against cooking while DISing;)
Oh, and i realized I had been spelling your name incorrectly. Sorry about that--I may be a terrible typist but I always try to get names done right:goodvibes

Excellent! I see you there now!

I couldn't agree with you more! I was so excited to see our friends in the UK on the map when I logged in a few minutes ago!

am back and all caught up again. LOL... I knew this was a chatty bunch. Loved looking at all the pet pictures and had to post on of my baby girl

She is just a plain ole dog, but we love her.

Added our pins to both NewMexico and Georgia. Hopefully we will be home or in another place before the cruise.

Nothing wrong with a plain old dog, wish my plain old dog was here with me right now.

I am so glad she is here with me now. I had to leave her at home the first 10 weeks I was out here. Missed her terribly. LOL... It cost more to fly her out here than it did to fly Misti and the girls here. She is much happier now.

Here is a picture of my old collie, she was 16 years young when we had to let her go, I am blabbing right now, I really miss her.

That is great that the kids instructors are working with them and so supportive. Regarding the schools- my family went to Norway for a year. 2 of my 3 brothers went with my parents. I stayed in the US since I was a jr in college and my other brother was a sr in HS and also stayed for college app's etc. We joined the family the following year and spent the summer - but I digress.... Schools: They were in Tromso (500 miles north of the Arctic Circle) and there was not an international school. So both brothers went to the local schools. It worked out really well. DB#3 would have been 7th grade except it was their 6th grade since they don't start school until age 6. It was all in Norwegian (which he did not know at all). At first he was lost, but when the other students had English class, he went with a tutor to learn Norwegian. That was wonderful and the second semester he didn't need it. He learned "english grammar" in Norwegian:rotfl2: . DB#1 had graduated HS, but since school starts a year later in Norway he repeated Sr year in HS again. He had a blast and had a chance to mature a bit before going to college the next year. That was good.
Two things helped. First, the Norwegians start learning English in 3rd grade so the kids had a fair amount of English language to communicate with my brothers. More importantly, the kids shared a common interest. The day after arriving, my brothers went outside and started kicking around a soccer ball. Within 30 minutes other kids came and joined in to their game. Your kids will have dance and karate as their entre' into new friendships.
DB#1 is very good with language and quickly picked up both the local dialect and the national language. DB#3 was completely fluent in the local dialect. My dad is also very good with language and spoke/still speaks the national language well. Mom had the hardest time. She learned "survival" Norwegian:rotfl2: , but since she was not forced to use the language all day (at school or work), she never really become comfortably fluent. It was a great opportunity for all of the them. There were some other American's there and obviously they became good friends, but they also made so many local friends being immersed in the local population with school, shopping, etc. So don't be concerned if Int'l school turns out to not be an option. It will all work out.
