Good morning everyone,

Please send pixie dust. My week has started out pretty bad. First, Labor Day out on a family bike ride. DS Christopher (6) falls and knocks out his top front baby tooth (his first tooth), went to the hospital and they had to put 3 stitches on the inside of his upper lip and one on the outside of his lip. Big bump on his head (even though he was wearing a helmet), and a large scrape on his knee. All this and he started school yesterday, grade 1. He was not a happy camper. In the end he went for about ¾ of the day.

Second, I was driving to work, and 3 lights lit up the dash board. Pulled over, it seems I was having some kind of brake problem – the book said – “take in immediately for service”. DH was at the gym. So I took it in. They shuttled me off to work, and by 3 pm no word. They shuttled me back home. 5 pm “there is something wrong with the brakes, and it needs to be fixed”. DAH!! Here comes the pixie dust, it is covered by the warranty.

The good news is – we got our docs yesterday. There is a silver lining. Have a great day everyone. :dancer: :thewave:

Lisa (10yrann) - #3 from Toronto

Jen, Brad, Deege, Tammy, Donna.... Thank you all for the Wide Open Arm welcome. I am overwhelmed :cloud9: , but in a great way.

Donna I live in Jacksonville. I did not grow up here like yoursself, I moved here about 9 yrs ago from New Hampshire. The city has grown so much since I moved here. When was the last time you were here and what part of town did you grow up in?

If you all discussed this already, sorry, but I was wondering how many of you will be dressing up for pirate night pirate: ? I bought costumes for the entire family and mine looks so silly. I do not want to wear it, but my husband gets very, very upset when I buy things on the internet that can not be returned so I am sure I will suffer in it. I am curious if anyone will be dressed up too.. May make me feel a little better if I know there will be others :)

Regards,
Angela

Angela...WOW!! I go to Jacksonville so often that I feel like your in my back yard!!!! :rotfl2: :goodvibes I live in Lake City, don't know if you've been around this area or seen any signs that steer you my way. :rotfl: It is a small world :flower:
My DD 23, DS 19, DSGF 19, and DGS (who'll be four) will be dressing up. Just couldn't talk DH into dressing up :cool1: but I do know there are some of our group (adults) that are dressing up.

Take Care

Welcome, Angela! Hey to everyone! Glad the spray-on hose worked -- I agree, they don't look like a tan, but they really do look like "hose". I think they are soooo cool. Great new product, IMO.

Question, can we bring "open" liquor on the boat? I opened my Parrot Bay this weekend, but there is plenty left and I hate to buy a whole new one if I don't have to. So, can I bring it on even tho it is open?

Yay for all of us! Cruise is coming....cruise is coming.

hi everyone,

sorry its been a week since i could say hi. we've had friends here and three toddlers and a baby in one house leave no time for anything else.

well it is packing time already! we fly out in two and a half days! the final route is via paris for a day and then either NYC or Miami to Orlando (ok so we don't have an actual final route but it is close)

I did the FFC shirts yesterday and they are great. :)
i am also using the ziplock bags and packing via outfits which is also working great. considering how much i travel i can't believe i never knew this. yet another reason the DIS boards are great.

Hey Jenny where did you get the Disney font and pictures from? i am trying to do pillow cases for the kids and just can't find the correct site.

Happy labor day to you all for last monday.
to any of you with friends or family in New Orleans and the effected areas our condolences.

Hi to everyone who has just joined or rejoined. :wave2:

anyway must run - the kids are still napping and i should be using this time to pack, do the pillow cases, write out lists of emergency numbers for neighbours etc etc etc

see you all in a week or so! :thewave:

Welcome Angela! Glad to have you. To get REALLY caught up :), read post 1250 on page 84 of this thread - all the info you'd ever need to be a well-informed Flip Floppin' Castaway (the name we gave our group).

Michelle, I got the Disney fonts several places, but they sites are saved on my home computer. I'll PM you the sites tonight (will be 8 east coast time before I get home).

Our TA is sending our docs today by USPS priority mail - hoping for a Friday delivery!

Deege, I'm off to read your PM....

Morning everyone!!!

IT'S ONLY 9 MORE DAYS TILL WE LEAVE FOR THE DISNEY MAGIC!!!!

Angela, welcome to the FFC!!! Glad you and your family are joining us.

Jenny, you crack me up. Nothing you ever say comes out the way you think it did. :rotfl2: I don't think anything from you could come out sounding bad.

Jen, I don't even want to think about what those 3 Carnival ships are going to look like when these six months are over, and it could end up being longer. What happens to all the crew from these 3 ships? It would be hard to move them to other ships b/c I imagine those all have full crews also. Those ships will have to go into drydock after this for repairs and refurbishing. You saw what the Superdome looks like inside? And that was just after a few days. Jenny, now that sounded bad.

Trisha, I hope your doggie is okay. I too know how hard it can be. It's amazing just how pets take over our lives and become a part of our families and how they just tug at our hearts.

We finally got them! Doc's came yesterday!

Later everyone,
Emily

I am going to share my secret "best rum in the world" with you Wendy! I can not let you know my cabin number because you will hunt me down at all hours of the night for the most fabulous rum you have ever tasted. Parrot Bay is no comparisson!!

Anyway, don't know the answer to your question though. LOL We always have to stop at the package store in Florida so it won't break on the plane!

Have a great day!

Missy

Brad......I feel your pain, my job has been work lately too! What the heck is that all about? :confused3

Missy, I love rum. C'mon you've got to share your best rum secret with all of us.

Welcome Angela and family!

Donna

Good Morning!!

WELCOME, Angela!!!!
Good to have you on board!!
I lived in Jacksonville for 2 years!! Good town. I really enjoyed living there.

Tammy, now you realize your little dancing guys are going to be our new countdown!! Tomorrow you'll have to do 8 of them, and so forth and so on... :teeth:

Michelle, how exciting!! It's finally almost here! In case you're too busy to post again before you leave, HAVE A NICE, SAFE TRIP!!!!

Wendy, I'm not sure about the open containers. I would think that as long as you're carrying it on, it should be OK. But I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else will know.

Lisa...Your poor son. Here's hoping he's feeling better by next week! :wizard: No more bike outings for him until after the cruise!! LOL
And good deal on your car! I know how it is to have repairs...they add up! And to find out it's covered under warranty is NICE!!!!! :teeth:

OH MY GOSH!!!! I just saw the largest spider I have EVER seen in my entire life!!! :earseek: It was like half the size of my hand, and it was brown with a black mark on its back!!! :scared: ACK! I HATE spiders!!!! :scared1: It ran behind a filing cabinet before they had a chance to kill it, and I have to sit with my back to said filing cabinet!!! I am so paranoid that it will scamper back out and bite my foot!! (I'm wearing sandals) I'm all itchy and twitchy just thinking about it!!! :crazy2:

OK, anyway, back to work. Have a good day everyone. And if that huge spider eats me, :faint: have a great cruise!! LOL

I love reading all these posts - they really keep me laughing!! :rotfl2:

5 more days of work after today!! Pack and clean house next Thurs. and leave at 5 a.m. on Friday for Cocoa Beach!! I soooo need a vacation!

Well gotta go back to work. See ya'll later. (Can't wait for ya'll to make fun of how we talk. On our last cruise one of the servers made fun of my DH and how he said "well" all week.) :jumping1:

TTFN,
Karen

Hi all.
Hope everyone is fine on this lovely Wednesday.
Lisa- :wizard: to Christopher. Tell him that he can eat as many :mickeybar on the cruise as he wants, that may ease the pain.

Only seven more days of the torture I call work. Then a much, much needed break.

I was checking out accuweather.com, my buddy Joe B. says that the African dust (whatever that is???)will hinder the development of the tropical waves coming off the coast of Africa. Two words,YEEEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!!!

Gotta go get ready for work. Talk to ya'll later,
BRAD :teeth:

Angela, I PMed you more information than you ever wanted (I do that) and sent you the list and the iron on. Do with it as you will.

Michelle  NO way! 2 and 1/2 days! I will send you a final updated list today....Remember the green yarn and since we don't have your 27 digit cell phone number (????? being out of the country sounds like it would have 27???) in the worst case senario....Karen is staying at the hotel with you (of course I don't know her last name, or call the Hyatt or Pop. Otherwise, we will see you on the ship! It is sooo real when one of us is actually leaving!

Brad, I sent you the ironons....

We LOVE African Dust :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :confused3

Lisa K, Bummer! But it is exciting to lose your first tooth, right? The tooth fairy still came, right? DId it break off or come out whole...that would be a problem. Bummer on the car, too but the way I look at it is you are getting all your bad over with so you can have a PERFECT vacation. Smart Girl!

Pam, on early seating. Did everyone who wants it get it?
Swwweeeettttt Suuueeee....whhhheeerrreeee areeee yyoouuuu?

The friend that I painted the dino mural for, just called and said she wanted to do something to pay me back. She offered to come and help me clean to get ready for the cruise....  Oh yeah (she is a really good friend).

Wendy, I read a post on the main boards where you can't take open containers on board...BUMMER :sad2: if true :sad1: Which doesn't make any sense when you got the cruise docs saying no drinks to be brought on board and everyone does it anyway :rolleyes1 I say try it!! :rolleyes1

Michelle, Travel safe...Have Fun...and we'll see you soon :cheer2:

Missy, you have GOT to stop doing that your driving me NUTS!!! TELL..TELL.. we have to know the name of the Rum or we'll all find you on the ship and ATTACK :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Lisa, poor little guy, bless his heart, hope he heals fast and the tooth fairy is good to him :wizard: Kids do have a way of springing back faster than us adults (old folks such as me)

Brad, I am 100% with you on the statement about work.... :badpc: :badpc: How dare they think we can mentally handle work when thinking about VACATION!!! :earseek:

Christal, Little Dancing men it is!!!

Hello all,
Even though we are about to set sail on the Disney magic ::MickeyMo and should be thinking of nothing else I will speak briefly about the carnival ships. I have sailed Carnival 5 times and booked again for Sept. 17, 2006. But in reference to the 3 ships being used for the flood victims they are the oldest ships in the fleet and Carnival will also be paid to refurbish those ships as well as being paid 2.5 million for useage of the ships. But I think Carnival will use the damage that (may or may not occur) will be done to those ships as an excuse to take them out of circulation because they are so old and really outdated when compared to others.
Nap time
David -aka- ::MickeyMo Deege

Emily, I forgot to tell you....I heard they can't get people to go on the ships...a comb of post tramatic stress and can't make a decision, not wanting to leave so they can find family and not wanting to be surrounded by water. In no way do I blame them (although not getting on a cruise ship on purpose, none of us can understand..) so they put the plan on hold. I wonder about the people who gave up their cruise for this and the money this is costing Carnival. Of course, I am not comparing the people or the companies pain to the poor souls in this devastating crisis (I think you all know that), just another example of a bummer situation in this nightmare!

Michelle! Yay! Travel safely and we'll be at the Hyatt on Friday if you need an update. Last name, Watson.

Pam, I tried to PM you back, but I couldn't tell if it went or not -- I did find the glow necklaces, so we are all set. Thanks! And I'm glad we'll all be dining together. Maybe we should go en masse to Deck 4 and demand the PLA rotation! :flower1:

I hate to say this, might jinx myself, but I think I'm finished with buying stuff for the cruise. Just need a few highlights, a trim and a pedicure and I'm good to go! Compulsive shopper that I am, I ordered a new pair of flip flops today, but they may not get here in time. Can't believe I just said that. We really have made it through summer! Sad abt that, excited for the cruise.

And Missy, since I can't bring my open bottle of parrot bay, please DO share the yum rum for the tum. I also can't believe I just said that! Yikes, I better get back to work before I embarrass myself further.

TTFN, W. :flower1: :rockband: :flower1:

Hello all

Just had lunch with my wonderful wife and she mentioned that we are going on a cruise pretty soon and we should start getting some things ready. Not sure what that is all about. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: So when is this cruise thingy supposed to be anyway....

Not sure if any of you remember, but I promised a drink to the one who lost the most weight and, I will live up to my end but it has been a long time since anyone has chimed in on that deal so I just might have to drink it myself, of course you all are welcome to join me.... :confused3

welcome aboard to Deege, Linda, Angela and anyone else that I may have missed.

Hey Brad, Whats with your buddy Joe and that African dust.. think he has been smoking something from Africa :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wendy, Just a thought, but if you put the cap back on your bottle of rum it wouldn't be open anymore... :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Everyone have a great day
