Hellloooooo! I am here! I have just been so darn busy. DNana and my DGF came to visit over the weekend. For a 91 year-old he's doing great. We had fun but were busy. And then my little DD4 decides to HOG the computer for HOURS ON END. She needs her own computer!!!!! Or maybe I need a new one!

Work is crazy. I was working until 10pm last night and I started at 6:30am. I agree with you Brad - imagine - actually having to WORK for that paycheck.

Welcome to all the newcomers. This is a really fun group.

I now have yet another shirt up for grabs. Medium golf shirt. The medium is just slightly small for a typical medium. I am beyond being able to mail anything but will bring it on the cruise (along with the other two already spoken for). When are we planning on wearing the shirts?

I can't believe the cruise is so close. My DB leaves in just SEVEN DAYS to come to Florida. I, of course, have to work up to the last minute and we aren't even leaving until embarkation day. Just as well since I haven't packed a thing! Oh well, I hope to figure it all out this weekend.

And now an update from your early warning center (DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU ARE SCARED ABOUT HURRICANES): Tropical Storm Ophelia seems to be running in circles right around Port Canaveral. It isn't expected to even budge for 5 days and, in fact, the forecast track has it doing a nice little loop-de-loop like Hurricane Jeanne did last year. No way to know what it'll do (the 5 day cone looks like a big circle instead of a cone - which means it could literally move anywhere). I will keep you posted, especially as we start to get nearer or if it moves rapidly far away and isn't a threat.

Back to fun and games:

WE DID OUR DOOR SIGNS!!!! DNana and I spent hours on the computer Sunday and Monday completing all of our door signs. WHEW! It was soooo much fun.

Oh well - guess I better get back to work/dinner. I've had five calls just during this email!

If the medium Golf Shirt is not spoken for, we will take it. I ordered DH the golf shirt and DS(15) the t-shirt becasue DS said he did not want the golf shirt. After they came in the mail nad DS saw DH's golf shirt...DS said 'I wanted a golf shirt'...I could have strangled him Anyways, the medium would fit him...so let me know if you still have it

I had heard yesterday that the Wonder was leaving from Port Everglades instead of port Canerveral. I was talking to Shirley (the lady who does gift baskets similar to DCL) and she said they were bussing all the cruisers down there. She was supposed to call me back today to try to get our gift baskets together...but have not heard from her yet. She said if the storm got worse that it may be a couple of days before she calls me back...

ITS ONLY 8 MORE DAYS TILL WE CRUISE ON THE MAGIC TO SOMEWHERE (just kidding). TILL WE CRUISE TO UNCHARTED MAGIC (is that better or worse) Oh well I give up.

Too much work to do in so little time. 3 weeks worth of work to be done in 2 weeks. Actually I have one week almost done, so now its 2 weeks worth of work to be done in 1 week. No problem though, I've done it before.

Jen-ny, Jenny, Jenny, Jenny, don't be sad. Sea days are my favorites anyway. We will have fun regardless -- on ship or off. I think you have pre-cruise let down syndrome. Didn't they teach you about that? It's when you've spent months planning and getting everything ready for your cruise and you are left with a week to go and nothing else to do but worry. Many of us get a version of it. My DH and I are having cranky everyday syndrome. Esp. him. I told him yesterday if he didn't shape up, I'd just take Nancy (our babysitter). It's so we'll really appreciate the time on vacation. You, too. A small let down before the glory! Chin up, dear girl!

I saw that abt Ophelia yesterday on the DCL website. Precautions are good. And so is pre-partying with Sue!

We finally bought a new camcorder so yes, we'll be bringing both camera and camcorder. Last year we did too, but the camcorder went on the fritz and it has taken us a year to buy another one.

You don't have to worry abt getting orange from the spray-on hose -- they don't have orange tint, just "hosey" colored.

Brad & Deege, I like your ditties.

I asked Capt. Rob and he said Greenbacks or Traveller's checks were fine. And there's been a change -- kids are 30% off, not 50% off.

Oh, and very cute story, to me at least, this morning I sang to my DD4, "we are going on a cruise" and she looks straight at me and says, "not for 8 more days, Mommy." How the heck did she know that????? Scary and adorable!

Jenny...There's really nothing wrong with an addiction to reality TV...I have to say that the only reason I'm not quite as badly addicted as you are is that up until this semester, I have had evening classes, and no time to catch up on the Tivo!!!! And as for the cruise, I will just be happy to get on the ship. I'm with you in that I would LOVE for the itinerary to go as planned, but as long as I'm on the ship, and we can get to where the sun's shining, I'll be OK!!!

Anyway, I REALLY need to TRY to get some work done today!

Wendy, I liked the way you started your post. It was comical and had me giggling - sounded very mom-like and comforting. I appreciate you bringing to my attention the pre-cruise letdown syndrome. I did not, in fact, get any tutelage in this grossly misunderstood phenomenon, so I will write to my licensing board about it.

Your DD is quite a smart 'un. Keep training her in all ways DIS and she'll grow up to be a fine woman.

Christal, I too appreciated your efforts to cheer me up (despite you JUDGING me as a reality show ADDICT - can we say labeling, here, people? ). I will now help you kill the spider if he does come on the cruise since you were so kind. However, having spidey-sense like Peter Parker may not be such a bad thing - think about how quickly I could get from the door we enter to deck 10!

I think ti's good to remember they will take us somewhere - I guess my worse case envisioned scenario is us just being plopped out in the middle of the ocean with nowhere to go. They will take us somewhere, I just want the somewhere we're taken to last more than 3 or 4 days! It WILL work out, it WILL work out, it WILL work out.......

Today I think we are going to try and go to the pool. We haven't been since June (kids were in school) so we need to go and try to get a little sun so we don't burn on the ship. My daughter must have all of the portugious (sp) and indian that we have because she turns as beautiful brown as you can imagine but my son and husband need all the heads up sun action they can get. Should be fun.
Christal, Don't worry about the spider....they are very good travelers and don't take up much room and if he gets out of line, just smack him

Jenny - thanks for straightening out Jen's cabin question. Good to know we are not double booked!

I do hope the weather gets better for our cruise! It is a risk we took booking at this time, but as long as we leave on time...I don't care from where, as long as I can get there...as long as it is on time and on the Disney ship I am SOOOOOO READY FOR A VACATION! Of course I do look forward to the Castaway Cay and hope we get to go there...as well as St. Thomas and St. Martin....but I can live without any stops as long as I can get on the ship and be pampered and entertained!

A possible happy dance...weather permitting...I just went online to the cruise page and was able to book the couples cabanna massage on Castaway Cay!!!!
We were really hoping to be able to do that...have heard so many people who just loved it!

I have to say that the closer we get to the cruise, the more I just LOVE this group!!! If we're this silly and giddy a week before (you all have me ROLLING today! (and yesterday too)), imagine how much fun we're gonna be on the ship!!! I just don't know if I'll be able to stand it!!!

OK, and somebody needs to SLAP me...before I lose my job!! I cannot seem to get ANYTHING done!!! Not including today (because I've already "DIS"ed the day away...it's gone and I can't get it back!!!! (but ask me if I'm saddened by that... )) I only have 4 more work days before vacation! I will NEVER get all of my work done!! I cannot stay away for more than 15 minutes at a time!

Jenny...OK, FINE!!! Do you think that you would feel better about your "label" if I joined you? I have to admit that while I am not QUITE as addicted as you are, I too have a problem. (I'm not sure if there are different "degrees" of sickness or addiction (you're the expert, you tell me!) ...but if there aren't, then I guess I'm in the same situation as you: SIMPLY ADDICTED)...I admit to being hooked on Survivor and American Idol and Nanny 911 and Big Brother....and maybe a few others...THERE!!! I said it!! Are you happy??? AAAHHHH...that felt good!! Quite liberating as a matter of fact!
That being said, I can now admit that I would LOVE it if we could watch the premier of Survivor Guatemala while on the ship!!

Anyway, I once again must TEAR myself away from here and get a little work done...ACK!!!!
