Karen.........just noticed your location. I knew you moved to California but did not pay attention to details. What county are you in?

Glad to hear you heard back from Lord Sheffields, sounds like it should be a hoot.

Missy

Missy,

We are in Napa County.... we can get to Napa in 10-15 minutes. We aren't drinkers, though.. I suppose many would think it's kind of a waste of a good location!

I'm looking into the Lord Sheffield's excursion sounds like it would be fun!! Does anyone know if there's still room for 12?? I emailed them to see if we could fit. I just need to see how you get from the boat to there & back?

I don't know what I would do without this board!! I have learned so much from you guys!!

:cool1:

I asked this on the main board and didn't get an answer...

Do you know if you can book rooms on board the ship for others and get the $200 on board credit for those rooms too?? My in-laws are looking into taking a Disney Cruise next year.

Thanks!!

A friend of mine who sailed out today told me you could as long as you reserved the room and paid the deposit. :goodvibes My Mom wants to go on the next one with so that's what we'll be doing :earsboy:

Good luck on Lord Sheffield's :wizard: we're not going but there is going to be a good group on board :goodvibes

Looking for more email buddies for my girls.... Kiley (11) is wanting someone else to email with and Courtney (13) is in need of friends onboard too.

Also my 15 year old nephew is looking for someone too.... he said he doesn't email much but he prob. would if he had someone to email with... he's into sports, NASCAR stuff like that...

Has anyone done "Snuba" in St. Thomas? My sister & her husband did this in Hawaii on their honeymoon and loved it. I found one place in St. Thomas that offers it.

Yes we'll all have to meet up :flower:

Everyone who goes on the Lord Sheffield's will have to let me know how they enjoyed it. On the next cruise my DGS will be old enough to go..I know he'll love it :goodvibes he's just turning four and I fear he's just a little too young this time. :sad2:

Well I have to turn in for tomorrow brings on another day of cooking for the fourth :wave2: and for the hoard of people that will be here

Take Care all..... you know I'm tired if I'm thinking how many more weekends :hourglass before it's time to :boat: :thewave:

I haven't but it's funny you mention it. I just read it as a recommended tour in one of the guidebooks I was reading. They explained the whole process - it sounds really fun! They did say it added about an hour to an hour and a half to the trip. You wear a helmet where you can talk to the guide and you follow a handrail the whole way. Lonely planet suggests arriving early to avoid the cruise ship crowds - but according to one of the scuba places Disney is the only ship in town that day.

Karen - what a great place to live (even if you don't drink the wine)! The countryside is so beautiful around there with the mustard and flowers (except when they attack my allergies!). I've been hiking in a few places around there and really loved it. I so miss California when it's summertime here. Dashing from the store to your car is considered hiking in Florida! With 96 degree weather and 96% humidity. YUCH!

I don't know about Lord Sheffields having room but email them and be persistent. You don't have to pay in advance so I booked for our party and then ask them! They were all in. You just walk to the rear of the ship and the dock for the boat is a 10 minute walk.

To answer the book on board question. I don't think that you could get the perks for someone else, unless you were cruising too and you moved people around in the parties to make it seem as if a return cruiser was in each cabin. Did that make sense? Hope so.

Have a great day,

Missy

We've been here just one month now and I have really enjoyed the weather... it's very different from what we'd be experiencing if we had moved 30 minutes to the west. It gets much hotter there. There is often a difference of over 10 degrees!! We also get a nice breeze in the afternoon and evenings that keeps it from being so bad. And low humidity as well! This is a first for me; I've always lived in places that get hot and humid in the summer (5 years in the FL panhandle).

Finally making myself heard again! Didn't think I'd really be missed! Yes, I am KSUMOM's Mom & still planning on being with you all on the Magic in Sept 2005! :cool1: :cool1:

Just returned from a long week-end trip to Indianapolis then right into the long 4th week-end, also been getting ready to go on a 2 week vacation with hubby (who won't be joining us on the DC). We leave July 9 for a first-time "Smoky Mountain" vacation! :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Getting rather excited about that. We both are in great need of break from the work grind! :wave2: We'll spend one week in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area, then second week in Nashville. :love1:

We have 3 daughters, Susie being the middle child (poor thing)! She has already told you all about her family waaaaaay, waaaaay :sad2: :sad2: out there in KS!! Our oldest daughter, Lisa lives here in Columbus with DH, DS (15), DS (3), & DS (16 mos) who will all be on DC with us. Then my youngest, Patti lives near us also (Grove City) with "friend", not married, no children & won't be with us on DC.

I really am excited about this cruise  , just been kinda leaving most of the plans up to Susie, our "cruise coordinator"!! I'm just going along with whatever she plans for us, just so glad to even get to go & be able to be with all 7 of my grands for a week! Also anxious to meet some new friends (all of you)!!! :grouphug:

Penny

Hello Ksumom..You will love the Smokies... we try and go every year  even if it's not for a full week. Plan on taking everyone next summer they rent out cabins that hold 15-20 right on the river. My DH and myself celebrated our 25th this past April  I too am a grand, but only have one..he's almost four and a charmer

Can't wait to meet you alone with the rest of this gang we have going.....boy keeping everyone's name straight will take some work... :rotfl:

Welcome back :goodvibes

I am back... :) Had a nice weekend up north with DH...

We had the BEST time...It was so nice to be just US.. :love2: We had superb weather, and stayed at a quiet INN with only 17 rooms. It was lakefront, and had canoes, pedal boats..We really had a nice quiet time...

Maybe one too many :drinking1 but hey...Who is counting..

Jen, your work is amazing..You are really talented....

Hi to everyone else...Hope you have a nice 4th.. :grouphug:

I am Sillymemaw. My daughter is Ksumom. Just didn't want you to have a tougher time trying to remember everyone, which is really impossible!

Well, looks like it's a no-go on Lord Sheffield. I got an email when we got home from church today saying they had room.... but hurry and let them know, because there were only 6 spots left. According to the time on the message, I got it less than 15 minutes after it came through. I responded immediately, saying I wanted the spots, but got a reply 20 minutes later saying they were fully booked.

Guess we'll look for something else to do.
