Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Happy 4th of July everyone! :wizard: (closest thing to fireworks)

Hope everyone is having a great long weekend.

Mommasita, glad to hear from you and glad you had a great time, I think you needed the break.

 to sillymemaw

Hey someone answer this question for me. Why is the DISboard color green? What is the significance?

Later everyone,
Emily

Hi! Congrats on the $1000 Sweetsue. Love saving money. I really like the cabin tour idea too. Something tells me the men and boys of our group probably won't be too interested, but... I'm excited to see the suites & verandahs. My porthole room is open for one and all, too. Mommasita, yay! on your weekend trip. Good for the soul, which we seem to neglect all too much. Jen, I love Vail in the summer. Went when I was 15 with one of my girlfriends and her family for a week and it still ranks as one of my best vacations ever. I love Colo. I have a good friend whose parents have a gorgeous house in Breckenridge and he is always inviting us (we did go out there to ski one year), but we just don't have the vacation time. drat. drat. drat. I hope the Lord Sheffield remembers me. I printed and saved my confirming e-mail from Capt. Rob himself. Sounds like we will be a big group. I hope everyone that wants it gets it. Oh, I asked mommasita abt the green, too, and she didn't know, sd it was just DIS. I did see some posters on the big board (reporting on the Cat. 1 suites, I think) all sporting neon green T's with black and white graphic. Looked good, but not nearly as good as Jen's design! I'm sure I'm missing all kinds of stuff, but need to get back to precious DD. Have a great day all. W.

Hi everyone!

Hope everybody's having a great holiday! We are just relaxing at home. Ahhhhhh. :)

Our surprise went really well. All but one person made it (a cousin who was AWOL :confused3 ). Grandma was really surprised as more and more of the family came walking into the sanctuary at church. Finally, when her BIL and SIL came in, who are very active at their own church, she looked at my mom and said, "HEY! Frederick and Leola just walked in. What's going on?" My uncle Paul stood up and recognized that we were all there to surprise her, and the pastor had everyone stand up who was there for her surprise. 37 people! Woo hoo! The song leader asked what her favorite song was, so during the music worship time we sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus". She got teary-eyed, which I've NEVER seen in 25 years!!! Then, when DSis and I got up to sing - for which I was VERRRRRRRRRY nervous to sing in front of all my family - everyone clapped and kept telling us later in the day how good it sounded and how much they liked the song. Grandma loved it. My DSis is her (shhh) favorite, because they are very close, and we have lived across the road from her all our lives, so she was our babysitter, occasional taxi driver, and our EMT when we were sick at school. So it was really special. We took LOTS of family photos, and it was just a really good day.

Whew! Now that I've updated you on our special day, I am glad to hear at least the female FFCers are interested in a cabin tour. I was thinking maybe we could do it Sunday, since that's a day-at-sea and our staterooms should still be pretty put together. :) How about 10 or 11 AM? If that doesn't work, feel free to suggest another time, especially if you've already got something planned for that time and really want in on the cabin tour. We can meet where we have our DIS meet, or we could meet on Deck 3 in the lobby atrium (the first place on ship we get to after we board). I tried to think of a central, familiar locale. Again, feel free to suggest another. What do you think? I figure we could just work from the the top to bottom or vice versa so we don't repeat ourselves (deck 8, then 5, then 8 again, etc.). If you're interested you can just show up and we'll make our rounds. And I can make little reminder cards since it seems a lot of people forget about DIS meets once onboard - even the first one!

Jen, I keep forgetting... I would like a copy of the spreadsheet with everyone's names. You said to let us know if we did, and this is my official request. :teeth: Can you send it to me in an email? You have my address but here it is again just in case: jlbeck@zoominternet.net.

Wendy, you said you live in Joplin - is that Missouri? That's where my aunt and uncle from Texas where stopping last night as they left our party here in Ohio and made their way to Wisconsin for another family reunion.

Well, not much else is new. Sweetsue, good job on saving $$$. That's always a good treat. To everyone else - hi :wave2: and we've got 11 weeks to go! :Pinkbounc

Jenny, sounds like you had a great day yesterday.

Jen, I never got a spreadsheet, either.... 4kidsplusdog@gmail.com

We still haven't decided what to do in place of the Lord Sheffield. Perhaps the Golden Eagle....

Karen

Jenny, you got my teary eyed ready your lovely description..That sounded lovely..I am sure you and your sister did an amazing job..It must have felt great after..

Sue, boy that is a great savings..Good job, hopefully others can also benefit from this...

11 weeks, and I have until the 19th to decide... :confused3 Will wait, and not decide today..

I hope you all enjoyed the 4th celebrationss, or just quite time..Jen,you must be enjoying yourself...

Take care all :grouphug:

Hi all...we are still onboard, but haven't been around to chat much. We are looking forward to our September Cruise!

We have booked the spa and Palo. Looking forward to the Magic! :wizard:

I don't know how I mised this thread but we are on this cruise also. I am going with my two girls-5 and 8, my two boys-13 and 15, my husband, my mother and step father. I was on the Sept. 26th, no the 27th Wonder cruise last year and I booked another cruise for hurricane season again. I hope I see you guys there.

Shmora

Welcome welcome welcome!

Tammy, glad to have you back. I don't remember being active on the thread when you posted before (at least it seemed from your post that you were here before), but we love having people stop back.

Shmora, welcome to our group. We are pretty active but LOVE snagging more warm bodies for the cruise. :rotfl: Seriously, we're so glad you're here! Jen (screen name jennat) has made some items for us for the cruise. We are waiting on her to buy them to make sure they turn out okay, and once she gives us the word, those of us that are interested are going to start purchasing too. The link to her "shop" of the merchandise is in her signature line. And those images were created by Jen. She's quite talented! We're glad to have her. :) She's also got a link to our photo gallery of everyone's real life names and pix in her signature line. If you send her your family's pic, she'll post it and we can see who you are before we cruise. That'll help us recognize each other earlier on our MAGICal sail date.

Let's see - oh, we're in the process of organzing a cabin tour. Just walking around during one of the at-sea days to see the different rooms/views everyone got. And our DISmeet will be the first day, seems like everyone's voting for the Mickey Pool area so adults can chat and kids can swim. Not sure of the time yet. Last but not least, we have named ourselves the Flip Floppin' Castaways. :teeth:

Those are the basics. Again, we're SO GLAD you've joined us! Post as much or little as you like, but we're talkative, so the thread moves pretty quickly.

Looking forward to seeing you in September! :)

MISSY I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

iTHINK THAT just did it...WE are 99.999999999999999999999999999999 going....
Going to post this on the main forum for others...will let youknow... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Missy--I agree with Mommasita. As soon as I read your post I went to the southwest site and cancelled and rebooked our air. I now have a $240 credit good until 06! My friend who is going to WDW around the same time is also doing this. Yay! Thanks!

WooooooooHoooooooooooo Sherrrie!!!! I am glad I could help! We are going to try and squeeze a trip to DC in with our credit.

I would say you could buy me a drink, but since we seem to be budget minded, I will make my own in my room and meet you somewhere to discuss what a great impact I have had in your life!! LOL

Let us know when you make your payment, that will be the final answer then huh??

I love you too,
Missy

Too bad we weren't booked on Southwest! Their flights were a lot higher than the other airlines when we booked. Of course, *now* it's $99 each way. It's only about $35 cheaper each way than what we have already, but when you multiply that times 6.... that's $420. Hmmm, maybe I should look at the penalties from United and see if we should rebook.

Oh, I got another email from Veronica today and now we are on the Lord Sheffield cruise. I don't know what the deal was the other day...

I love you Missy!!! I just saved another $300 on our airfare!!! :cool1:

Now maybe we can go home to Ohio for Christmas or something like that....

THANKS!!!!! :Pinkbounc
