Sept 17 2005 Magic - am i alone on the ship?

Congrats go out to everyone that has lost weight last week, :earseek: I only lost another 1 pounder but...I am getting serious about this thing going on next week.

I saw a friend of mine yesterday that had lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks, he leaves out on Wednesday :earboy2: :moped: for his 10 day land/sea cruise. Earned himself an additional $300.00 in an office bet :smooth: :earseek: to loose it before the Cruise, Way to go!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: You'll have to give me a full report when you return. :goodvibes

Jenny hope your health continues to improve we're thinking of you :wizard:

Jen I've done my years of Browines/Girl Scouts... :goodvibes have fun with it 'cause it does not last long enough...and some places do have COFFEE..(I love it too)

Sherrie, I think of you everyday and hope everything is going better :wizard:

I've been reading some of the boards and found that at some of the cruise meets they do goodie bags for all the kids/Adults. Have any of you ever done or heard anything like that? Just a thought :rolleyes1

Take Care on this TGIF day

We won't make it to Pirate night, that is when we have Palo scheduled.

Tammy, DH & I are and will be 21 by the cruise. He is 21 & I'll turn 21 two weeks before the cruise.

Good night everyone,
Emily

Emily I'll be sure to tell them...Thank you!! :goodvibes

TGIF Everyone!   I just love that ! I was being nosy about another group and saw this website where they could buy shirts, shorts, hats, buttons, magnets, etc. EVERYTHING! You just upload your artwork. Then people can go and purchase whatever they want. The have T-shirts starting at $8.99, but you can go to a Polo type shirt (think Nana), etc. Pins are $1.25 each. Lots of cool stuff. The downside - there are copyright laws so we can't do the MIckey logos.

I thought instead it might be a fun deal to do the pins. :Pinkbounc: If one of the more artistic types would like to come up with a logo, I'll be glad to buy the pins and ship them snail mail to everyone (no charge). I'll also bring extras to the port - I'll probably buy the 100-pack so there would be plenty. It'd be easily recognizable. They also have magnets for about the same price that are basically a pin with a magnet on the back. We could use those for our doors too along with the magnets from Jenny. :bounce: Here's the link to the buttons/magnets/stickers so that you can get an idea. http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/products/goodies

Sherrie - :goodvibes :wizard: :grouphug:
Jenny - glad to hear the bloodwork was good. :wizard: the heart monitor...

Meet location may be a bit tough for us. My DD4 still wears swim diapers so she can't go in the Mickey pool (we do NOT want to be responsible for the next wave of Norwalk virus). She was born with spina bifida which is like having a spinal cord injury before you're born. She walks with a walker and is the most :Pinkbounc: kid you've ever seen. She loves :love2: and :grouphug:. How about by the area where the play splash area is (I can't remember what it's called).

Sweet Sue

Hey,
Where is everyone tonight? Jen is the only one who has an excuse. And just b/c Jen isn't here to guide us doesn't mean we all just have to shut down.

I'd say they all have a life! :cool1:

Unlike me, who is answering on a Friday night. Do you think I can give myself some :wizard: to have a life?

Oh my dear, dear DISsers...

Forgive me for neglecting you! I got sucked into the black hole of magnet-dom. :rotfl: :teeth:  It's quite addictive! I just want to show you some of the creations for DSis and my stateroom:

You all know about the FFC (our group's name abbreviated). I'm leaving that up all week. The ones below I'm rotating based on date/time.
Sunday: http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/FirstSeaDay-Sunday.jpg
Sunday (night):http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/FormalNight-SundayNight.jpg
Monday: http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/MickeyandMinnie-DayatSea-Monday.jpg
Tuesday (day):http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/NemoSnorkelTourSign-Tuesday.jpg
Tuesday (night):http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/PiratesNightSign-TuesdayNight.jpg
Wednesday: http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/TrunkBay-Wednesday.jpg
Thursday: none yet - in the works :teeth:, probably incorporating formal night
Friday (2!!! - and maybe a third for Palo) http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/CastawayCay-Friday.jpg
http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/CastawayCaySign-Friday.jpg
Saturday: http://www.photodump.com/direct/atsjen/FFCDisney2.jpg

Now, I don't expect you all to be as excited (read: obsessed) as I am; I just wanted to share my creations with you. This has been done with the rickety old Paint program that comes on all Windows systems. Not very fancy or advanced, but it works! The only one done on that program I bought was the Donald CC one - I'm not as happy with that software as I expected to be.

Thanks SO MUCH for all of your responses to my good health news. I'm waiting on the monitor news. Let's pray for good news. :)

I have no preference for where we meet. We're both single gals, no kiddos to drag along, er, lovingly lead by the hand ;), but I've read enough on these boards and elsewhere (and having been on the Wonder once) about the ship that I think I can find anything. I think it would be fun to incorporate whole families, so I'm all for the pools if that's what you guys decide.

Oh, and for Pirate Night, we're not sure what we're doing yet. We may just buy tropical shirts and wear dew rags... I'd love to go all out and wear a hook and eye patch, as that's sort of my personality , but I'm not sure I want to memorialize the night with photos that will forever catch me in a potentially unflattering light. :)

I like the idea, Wendy and Sue (and maybe Jen?), of IDing ourselves. We should be at the terminal early, and I'll be eyein' everyone for a familiar face. I think buttons would work really well, but string is a good idea too. This may sound silly, but we could always make a big poster like limo drivers carry that says "FFC Meet here" in bright green... I'd be happy to make one - the old fashioned way, with markers ;) if you want.

Okay, that's all for now. Good to hear from you Sherrie! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Now this is how I want to spend my Friday night!

Sue, this is my life. I check this thing all through the day, everyday. Whatever shall I do after the cruise is over. :confused3

Jenny, those magnets are awesome!! I love them. I may just have to use some of those on our door or if dad doesn't want them on the front door I'll find somewhere in the room to put them. Great job!!!

Emily

Jenny, I just noticed you have the Magic's horn in your link. Scared my dog half to death when I played it. :rotfl2: Hey now I know how to get his attention.

Emily

LOL,

I've been meaning to point that out for everyone's enjoyment, so here it is:

Play the link in my signature for a MAGICal suprise!!!

Emily, sorry I scared your dog. :)

Jenny, I agree with Emily those magnets are AWESOME~~~ :earseek: Gosh how do you do that...you are just too talented, my signs will look like a craft shop blew up. Except for what the four yr old does, of course his will be great, (he is a grandparents dream)

I hit the link Jenny and my DGS thought it was time to start packing :Pinkbounc :bounce: he got so excited  Took me awhile to explain it to a four year old. He does know we leave in September but to him it's forever...who am I kidding..seems a long wait for me too. :hourglass I just keep telling anticipation :wizard: what makes wishes and dreams so magical :wizard:

Not much happening here, outside looks like the sky is going to open up and give us a good drenching :umbrella: Oh well let it rain all it wants till September then..... :sunny: :sunny:

hi everyone,

Jenny i love the horn! we keep "singing" it to DS to help get him in the mood. i don't know what the teachers will think when he starts preschool after our holiday, but he thinks that is the sound all ships make!
i also love your door signs.

Jen last design with the name in disney letters is great, esp the ones using the cruise line logo.

i haven't planned any excursions, but with DD being so young we probably wont.
i have started thinking about clothes for the kids and DH, but not for me (for me it will depend what i can fit into - or perhaps i will have to go shopping...)

:flower: michelle

Michelle, don't feel alone in your no excursions...DH and I probably won't do any either. Two staterooms take out a bite. :earseek:

We were in WDW in Dec. last year and DGS had such a wonderful time he asked DH (grandpa-pa) could we come back. Well DH gave him four tasks to complete and we would return, shortcut to making a deal with a three year old. Long story short he completed his final (as DGS callled mission) and we were again talking of returning to WDW, well another funny thing happened :rotfl: DGS seen a DCL commerical and they ended that commerical with "all you have to do is pack" the rest is history... Course everyone wanted to come and since our DS 19 and DD 23 (she's doing exceptional) are doing so well in college.....history again... We're letting them do the excursion thing and we're just going to enjoy our family. :grouphug:

We have not booked any excursions either. Probably won't.....we are all just as comfortable booking out own "excursion" for a fraction of the cost! The only thing to worry about is Nana and Papa's ability to manuver (sp?) where we want to go.

Have a great weekend all,

Missy

HELLLOOOOO - anybody home????? All week long I couldn't keep up with the posts and here it is the weekend and I look and look and there aren't any new posts! HELLLLOOOOOOOOO!

I took DD to Dora's Pirate Adventure today - we've had tickets for this play for awhile. She's been running around all day talking about being a pirate pig and stealing the treasure. Sounds like she's ready for pirate night!

Okay, it's official :cheer2: , we will have a Sweet Sue Suite Birthday :cake: St. Thomas Sail Away Party on Wednesday, September 21st beginning around 4 - 4:30-ish (and if we're not there yet, just party without us). We'll have munchkins around until 6ish and then we'll be adults only until Palo time. WOO HOO! I'll ask concierge to put together a spread - so I'm not sure the platters are needed - but BYOB would be welcomed (I don't think I can afford this group's :drinking1!

Jenny - you have the BEST magnets. I can't believe you did those in paint. WOW! :worship: Guess I better go get creative. I can do a few things myself as long as I'm using a computer program....

Jen - didn't you say you had a DS9? My DN is 10 right now turning 11 in August, so 9 is probably close enough. Tyler loves baseball and more baseball and even more baseball.

Hope everyone is enjoying :sunny:. The sun finally decided to shine on us poor South Floridians so we've had a great time outside two days in a row now. No more :umbrella: for at least a day. WHEW! We were getting ready to order a boat (my DD had started playing with her very old Noah's ark set)!

Enjoy the weekend! :goodvibes

Sweet Sue

Good evening everyone.
Party sounds awesome Sue. We won't start the party without you though, it's not fair to start a birthday party without the birthday girl.

Jen, you're not allowed to go anywhere anymore. We just seem to shut down without our group leader here. At least there won't be too much to catch up on when you get back.

Emily

Hello everyone,

Guess what? Someone on the magnet threads is now PAYING ME to make some signs for her cruise!!!! :cheer2: Pretty incredible - not something I expected, but certainly a boost to my self-esteem.

Not much is new... went to see a friend tonight. She and her hubby bought a new house. Must be nice to be 25 and own a nice home!!! Oh well... someday.

Not much is new. I think everyone must be out par-tee-ing! Not me. That's what happens when you're a single gal in a town with < 20,000 people.

Okay, just checking in.

TTFN!

Jenny, that is awesome! Keep advertising you might get some more offers. You do an amazing job.

Ok, we don't need Jen to keep chatting. I'm sure Jen is probably freezing her butt off :cold: in the mountains somewhere. It is smoldering here in S. Illinois. Upper 90's today and lots of humidity. Tammy and Sue, you could send some of the rain our way. We really could use some.
Did anybody hear about the shark attack in Miramar Beach, FL. today? That is very close to Destin which is one of our favorite vacation spots :guilty: . I have a hard time getting in the ocean as it is, now the next time we go to Destin I will have a even harder time.
Sue- The party sounds great. Jen and I (and DH's) are doing a daysail in St. Thomas so we may be a little tuckered out that evening but I think we will still enjoy a get together. We could all bring a bottle of wine or something. I plan on bringing my own aboard.
Speaking of that, does anyone know if DCL charges a corkage fee like some of the other lines? Just wondering.
I'm going to bed now. Have a good night all.

The funny thing is, I wasn't advertising! She just PMed me and asked me and signed "your new best friend". LOL

I agree - we don't NEED anyone to keep us posting - but we sure miss everybody when you're gone!
