Sept 16 2012 - WONDERing who's on the Calif Coastal with me?!

Silly questions --

We have always done the Disney cruises on the east coast, and one night they always have a Pirates IN the Caribbean Party. Do they have a Pirate Night/Party on the west coast cruises??? pirate:

Thanks
Susan

Our travel agent checked and she said there is a Pirates IN the Caribbean party pirate: We were on the Wonder last October for the Mexican Riviera cruise on the west coast and they had it.

I have a question: are we doing one FE or a few? Like maybe a "Welcome A Board", a pirate theme, and a Farewell. I think it would be fun especially for the kids to get numerous things. Also do you think everyone could let Susan know if you have allergies. I just got to thinking I would hate to give someone a cand y bag with snickers in it if they couldn't eat it due to a peanut allergy. Or give someone a special Disney cookie if they have a gluten allergy. If everyone doesn't mind customizing for the people who have these allergies it will just add to the magic! :) (Listen to me! I graduate nursing school at the end of August and so for the time being I eat, sleep, and breathe overanylizing stuff like that. It's annoying, even to me. And my poor DH ;))

YES! Thank you for the reminder. We just participated in an FE exchange during a cruise in May and asked everyone to list that info so I'm sorry I forgot.

If anyone who has already submitted information has any allergies, or if you are celebrating special events you want to share, please PM me and I will add that info to the FE list.

What does everyone think about the number of gifts. Right now we have 7 families so if everyone does 1 thing that would be 1 gift per day. I'm really OK either way -- we enjoy making the gifts as much as getting them so (especially if we keep this small number of participants) we would be happy to do a couple. We went on one cruise where it turned out that we had about 20 families so it was plenty to just do 1 gift each.

Thoughts??

Awesome! Thanks for the info.

We just saw BRAVE today and they showed previews for Finding Nemo in 3D which is scheduled to be in theaters on Sept 14th. Fingers crossed they will be showing that on the cruise as well. Since it's a Pixar themed cruise that would be perfect!

I don't mind doing more than one FE, I think it would be a blast! Also, where can I buy one? Or how can I make one? :)

Hi there
My son Ceejay (9 year old) has an allergy to egg and nuts :)

happy to only do one FE delivery as I am going to be traipsing the FEs throughout the rest of our trip to the USA Sorry :( Assuming I get them into the country that is ;)

Finding Nemo is going to be on the cruise as it is in the press release that Disney sent out! :) Yay!!!!

Really looking forward to the whole trip really :)

Will we have a wee meet up on the ship?? Maybe over a DOTD cocktail or three ;)

I have 2 things in the works (and about a bazillion other ideas!) so I'm cool with doing more than one delivery since we are such a small group. What ever works for everyone :)

We have no allergies in my group (unless you're planning on bringing dust! :rotfl:)

Greetings all!
I'm Samantha, my husband Will and I will be taking our first cruise ever on the 16th of September. We will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary as well as my graduation from nursing school. Our anniversary was actually back in May but since I'm in school we didn't really get a chance to celebrate.
We were SO excited when we found out this cruise would be a PIXAR themed cruise. After the cruise we will be spending a few days in Disneyland. We are 20 and 21 years old and couldn't be more excited about this trip. Can't wait to meet you all! :)

Welcome to the group!

There are people who sell them on ebay (just search for fish extenders or Disney hanging organizers) or search the threads...there are several about making them, including making one out of duct tape!

For our first cruise, I only had a couple of days to come up with something so I bought zippered pencil pouches (the kind you can put inside a 3 ring binder) at the 99 Cent Store, glued them together on a piece of fabric and added some ribbon and our names. It was very easy and came out pretty cute, I think! Here it is:

The night tour of Alacatraz is not full, its unavailable. From researching it, there are no night tours of Alcatraz on Tuesday's and Wednesday's. So, there is no way through Disney or a third party to book the night tour.

It will be grayed out if its full or unavailable.

It's too bad that it's unavailable. I did check and it is grayed out and clearly listed as sold out.

There are alot that are full already..we'll need to do stuff on our own, which will be fine, but am disappointed that things fill up before people not in CC status can even have a shot at booking.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that alot is already full. Actually only one excursion is full..the Alacatraz one. The Night one doesnt count since it is unavaible because there are no night tours on tuesday and wednesday.

Palo Brunch and Dinner are wide open.

With all that said, I'm gold and you don't have to worry about me booking anything. We are doing everything on our own. The Disney excursions are way overpriced and we are going to US cities that aren't hard to manage on our own. We aren't getting off in Ensenada so that doesn't matter to us. Honestly I am kinda confused at why more people don't want to do them on there own...its one of the few cruises that is super easy and with the long port days makes it that much easier.

Alcatraz cruises go out about a 5 min walk from where we dock and are 28 dollars a person.

I have something planned for each family then something else for each person :)

Oooh I hope that Palo is still open this time next week - Our window opens then :) :)

We have booked alcatraz directly with the company - even cheaper online :lmao:

same with the hop on hop off tours.

I think we will hop off in Ensenada and do one of the cheap tours. Just so that we can say the kids went to three different countries on our holiday:cool1: :)

LOL Its getting exciting for my kiddies. we are on Winter Holidays for two weeks from this Friday. We have all sort of holiday activities themed around our trip away - Mickey waffles, making a cruise ship, making our boards for the autographs :) All exciting!!!:rolleyes1:dance3:

Did anyone else recieve the email yesterday regarding the addition of a port adventure to our port visit in San Fransico? The new port adventure is to the Lasseter Family Winery in Sonoma. I immediately logged into my cruise account and the port adventure was already listed as sold out. :( Looks like I need to get on the wait list for this.

I checked today to add a few more port adventures and a Palo dinner reservation and it appears that they are still a lot of availabilities for both. I understand your frustration with having to wait to complete your bookings we have all been there. Nevertheless this is something that repeat Disney Cruisers have earned which is why I can't wait until I reach Platinum Level to earn even more perks.

We did not get an email, but I emailed the Lasseter Family Winery a few months ago about just such an opportunity! (Disney really should hire me!) Anyway, the winery said they didn't have anything set with the cruise, but would welcome us for a tour (even outside their normal hours). We decided not to since it's so far away.

Looking at the website... $475?! Oh, well the signed bottle by John Lasseter would make it worth that!

I wonder who the email went to? Our only "status" is Gold (no concierge, DVC, etc.).

To add to my previous post, on the planning page it shows you have to submit a request form. So I'll bet the default is set to Sold Out as they individually add people to it (after pre-paying the cost I'm sure)!

I didn't see the request form but $475  and I'm not really a wine drinker. I have to agree that a signed bottle by John Lasseter would be nice but I've already met him on the Fantasy Maiden Voyage. I was on a scuba diving port adventure and John and his son where on board. They where only about 8 scuba divers so the boat was not crowded. John was very nice and took photos with anyone who asked. Later on the cruise I saw John surrounded by other passengers asking questions and taking pictures with him. When he noticed me he called me by name and said hi. He asked if I went diving at the current port we where at (Costa Maya) and I told him the trip was canceled because of large swells. I am hoping he might be on this cruise as well.

I'm not sure who received this email. I am also a gold status and a DVC owner.
