Sept 13, 2012 Dream to the Bahamas

Well having it paid for helps a LOT!!! When you travel in and out on the same day for work... is it a direct flight? I once did connecting (2 flights) to NC and back in one day during a tropical storm. NEVER. AGAIN. :scared1: All for a lunch and a 2 hour meeting where I sat and smiled, then handed out pens. :rotfl::rotfl:

Absolutely it's a direct flight. I only do connecting in rare circumstances. I actually just got home from Houston. I flew out this morning and now home since hubby had to fly out to New Jersey today. Waiting for the kids to get home. Can't wait until next week! Hoping to bring my best friend. She just lost her mother in law to cancer a few days ago. She's going to need some decompress time.

It was our first cruise ever last time and we didn't want to be nickeled and dimed, so we decided to only experience what was included. This time around, even though I don't drink (anymore), I do want to try the drink of the day and/or drinks at the lounges. I love spas, but will probably pass to save time and money. We'll expect to forego pictures again, but the family does want to try bingo. It's hard not to buy souvenirs or gift shop items, but we have so many things like that already, it's not a critical purchase for us. We like spending money to go on vacation, but I don't like wasting money while on vacation. I like coming back home with lots of memories and cash still in my pocket!

ThereYouSeeHer: I'm with you, we don't plan to spend any extra $ onboard on anything. Our first cruise this time, we're just doing what's included other than tips and enjoying what we've already paid for.

We are now on single digits! Ughhh come on already. I have count downs to so many things now. The cruise, Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party, Holidays and now my wedding. So much to look forward to.

That's the best way to do it! The included food and activities for the cruise is more than sufficient. No extras necessary!

Have fun at the beach!!

Thanks Tiffany! I had a good time visiting and now I'm back for 3 days of work and then I'm getting into cruise mode.

We leave on our first Dream cruise this Sunday :goodvibes

Very excited...just about 3 more FE gifts to complete.

This week is tough though b/c I am being tough on my workouts and eating right before blowing it all on the cruise ;) If I can just stay disciplined the rest of this week...

Getting back to the conversation, we don't buy a lot of stuff onboard, but we do like to the get one or two of the DCL merchandise items (a mug or maybe a stack of paper notes) to take home since we don't cruise DCL that often. We usually budget for that kind of thing. :thumbsup2

Since some of us are heading out on the cruise this Sunday (I'm jealous) just a quick reminder to our FE group. We will do a quick meet n greet at 3pm at the Vista Cafe near the atrium on embarkation day (9/13/12). Can't wait to finally be onboard as I am sure everyone else will feel the same. Flowers or beads so we recognize you easier. Woohoo!!!

Good Morning
Im in the second FE group but if anyone would like to do the exchange that maybe didn't get in on time or would just like to participate with me send me a quick message either here or at normajean826@aol.com

How many do you have in your group?

How is the cruise looking. Is it almost sold out. Are we going to go on an empty cruise??

Thanks!:worship:

I just checked and there are still quite a few rooms left. I don't think it will be selling out. I am not complaining though.

...and this is precisely why I chose my wedding cruise in the slow season! I'll take a partially empty boat any day! Woo Hoo!

Although the day is moving slowly... this time next week it will be CRAWLING!! We are getting close, folks!!!

By the way - we (or I, at least) probably won't be at the Meet & Greet as that is usually the time for the spa raffle. :hippie:

Not loving life right now. I so need the break next week to re-energize. I don't want to be negative, but I don't like mean people that only think of themselves.

Ugh, I hear ya. Don't move to Florida because it's NOT better here! Just on my way home multiple people ticked me off (went to 2 stores). BAH!!!

And 2 of us are already in group A... So only 2 "new" cabins

just dawned on me that I will be sitting in Palm Coast FL this time next week waiting to go to Port Canaveral to board the Dream. I am one lucky person, my sister:love: has a condo there and she is letting me stay there the night before the cruise for the small price of me taking my carpet shampooer and shampoo her carpet in the bedroom. Much cheaper than staying at a hotel.
