Sept 13, 2012 Dream to the Bahamas

Hi everyone! Question...does anyone know if it's possible to get warm milk delivered to our stateroom for my niece in the mornings? Apparently she's a bit of a warm milk junkie right now! Hehe

Definitely not on the last morning as there is no room service. The other mornings I am not sure... I bet they will do it if they can. They always make me a grilled cheese even though it's not on the menu (well they take toast and add cheese and I think nuke it a few, but still)

I've read one or two places on the DIS board that the ships don't have microwaves? So I wasn't sure if warm milk was even possible?

They don't have them in public areas but not sure if they have them elsewhere. Oh if you get room service I think the milk might come in cartons so I don't think you can nuke those anyways, right?

Hello, all!

As suggested by one of the other 9/13 cruisers, I'm going to leave a bag at my stateroom door (#9674) just in case anyone wants to send warm wishes to the wedding couple! I would love notes from anyone who has a little time :) If you leave your stateroom #, I probably have extra wedding favors that I may be able to drop in some FE's ;)

I'm getting married in 7 days, 1 hour, and 37 minutes!!!!

I will be leaving my 7 and 4 year old with my inlaws while we're gone. They will definitely want to talk to us once per day, even for a couple of minutes to make sure we are ok and tell us how the kids are. I think unless it's an emergency it's probably not necessary, but then again my son is back in school, he's on meds for asthma and ADHD, and I know it's a lot of responsibility for my inlaws. My parents are both deceased or else I'm sure they would be with my mom and dad. :( my inlaws are always willing to help out and give us a break, so I feel compelled to make it as painless as possible on them. Ps- our last "away" break was 4 and a half years ago, and I don't even know the last time we went to dinner or a movie together. Yikes!!!

Why don't you bring them along? I know you stated you want adult time, but you don't think you will get that with them staying in the youth clubs? I am not sure you will be able to relax worrying about being away from them.
I am kind of in the same boat. Me and my husband do not get date nights at all because unfortunately our parents have never offered to babysit. We are actually looking forward to the cruise because we are thinking we may finally get some adult time because the kids won't want to leave the youth clubs. Just a thought...

I would love to bring them, but my son really cant miss the time from school. We are taking both kids out for a WDW trip in November for DD's birthday! It looks like DH and I are joining you all though!!! Booking now, arranging flights later!

I'm so excited!!!!!! Wishing all of you an amazing time! And extra best wishes and pixie dust to the bride also!!!!

That's so precious! Congrats!!! This will be a memorable trip for sure for y'all. We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary on the cruise! (actual Anniv is the 12th, we are spending the night in PC before the celebration cruise)
We will def be sending some good wishes and goodies to y'all while there. (we are cabin 8164 and doing the 2nd FE group. So excited, this is our first ever cruise.

Who wants to meet me early on and teach me all their is to know about DCL? I hate being such a newbie :lmao:

You should go on the ship tour! They usually hold them at 1:00 and 2:00, but that information will be given to you on your Personal Navigator when you check in and get your boarding information. It's a great way to see the ship, learn about activities, and ask any questions to a knowledgeable cast member!

Happy ALMOST anniversary! Today was my last day of work before the cruise! Woo hoo!!!

Although the day is moving slowly... this time next week it will be CRAWLING!! We are getting close, folks!!!

By the way - we (or I, at least) probably won't be at the Meet & Greet as that is usually the time for the spa raffle. :hippie:

Spa Raffle?..I am not on this cruise..I am the next week so sorry for cutting in but can you please tell me about the spa raffle??/

I do have a question for the experienced cruisers.

Do the main dining restaurants let you have your meal "to go?" And are there many options outside the main restaurants that aren't just pasta or pizza?

We are all vegetarian. For my husband, the smell of certain meats/seafood can make him ill. Add to that the fact that he's diabetic so he needs some of the better meal options that are served in the main restaurants.

Thanks in advance.

They don't usually do this because they don'tprepare all courses at once but you can ask. There is also room service. Also, you will smell meat on the Lido deck

Hey guys,

This is probably my last post until the cruise.

I'm packing today and then tomorrow we leave bright & early to drive from West to East to board the Dream.

Wishing everyone safe travels and the most magical wonderful happy cruise ever!!!!:rainbow::rainbow:

I would make a point to speak with someone from the dining and/or kitchen staff on your first day onboard and see what they can do to accommodate your special needs.

And yes, there are many options in Cabanas buffet that won't be pasta/pizza. Your husband should be able to eat solely off of the buffets if he needs to. Also should mention that on Pirate Night they do a bbq on deck, so if bbq-ed meat smell bothers him, he'd want to avoid that area on Pirate Night.

But Cabanas is a sit down dinner... So the buffet option is only for breakfast and lunch

BTW I think Cabanas being a sit down dinner is one of the dumbest things ever... Grrrr

What a small world! Our anniversary is the 12th as well. We're celebrating 14 years! Congrats to you!
