Sept 11 3 day Wonder? Am I the only one?

Thanks for the list! Let the shopping begin! Do most people bring daily gifts for everyone? Do the do a gift bag for everyone in the stateroom? Both? Sigh....I can't decide what to do..

On my last cruise I personally did daily gifts for each person, but many cruisers did gifts per family for each day (like a goody bag or something.) Just do whatever you're comfortable with, and it doesn't have to be every day. Everyone keep in mind that this gift exchange can easily knock out 30 minutes of your day. It wasn't until the last day that I figured out an easy way to get to all of the cabins, and that still took me close to 15 minutes. They were on every floor and on both ends of the ship. Crazy! :scared1:

WOW! I am so shocked to find people going on this cruise! I have been sitting alone on another cruise board, thinking I was all by myself for this sailing...lol.

So I just wanna say

I am Michele, mom to two cruise obsessed kids (ages 4 and 8)

We haven't been on a Disney cruise since 2005, but have been on 5 other ships since then.

In 05, my youngest (8 months old at the time) needed to be medevacced off the Magic. She caught a virus onboard, stopped breathing, seized, spent 2 days in the ship's med center before being sent to Port Canaveral Medical Center.

Yes she is a perfectly happy and crazy 4 year old now.

This is a surprise cruise! The kids know they are going to WDW. But I told them we couldn't do a cruise this year. ;)

So I am hoping for a totally uneventful cruise. :)

We'll be arriving at WDW on the 6th, going to the Halloween Party on the 9th and board the Wonder on the 11th.

Welcome cruisinmama06! Another Michelle here and I also have a 4 year old dd! Too bad she won't be coming on this trip because I'm sure that she would love to have a friend to play with!

I don't know if you know about the fish extender exchange, but several of us are participating in it. If you look back through the posts it explains about it. If you'd like any more info just let one of us know. :goodvibes BTW, the cut off for signing up to participate is a week before the cruise.

Yes, please explain. I know you are compiling a list of cabins with the number of people in them.

So how does the exchange work? Can you give me all of the details or point me in the right driection? Thanks!

Here you go. I had posted the following earlier for another participant. Let me know if you have any other questions. By the way, is it just you and the two kiddos?

The following are a few links that will give you a better idea about the fish extender exchange, as far as what they look like/how to make them or where to purchase them, as well as a link about gift ideas. :

OK so I read the info about the fish extender...and now I know WHY it's called a "fish extender"...lol

My first question (I'm sure I will be bugging you with many) is that does anyone ever bother (as in other passengers) the fish extender itself?

On some of our other cruises, the things on our door had a habit of migrating down the hallways. :(

Is it safe to leave things on the door? Does anyone ever bother them? And in the one picture, someone handed out "Canadian Maple Syrup"...would something like that actually stay in a mailbox or be stolen?

I personally didn't have a problem on our cruise, and didn't hear of anyone else having a problem either. I can't guarantee that it wouldn't happen, but I suppose that anything is possible. I have heard of magnets going missing on some cruises (people do magnets for their cruise doors), but I don't think that it's often that it happens. I have read that people recommend personalizing things like your FE or magnets to reduce the chances of this happening. I just had one of the plain pink ones with the Mickey on them and didn't have any issues. Hopefully there won't be any pranksters on our cruise! :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2

Here's the new, updated version! :)

Alright, after looking back through everything, here is a tentative list. There may possibly be a few extra people, because some that are participating said that friends are joining them, but didn't say whether or not they would be taking part in the FE exchange. I just had a couple of questions for daltwalt. If you see this post:

daltwalt- Is it you and dh? Also, you mention your boys but I'm not sure how many or their ages (some like to do age appropriate gifts )

Ok, on with the list (the poster will be listed, and then any additonal people in their stateroom will follow along with ages of any children)

Smilingmouse

Mdhkitten- friend Jason

Lcombs- DH, DD14, DS12, DS10, DD9

Fivepin- DH

Risnsun- DH

Daltwalt- DH, DS, DS

Abfnumberten- DH, DS6

Cruisinmama06- DH, DD8, DD4

Cruisinmama06- I just have to say that I LOVE  your blog! I only had a second to look at it (believe me, I'll look more later!), and it was a wealth of information!

Just a quick heads up to everyone-

We should be getting stateroom assignments in the next few days (usually at about the 30 day mark), so when you get yours, please post it on the board so that I can update the FE list. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Thanks Kitten!

Now about the cabin - I have my cabin already and I am kind of freaking out today - my cabin is 6540

I was just looking at the deckplans and notice there is no triangle next to the number - which means no upper/lower?

It is a Cat 6 Verandah - so if I am looking at this right, then we have the Queen bed for me and the hubby, then the couch only pulls out into one single??? There should be an upper but I don't see it on the deck plans.

UH OH :scared1:

Do you think there is an upper with this cabin? I don't know if Disney will talk to me about this because I transferred the booking to my TA.

Hmmm..........I don't know what to tell you. I would suggest posting on the cruise forum on here and surely someone has the answer. I just assumed that all Category 10's and higher slept at least 4. That's what assuming gets you! :rotfl2:

BTW, I'm in 6515, so I'll be just down the way!

BTW, I thought the the triangles indicated adjoining rooms. :confused3 It just looks that way to me. Anywhere you see the triangle, there are two rooms next to each other and they also have another little extra drawing in them that looks like doors opening.

Thank you!!!! You rock :woohoo:

Yes, that makes sense, the arrows show connecting doors. DUH! lol

On other cruiselines, those arrows show "sofa bed in cabin" so that's where my confusion started...lol.

OK, so cabin confusion over. I am on ebay trying to get my fish extender. What else am I missing?

We'll be staying in WDW at Wilderness Lodge - so I have all of my ADRs done and our Halloween Party Tickets purchased.

I think I am getting this worked out!

Yay! I'm glad to help ease your mind! :goodvibes

I stayed at WL last time (in May) and it was great! Have you stayed before? Do you have lots of good ADR's? I wish that I was going to WDW before the trip. :( Hmmm...........my flight back doesn't leave until after 4, so maybe I could sneak in a few hours at a park that day! ;)

My fiance and I are going to MNSSHP too on the same night!! We are wearing pirate costumes that way we can have those for pirate night as well.

Michelle - yes we have been to WL before. It's our favorite resort there :)
As far as ADR's - orginally we were doing 8 days in Disney and no cruise. I cancelled 2 days and added the 3 day Wonder as a surprise for the kids.

So I had to change some of the ADR's around. What I have left is "Breakfast with Cindy in the Castle", Pooh and Friends, Ohana's Lilo and Stitch, Fantasmic VIP Package and Chef Mickey.

Risnsun - Are you going to the one on the 9th? We won't be wearing costumes, but the kids will be of course.

What's the best way to get 8 days worth of princess costumes for two kids into the luggage????? lol :confused3

I was honestly thinking about packing it up in a box and mailing it to myself at the hotel? Would that really work?

cruisinmama- I hear of people sending themselves things all of the time to their resort, so I have no clue why it wouldn't work. I guess the big question is would the shipping be less than flying with an extra bag (depending on what airline you're on)?
