Sept 11 3 day Wonder? Am I the only one?

I am so sorry I have been missing in action!!!! I got a promotion/demotion at work (the kind where you get more responsibility but not more $$$) And I have been pulling my hair out. So this vacation couldnt be more needed.
We are booked for stateroom #'s 6100 and 6102 I am not sure which door I will be hanging the FE on though.
CruisingMama - Looks like we have almost the same vacation plans - we arrive WDW 9/5 staying ASMu attending MNNSHP on 9/9 and we are all dressing up - Me/Minnie - DD14/Sally(nightmare before christmas) - DS12/Jack(nightmare before christmas) - DS10/Peter Pan - DD9/Tinkerbell - DH/Capt Hook. I am shipping costumes, FE gifts, and snorkelgear to myself at the resort.
Risunsun - hows the wedding plans going? good I hope

I know there have been alot of ?? about what should be done for the FE.
I had originally planned to place a gift each day for each person involved, however I was thinking that since this is only a 3-day and my 1st time cruising, I am just going to do 1 delivery to each room. I know it is not as much fun, I think it will be easier.

Hello Everyone-

I'm just checking in. I've been busy getting my 3 boys ready for school. They start 8/18 & 8/19. I have my 20 year HS reunion this weekend in Miami as well.

For the FE-I'm planning on doing one gift for each family. I must say this a much smaller group for the FE than my cruise in October on the Magic. I have to FE gifts for 25 cabins We have assigned nites as to who delivers their gifts. My cabin number is 2580. We have late dining. Anyone else with late dining.

We are doing Palo dinner the last night @ 8 pm. We are also doing some spa treatments. My first one is 1pm the first day. What a way to start the cruise.

We're not doing MNSSHP until October.

I'll check in again soon.

I've been busy making door magnets for both cruises and t-shirts. My DH thinks I'm going overboard, but from some of the photos I've seen on other threads, I don't think so. I can't believe I never got involved with DISer's before this cruise. It is quite addictive now.

And I have my FE being custom made right now. Do you think I should have our last name on it? I noticed that alot of people do put their last name on it.

Fivepin- We're also doing late dining. We've linked our ressie with smilingmouse since she'll be traveling alone, plus you can never have too many DISer's at a table! LOL We'll be doing Palo on the first night. I reluctantly did magnets for the last cruise and most of the DISer's did as well. I saw other magnets on doors for people that I suspect are probably DISer's and never found the thread for the cruise. I plan on having some magnets (such as the all important mouse ears for the door number!), but no shirts. I'm missing the creative gene!

I can't believe the cruise is one month from today! Yay! I better get on ordering my FE gifts!

I have been going back and forth on the spa. The last time I was on Magic I did the chakra capsule and the cellulite algae wrap. Well the chakra capsule was heavenly. So I may do that again. The algae wrap would be consider a form of torture in some countries...lol. They wrapped me up and put electrodes on my body...then shocked me. Not shock (as in surprise), I mean SHOCK as in electricity going thru my body.

So I'll be staying away from that on this cruise...lol.

So what is everyone doing for excursions????

We have wave runners booked in Castaway. And Blackbeards stingray tour booked in Nassau. We usually go to Atlantis in Nassau (I book a room there for every cruise), but this time we are trying the stingrays.

Anyone else doing excursions?

My FE is being shipped today I saw. Tiffany did mine as well. I would think about having some sort of personalization on it, just as not to tempt anyone to take it. I've heard of a couple of problems of magnets being taken from the doors. I did get my last name put on there. I've seen others with their names on the individual pockets or even just their DIS name up top.

I don't remember about the club either. Last cruise I brought the kids was 2006. I wanna say they opened later on that nite after getting everybody all settled in. Not positive though.

I'm making one shirt for my husband and I. Trust me I am not creative at all. Thank God for the various threads where I could make all my requests. I have alot for our October cruise since I'll have the kids then. It's pretty easy just to print the image on to iron transfer paper and then iron it on. Mind you I don't iron very well

Hi Michele-
I usually get main seating because of my kids as well. I actually asked for late since it was just my husband and I. I'm actually on a waiting list for main seating for the family cruise in Oct. I booked it 1 1/2 years before sailing and main seating was already full. I don't know what I'll do if I don't get it. My kids are used to eating at 6pm as well as my parents. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm getting the La Therapie Hydralift facial and a well being massage. I think those are great. Also, the frangiapani scalp ritual they do in the salon is very nice as well. My husband is getting the hot stones. He likes it.

As far excursions-really didn't plan on any. My husband has never been to the Bahamas. I was just planning on taking a taxi to Atlantis and doing it on our own. I know I have to make a stop at the Rum Cake factory for some rum cakes. They are really good. I'm staying away from the straw market. Just don't feel like having stuff "pushed"onto me.
For Castaway-I'm packing my own liquor(Bacardi 151 Long Island Iced tea drink) So, we plan on getting off the ship early heading over to Serenity Bay and grabbing a hammock and umbrella and sip or ïsland drink and just relax listening to some music. We plan on having lunch on that side since they usually have the steak sandwiches there that I love. We are usually on the family beach with the kids and hardly get a chance to head to Serenity Bay, let alone lounge in hammock.

I can make graphics. I can do computer design. I can print them...I can NOT iron them on...lol.

I am thinking of making my own magnets. I was reading the thread and I guess I could just make a sign (THAT I can do), print it out and use magnet tape strips to put it on the door. I am thinking THIS will be ok.

That will be the next job I tackle, magnets. So much to do, so little time.

I have the kind of kids that I have to drag out of the kids club. Actual conversation with my daughter who was 5 at the time...

Me: Hey Morgan, go with me to the Goofy dance party

Morgan: No thanks...I want to stay here

Me: Pleeeaaassseeee go with me. There is lots of dancing.

I have heard of others having problems. I guess I was lucky then. I did shirts for my son's class for the end of the year for everyone to sign. I used the Wilton Iron on for dark fabric (I hear they work on light ones too) and had no problem. Wish me luck with these shirts. I have the iron ons printed but not ironed yet.

I have done a few magnets already. I bit the bullet and bought magnet paper online at a reasonable price. I personalized some without dates so I could reuse them on future cruises. I have read of others printing them on paper, laminating, and using magnet tape. Let me know how it turns out.

Cruisinmama- Too funny about your dd! I would go with you if you got me blinking mouse ears! BTW, my friend and I don't have any excursions planned. We're just playing it by ear. After my poor experience doing Discover Atlantis, we just figured that we'd do our own thing this trip. Of course, the last time I was pretty limited in what activities I could do having a 3 year old which most things weren't suitable for. They need more family friendly activities for those of us with little ones, IMO.


Fivepin- Thanks! We'd love to have a drink with ya! I did the magnetic paper on my last trip. It's SO expensive though! I could only locally find it at Office Depot and it was around $16 for 5 sheets! No room for mistakes, and fortunately I didn't make any. I can't use a lot of those magnets this time because they have my dd's name on them and she won't be joining us. I also ordered some magnetic tape and did some mouse ears with that. The best really are the mouse ear magnets for your room number. If anyone is interested in that I can try to find the info on here for you.

It's actually mouse ears that you put on your door number that makes it look like Mickey's head. I will search and see if I can find the info for you. I'm getting ready to go out, so if I can't find all of it today I'll look more tomorrow.

Congrats!! Hooray for pixie dust!! I won't be upgraded because I requested a specific room this time (the same one from last time.) It's a sideways category 11 and I love them!
