Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

We have one new family joining the FE exchange. I'll post an updated list as soon as the next page starts, which I'm going to try and get it to do by posting a few more posts here, if ya'll don't mind :)

I'm anxiously awaiting the reports which will start next week, of people's experience with the new port opening times. My rental car has to be returned at 9 am so I'm charged the less than 24 hour rate. I don't mind standing in line OUTSIDE the terminal as long as thats what we CAN do, and as long as I have someone to Chat with (I know I will because Sheri will at least be with me) :thumbsup2 I wonder if the local hotels and car shuttle's will be adjusting their shuttle times to coincide with the new port times. What do you think?

My boys came home from camp last Friday, and now they have left again this morning for the 4 night camp at another sleepaway camp. I miss them already, AGAIN!!

I think I need just two more posts to get this to the next page, so here's one along with a graphic for FIRST CRUISE should anyone be on their first Cruise. For anyone who wants it, I can personalize it with your Family name if you would like :)

Started making my FE today. With the boys helping it is not looking the best. But we made it together and it is special. I love when they take an interest in making stuff with me.

Thats how the BEST memories are made:thumbsup2

Awesome David, I can actually see her now!! Tim's not here right now, he's out working with his Dad today but WILL be home in time for the Sail Away! He did talk to me about LEGO and has picked the ship he wants us to get for him. I'll give you those details later and I thank you again so much for being able to help me out with that. :thumbsup2

The pictures and how you told Tim are great! What a fun day! :cool1:

Can you please tell me more about the LEGO ships!!! Are these new? Do you know how much they are? I have to pick up some "Guilt Gifts" for the kids I'm not taking on this trip and I think Grady would love a LEGO DCL ship! I'm hoping to find something with DCL and peace signs for Megan. :confused3

I am going to have to do some DIS reading to find out more about this change. I did pick a time to board when I booked our excursions/Tea/Brunch. Is that all I need to do?

Thank you,

Tiffany

I received a confirmation e-mail from DCL this morning that shows a credit to our account. It's only $11.52, but hey, that's something!! I'm thinking that it may be a fuel surcharge refund as we had the same thing happen on the last cruise, but I'm on hold with DCL to find out for sure!

BTW--We're only 59 days away!!!!

ETA: I finally talked to a CM, and they told me the credit is actually for government taxes! Never had that before, but I'm not complaining!!

How funny! I saw that credit, there are 3 of us in our cabin (Girlfriends Cruise) and we each paid our third separately, so I just thought one of us overpaid. Now that I know what it is from I'm going to have to give Kaye and Laura their share. :cool1:

Oh,,,, the SHIPS..... Sorry, I should have been more specific. I WISH Lego made DCL SHIPS! I'd be first in line to get one of those for MYSELF!! LOL. But no it's not DCL ships, they are Star Wars Ships I was talking about, like Space Ships. Star Wars is the ONLY lego my son will collect. We LOVE the Lego Store in DTD, but just don't see us getting there this year :)

And as for the new port times, they are supposedly as of Aug 2nd, now going to only open at 11am instead of 10 a.m. and will start enforcing the Port arrival times people get when doing online check in. I'm SURE there are a large number of people who DON'T do online check in. (For our 1st and 2nd cruise we didn't even know about online check in). I'm not too worried because we have the earlier arrival time anyway, but I will watch those initial reports from the terminal as to how it's all being handled :)

We are flying in on Fri. too, planning a DISmeet with a couple of people we met on our last cruise. We are staying at CSR my DH loved the resort when we visited for dinner last Oct. We will take the cruiseline bus to port on Sun.

I am debating on getting Night of Joy tickets so we can spend some time at MK from 4 to midnight and catch some great performances. Just worried it will be too crowed. Does anyone know what it's like?

We went to Night Of Joy last September and I love the bands lined up Sat night, but will not spend a dime on this event again. It was so crowed you could not see the bands, there was not a place to sit. We tried going to the terrace (where the Noodle Station was) where they have tables and chairs, but the radio station was blaring on the speakers and we could not hear the band we were watching on the stage. Also the band we most wanted to see was Casting Crowns, but we missed them because after waiting 45 minutes (standing the whole time) the band did not come out. We finally had to leave at 1:20am because we could not stand anymore (we also made the mistake of thinking this was family friendly and bringing Grady & Megan who were 10 and 7 at the time). I never did find out what happened or if the band ever came out. We were not even given an update as to what the hold up was. The local amusement park here in NC has a SonFest and has a lot of the same bands. The bands play in an arena, so there are seats and it does not cost as much.

We were shocked that we did not enjoy this event because we have been to MNSSHP and MVMCP(is that right? The Christmas Party), but found out this is not a "Disney" run event after we got there and it showed. We paid over $250.00 for the 4 of us and went home sad.

That's my 2 cents. Hope I didn't ramble on too much.

Grady loves the Star Wars ships too, but a DCL ship might get me out of the dog house. :rotfl2: I can't imagine why they are so upset that I'm sailing the Dream without them. :confused3 I'm really not a bad Mom - we are booked on the Fantasy in June 2012 with a week at WDW after the cruise.

I'm going to have to log onto my reservation and see what our arrival time is. This might get crazy - I hope everything is ironed out by Sept. 11. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. popcorn::

Thank you,

Tiffany

I'm sorry I've posted so many times in a row. I'm trying to catch up by reading backwards. :rotfl2:

I've been so busy sewing I have not had time to get on here a lot.

My DH is on a Mission trip building houses in El Salvador and is gone for 2 weeks. He gets back on Aug. 6 - late and Grady and I leave Aug. 7 - super early (4:30am :scared1:) for our Mission trip to New Mexico. This is a new Mission trip and we don't know what we will be doing yet. I've driven through NM once when moving from the west coast to the east coast and remember how beautiful the area was. We're really looking forward to it!

Once this trip is done I can turn my attention to this cruise! I'm making a special FE for the three of us, but can't decide if I should make it cruise specific or generic. I want to give it to either Laura or Kaye after the cruise, but I'm just not sure yet what to do. Any suggestions?

Tiffany

I completed my online check in today. I have a boarding time of 11:30- noon. Woo hoo I am so excited I cant wait to get on the boat.

Our GTY status now has a stateroom assignment. The stateroom doesn't have the best reviews (2 of them) but it doesn't have the worst either. THe most important issue to me is that it at least has the proper number of beds! (unlike the room we were initially given for the 2nd half of our cruise) :) So all of you with GTY rooms, keep checking that status!

Just wanted to pop in to say a fast hi to one and all. :wave2: Hi! It must be getting close, the cruise I mean. I see that everyone is receiving their room numbers. Hope you get the one you want!!!

Well, got to go and get ready for work this morning. Talk to ya'll later!:cool1::woohoo:

I was just wondering if anyone was thinking of going to Atlantis for the day?
As you might know you can inquire a day pass but renting a hotel room at Comfort Suites next door for the price of a room. ;)I wanted to offer my services as a travel agent to help you find the best rate. I love deals like everyone else and thought I would pass on my savings and finds to all of you.
I was looking up prices and I was able to get one room with a max of 4 people per room for $166.00 plus $65.78 tax for a total of $231.78.
Thats $57.98 per person to enjoy a day at there resort. I am looking into other excursions and will post more when I find deals.
You can e-mail me at Laura@TimeToEscapeTravel.com
Thanks and can't wait to meet all of you.

I am getting so excited for our vacation. :yay:
Who has started packing already?

I have to get home from a Mission trip to NM with Grady (Aug. 7 - 17)and then a Quilt retreat with my friends at the end of Aug. before my luggage will be free to pack for this trip, but I'm putting stuff to the side ready to go! I'm getting ready to order FE gifts so they will be here to finish up too. Other than that I'm just making lists. :rotfl2:
