Sept. 11, 2011 It's never too early to Dream

If there was any reason that your nephew would have to return to the U.S. via plane rather than the boat he left on, he would need a passport. If there's an accident and he or someone in your party would need medical attention in the States, he would not be able to fly back without one.

Hi everyone! We (me and my DH) just booked this cruise today. We were supposed to go on the October 9th sailing, but had to move the reservation since my DH's job got in the way.

Sorry, I have been MIA for a bit.

Want to give a big :welcome: to all of the newbies! I just added all of the new cruisers to the first page. If I missed anyone please pm me and I will add you.:goodvibes

Booked a 9:30AM Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim for Nassau (bucket list ... check! :thumbsup2 ), followed at 3PM by a Couples Spa Villa treatment. Also got a 6:20 at Remy for our At-Sea day. Palo Brunch was all booked up, but that wasn't a priority, so we're good with it.

Actually had a minor freakout, because I hadn't realized it was already 9PM Pacific. My fiancée and I were at our -last- pre-marriage counseling session, and it ran a bit late. My alarm went off just as we were leaving ... had to hightail it to a WiFi spot so I could get booked. :lmao:

Can't believe how close it is now!:rotfl::woohoo:

Just got reservations for Remy & Palo!

I chose Palo 8:30pm on the at-sea day, and Remy 8pm on the Nassau day.

I'd like to switch to Palo brunch if one comes available.

Do you experienced cruisers know of any big conflicts for either of those days/times? I knew enough to not schedule a dinner on Pirate Night (Castaway Cay, right?)

For those who haven't made ressies yet, as of 6am/E this morning there were a few reservations for 2 left at both places.

Also saw that a couples Castaway Cay cabana massage was still available. Do those usually book up in advance? I would LOVE it, but not sure if hubby would and not sure the price is for us either -- $294+tip.

I don't know if anyone else can confirm this but I thought Pirate Night was on our "At Sea" day. I will have to go back and double check email from travel agent but I think that is what she said.

Just did a search and found out that Pirate Night is on CC day. Makes sense as the last night is quite busy with everyone needing to pack and set out luggage. It wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable on the last night.

I just went back and checked the email from travel agent (Dreams Unlimited) and she stated Pirates night/fireworks was on Nassau day, not Castaway Cay day (sorry, I thought she said Sea Day). So if it is Castaway Cay, then I need to change the day we celebrate my DD birthday. We wanted it on firework night.

Guess I need to send another email:confused3

Edit_ I just called Disney Cruise Line. After a 25 minute wait... yep, pirate night IS on Castaway Cay night. Plus they had the birthday celebration down for me not my DD. So glad this came up.

are we there yet, are we there yet!

Yep it has been one of those days.... I just wanna be "dreamin" about now!

Sorry I've been away. I had some medical issues and was a bit concerned that I might have to cancel the cruise. :sad2:
Well I'm back and ready to go! :thumbsup2
I'm trying to schedule chemotherapy around our trip and will be there with bells on...I may be minus some hair but that will only help my pirate look pirate::goodvibes
I'm excited and can't wait to be onboard.
I'll see everyone there:banana:
Dee :)

Oh my! I hope everything goes well for you. DH was in the same predicament during our last cruise so we can definitely relate to what you are going through. In fact, DH has a couple of nasty tests to go through mid July. We are hoping that further treatment will not be needed. We certainly wish you the best and hope for complete remission for you. If you would like to speak privately please feel free to pm me. Good luck! pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yeah, I honestly have not been terribly pleased with the way DU has handled my trip(s). Probably won't book with them again. The kicker was the $2.00 charge to change my transfers because they got into the system wrong because of how the agent told us to book it. If I hadn't caught it, I would have been stuck without transfers to WDW after the cruise! :scared1:

That said, after reviewing some old navigators and seeing the times of the shows and what not, I moved my Remy reservation from the last night to Castaway Cay night. Yes, we'll miss the Pirates in the Caribbean show and stuff, but we should be done in time for fireworks. Just didn't want to miss "Believe" on the last night, and didn't want to miss one of the restaurants in the rotation.

I saw that someone else on another board posted this:
What made it really special was our DIS Meet group. Interestingly, if you look at our Meet page, you'll only see about 34 pages worth of 'chatter.' The reason for that --- and I think the reason for the ultimate success of the group --- is because we wound up taking most of the non-generic DIS chatter over to Facebook. Over on Facebook, about a year before the cruise, we created a secret group (totally private) that DISers who were going on this cruise could request to join. While on FB, ensconced in the comfort of privacy, we were chatting all day long the entire year with the benefit of real names, being able to friend one-another and being able to put profile pictures to names.

Now I am not Facebook savy enough to do this but this might be a fun way for all of us to keep in touch and get to know each other better prior to our sailing? Just a thought, it could be fun......

I am in, IF someone else is able to get it going :confused3 Sorry.

I am in! I think that sounds really neat. Even though I haven't been on the thread much, I still try to keep up with all the posts.

Count me in for Facebook as well. I'm on there all the time, so that would be great. I'm not quite sure how to start a group either though. I normally access FB from my phone and just took a second to see if I could figure it out, but I wasn't able to. If no one else knows how, then I can definitely try and it figure it out once I get home and can get on from my PC.

Aww, no luck in booking brunch at Palo. Still crossing my fingers that something opens up before then or that I'm able to book onboard. :goodvibes

Hey to those who are interested in joining a Facebook Group just for us on this thread, it seems fairly easy. We have to have a name though. You just go to the left of the FB page and click on "Create Group". Then you insert your name and then you can have it Open, Closed, or Secret. I have never created one before. Has anyone else? I don't know if we would need an "administrator" or something. I can check and let everyone know. If it doesn't take much time, I think:scared1: I might can do it!;)

I've done a private group before, you can have more than one person as an administrator. It's not too hard. I can help if you need.
