There is a charge for wifi onboard. We don't usually take ours, as it's more weight. Someone might be able to post the costs for you. You can do it by the minute or buy a package that is a bit better value.

If you check out the first page it let's you know the port free wifi spots. There is an Internet cafe onboard you can use too, which is the same charge as using your own laptop.

Water is available from the drinks station, but you can buy a bottled water package if you would prefer that

I think I'll leave lappy at home, he'll be glad of the break! :surfweb:

DD 14 will be in meltdown if she can't contact her friends for more than 5 mins. :rolleyes1 It will be nice to have her back, so to speak

I won't bother with the water package. I'm happy to use the drinks station.

I've just changed my flights to the day before and I have booked the Novotel City hotel. :yay: Is anyone else staying there?

I hope I win the lottery tonight I'm gonna need the funds. ;)

Are there any single parents out there too?

Also, after reading a different thread, my Son will be 10 and 8 months, which club would be best suited to him. I thought the older one but it seems as though Disney are quite strict about this? What are your thoughts on whether to allow this age group to come and go as they please and to leave clubs when he wants? Can I ask they he must be signed in/out and then change it as time goes on? He's a good kid and very resourceful, I'm pretty sure he will have sussed out the burger joint and pizza place within minutes :rotfl:

My daughter 16 has special needs is there a facility to have her signed out of teen club? I can just imagine her wondering around the ship lost for hours :scared1:

&Copper
I know :woohoo: and my ticker factory app says we still have 5 months 2 weeks and 2 days to wait :rotfl:
LOL's Mary, mine says the same.
I love counting down with everyone though as we're all in the same boat:rotfl:
Wow, plane spotting looks amazing. That is definitely going on my list of things to do :cool1:

Can I ask...is there free WIFI on the cruise or should I just leave laptop at home? :surfweb:

Also, do you have to pay for water on board?
We take our little netbook with us, but never use the onboard wifi as I've heard it's very slow.
I am sure Marilyn & John found some free wifi spots and the places that they found are somewhere in this thread, maybe toward the front of it?
Found the cost and more info for you Melanie, here:

Some of you might like to watch this video. Epcot in 5,151 photographs. Amazing.

I've just been watching that...amazing, must of took ages to do that.

we stayed at the novotel last year - we havent decided what we're doing this year about flying in and hotels, but if we did go in the day before again, we'd have no problems with staying at the novotel again. its a lovely clean new-ish hotel, right across the road from a shopping centre (with a large carrefour supermarket and disney store amongst other things), and only about 5 mins walk from the metro station, where you can get a train into the centre of barcelona. there's also free internet in the lobby which is handy.

not sure about the teens being signed in/out. i know they dont need to be normally, but it'd be worth you contacting DCL directly to ask about this. i'm sure you're not the first/only person to have this question.

Unless they've changed the rules since my DD (who was 15 at the time) was in the teen club and my memory serves me correctly:blush: We never had to sign her in our out of the teen club, she just came and went as she pleased.

Is there a cast member around in the teen group? If so I may be able to arrange something. I'm sure she will be fine after a few days and got her bearings.

Yes, I'm sure there is.

I think there are wave phones now, unless they haven't been installed on the Magic yet. Maybe someone knows for sure.
I've read that they are on the Dream and the Wonder. A great way to stay intouch with other members of your party onboard.

This is what they are:

Looks like they are on the Magic http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2599324

We bring our laptop so we can download ALL of our pictures and videos.. DH goes pic crazy:rotfl2:

Has anyone out there done the alone time in the spa or the body wrap? Thinking about doing this for myself..want to know if it is worth the money.

The wave phones were installed on the Magic at the dry dock after last year's WBTA. My friends said they were great on their Xmas cruise on the Magic, fantastic way to keep in touch:thumbsup2

Now this should be fun, I wonder who will be brave enough to share their experiences!!!;):lmao: Though, sorry I can't help you!

We behaved, but I'm learning that may not be the norm! One can think of it as getting a mud wrap, but you are having the mud applied by your partner as opposed to a therapist.

I haven't done a body wrap onboard the ship, but have at various spas.

One time, Curt and I were each chosen as "demos" to be used on embarkation day (this was on Celebrity). I received a free 2.5 HOUR hot stone massage -- people would walk through and the therapist would explain what she was doing. Yes, I WILL lay naked under sheet with strangers stopping by in exchange for a free massage!! :rotfl2: Curt was in a different room being the demo for reflexology. He loved it! Another cruise he was a demo for something else --- I can't remember because I was preggo on that cruise and could not do the spa treatments. I think they offered me the teeth whitening demo, but I wouldn't do a thing while pregnant.

not my cup of tea but i've heard that its a very popular thing.
Thanks for that thread! My DH is very sensitive to perfumes and strong smelling lotions: hates anything that resembles "aromatherapy." Can anyone remember how pungent or sweet smelling the oils, lotions, mud, salts are? This sounds like fun...
