Mandygirl.......did you know that the video by Kenny Chesney "No Shoes, No Shirts, No Problems" was filmed there at White Bay/Ivan's Stress-Free Bar? I watched it and realized it was that bar. Really cool! :thumbsup2 Makes me a little more excited about the Tortola excursion (not that I wasn't already pumped as it was! lol:banana:)!

Yep! :thumbsup2 And that Blue Chair song was recorded on JVD as well. Kenny and Renee Zellweger married on St John a couple years after we did... they were really trying to copycat us. ;) At that time, he had several properties, including a home on St John as well. We will be able to easily see St John from JVD --- the north shore of St John where Caneel, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, etc are (from some of his songs). "Foxy's Firewater" that Kenny references in songs is also on JVD. St John is less than four miles away.

If i could figure out how to get a wedding cake back over to JVD from the same chef we used for our wedding (affordably) we would do that again. We used to get a cake when returning, and share it on our wedding beach. :lovestruc But probably can't do that USVI vs BVI. This is the catamaran we chartered for our wedding reception, and had it drop us off back on St Thomas since we were in port for a cruise. Surprised the whole family with that reception. Nothing like wedding cake and Painkillers (the drink) in your swimsuits on a catamaran for a reception! (I almost pulled Curt into the ocean in my wedding dress before changing, but didn't think he'd go for it.) Love love love this whole area.

Here is the Soggy Dollar bar website ... home of the original Painkiller.

Great. Now my mind is mush the rest of the day! So love that area.

Tortola has some shopping, rum cakes, etc - but not as extensive as St Maarten the day before. Taking the daysail over to JVD will be very relaxing!!

Thanks for that thread! My DH is very sensitive to perfumes and strong smelling lotions: hates anything that resembles "aromatherapy." Can anyone remember how pungent or sweet smelling the oils, lotions, mud, salts are? This sounds like fun...

DH and I did the rasaul on one of our first cruises. We had read some of the stories of previous goings on too. I suppose it up to those individuals what they do behind an unlocked door for an hour which is only interrupted by a knock that you have 10 mins to go ;)

We had such a laugh, the floor was covered in the body mud, we were really naughty and had a bit of a flinging match with it at the end :rotfl2:

I asked DH when he came home today if the smells were really pungent, he only remembers it being mineral smells, but doesn't remember it being too bad.

At the time we did it, it was an opportunity for us to definitely have an hour to ourselves without our DD butting into every conversation lol. The pager had been taken from us at the front desk of the spa and went off while we were in the rasual as DD wanted to come out of the kids club, the spa staff contacted the lab and said that "Mum and Dad are busy, they'll be along in half an hour".

I thought it was quite good value then at around $65 for what we thought was good fun and the glass of champagne was appreciated :thumbsup2

Mary thanks for sharing your pics, you just made me even more excited if that's possible!!!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

I am so glad they have the wave phones on the Magic now, we loved them on the Dream. They are so useful for when I lose DH. :rotfl2:

Yep, we bring our netbook too......we take too many pics! :thumbsup2

Stevie and I used to always use the magnetic whiteboard on the stateroom door to write down where we both were, but the wave phones will be great that we don't always have to go back to the room to try and keep a track of what activity we are both at :thumbsup2

When I checked out our WBTA pics today, we had taken 750 ish :lmao:

It was indeed me filming ... I try and stay behind the camera wherever possible !!! That horn battle was EPIC !!!!

WE're going to Maho beach !!
Can't wait to go there .. Tony wants to do the whole hanging on the fence thing. I don't think behaviour like that is covered by our travel insurance somehow :confused3:confused3

I love the dress you are wearing in this photo.

Amazing photos .. is that really Lynne? Has she seen this photo !! She does have a video on youtube taken by herself when she was rolling in the sand.

The horn battle was brilliant, I was so glad we were able to hang around that evening with time to listen to it.

I think that dress may be making an appearance again this year :)

It was definitely Lynne, we could not believe how far she got blown across the beach it was hilarious!!

This is sooo coooool!!! We will definitely be watching from the bar, with a refreshing adult beverage (or three) in hand! :drinking1 No fence hanging for us, I'm afraid. :rotfl:

We are going to Maho Beach too, although I haven't told Lee about the planes I was going to let him just see them when we get there. But I know he will be hanging from the fence.....I'll come and join you in the bar and we'll let the men do the extreme sports. :rotfl2:

Looks like we are all going to sitting at the bar , having quite a few cold ones, watching Tony and Lee hanging from the fence and then getting sand blasted :rotfl:

Our flight is getting in a bit later however we are hoping to get to the Carrefour and Disney store before they close.

OMG Disney Store Barcelona..... I didn't know that one !!! Been to the Paris and Rome ones, but did not for one minute think about there being one in Barca :yay:

I won't manage on the WBTA as we are flying straight in and going to the port.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Will check it out when I am there in June - must remember my DVC card for my 10% discount :dance3:

Thanks Leanne :thumbsup2

just to warn you though, they dont really stock anything different from the UK disney stores :( plus the exchange rate makes it more expensive than buying the same thing from the UK

We tried to book the Rasual on our first cruise but when we got there they were having problems with the lighting in the room and so it was cancelled as the electrician took ages to arrive. I only want to do it so we can have a mud fight....we are so childish! :rotfl2:

That was a great idea with the white board.

Oh dear! I am embarrased to say how many we took on the FOUR night Dream Maiden Voyage..........over 2500!

BTW if anyone wants to see any of my Dream MV pics (or my ugly mug) then i've just finished my trip report (link in my sig) but don't feel obliged too as it's long with tons of pics!

Sounds good to me. :rotfl2:

i think its "new ship" mania - on our first wonder cruise i took 1000 in 3 days.....

Ooohhh you'll have to give us a full report on it when you get back in June. :thumbsup2

DD has her exams in May, so we are heading off in June to recover from the stress of the whole thing. Luckily her exams are finished in the middle of exam time which gives us a bit of a slot to go on holiday while others are still doing their highers and sneak in a cheeky DCL trip. One has to take advantage while the Magic is in the med :thumbsup2

Looking forward to the ports on the 10 night cruise. A chap did a full video blog report on his similar 11 night one last year which we watched last Saturday night armed with a glass of wine and we were getting so excited. He did a fantastic trip report. Only difference between the 10 and 11 is an extra sea day in the middle.

Wish you guys were all coming, it would be a blast !!!

While they're getting sand-blasted, we'll just be getting blasted! :rotfl::drinking1

so is everyone heading to maho beach on st maarten? we havent decided what to do but i really fancy going to one of the stables where they do the beach horseback riding and you get to go into the sea with the horses. think that'd be pretty awesome :)

That sounds amazing but, unfortunately with DHs bad back, he couldn't participate.

We had such fun at Maho last year, we want to do it again :thumbsup2

that sounds like the best idea i've heard in ages!! wonder if everyone will make it to dinner that night after such a drinking session..... ;)

(side story kinda related - last 3 night cruise we did there was a tour group from the jacksonville chamber of commerce sat near us in the dining room. they were a big group that obviously liked the cruise and liked their drinks. on castaway cay they were all on serenity bay drinking the whole day. not all of them made it to dinner that night, and only about 5 or 6 made it to breakfast the following morning..... we were taking bets on how many would actually turn up...)

Lol i'll be snoozing in the car back to the ship and re-charging the batteries for the sailaway cocktail :cool1:

I've never really seen anyone wasted on DCL :lmao:

That's mental, we've only ever had the odd cocktail of the day on CC and we've never been to serenity bay before. We just stayed on the family beach last year because it was so quiet :)

We bring our laptop so we can download ALL of our pictures and videos.. DH goes pic crazy:rotfl2:

Same here. For the MV of the Dream and the 3 days we did at WDW in January DH ended up with nearly 3,000 pics. Digital makes it so easy now to take as many as you want. I remember the days when I had my 110 mm camera with the 10 pack of flash bulbs and I had to be super selective what I used flash for :rotfl2:

I wish I was coming too.....hopefully next time the Magic comes back. :wizard:

What a great way to celebrate your DD's exams being finished. :)

Hey Lauren, were you guys on the dream Maiden Voyage too??????

Wow! I haven't been on the board since last night and I had 6 pages to read to catch up...What a CHATTY group!!! :rotfl:

Some of us staying at the Hilton are there on Hilton Honors points - plus its a DCL hotel, so there is cruise check-in at the hotel (I'm still waiting for more info on how this works).

Lynne, we stayed at the Hilton Diagonal Mar last summer and were able to do the cruise check-in there. Disney had a separate table set up in the lobby with 2 CMs who basically did all of the check-in right there. We received all of our boarding stuff and they took our individual "pre-cruise" photo for your KTTW card at that time. (Ugh, that was one a bad photo, in fact she had to take mine twice :rotfl2:...we had just gotten in from our 9-hour overnight flight. We looked frightful! :scared1:) We also received our Castaway Club lanyards.
When we got to the port on sailing day, we went straight into the line for group photos and then boarded the Magic! It made the boarding process so much easier. :thumbsup2

My daughter 16 has special needs is there a facility to have her signed out of teen club? I can just imagine her wondering around the ship lost for hours :scared1:

Hi Melonz,
Just wanted to drop you a little note. My daughter has special needs also (Asperger's) and has been on cruises with Disney both as a pre-teen and as a teenager. The staff was wonderful :flower3: both times. There aren't really any planned activities or planned supervision for the teens, but the staff was able to help my daughter get oriented the first couple of days - after that she hung out with the teens wherever they went or she would just choose to lay by the pool, see a movie, etc. by herself. She had a GREAT time, and we were very comfortable with her being "on her own" there.
(Feel free to PM me if you have any specific questions....love to help!) :goodvibes
