why... oh why... can't I go to sleep after a 2:30 AM feeding? I laid in bed an hour before busting out the laptop... typing quietly to not wake Curt.... shhhhhh......:hourglass

Oh no! It didn't even occur to me that it's the middle of the night for you. I hope you get back to sleep soon. :wizard:

Thank you Mandy :)

Well I blame you for posting about it. ;)

I just bit the bullet and went for it, they look a little more spacious from the photos and clips so we are now in 5001. :cool1:

congrats on the retirement sandy!! i agree, a cruise is an awesome way to kick start it all off!

thanks to mandy for posting the youtube vid and floor plan of the sideways cabin, we've got one booked on deck 6 and havent stayed in a sideways before, so its great to see what we're getting ourselves into!!
also its also great to know that we've got a steamer trunk - the top of that ended up becoming our drinks cabinet last cruise!! and with 14 days on the ship this time, we definately need a bar!

I visited a friend in a sideways cabin and thought it was great. It didn't feel like that dark cave that the normal inside cabins can look like. I think I would go for one if that was the choice I had.

I just realized I haven't been paying attention to cabin changes, so...

If you've changed your cabin number since signing up for the FE, please PM me so I can make sure I've changed that on my list.

Thanks!

Off to work - it's a doggy-bathing day for me.

Ah well, DH says he wants to stay at the back sooo we're staying at the back.

Good morning fellow cruisers I hope you are all well? :)

I don't know if I have missed the answer on here which relates to the email that was sent about the shops etc being closed on the day we dock due to a public holiday. I myself have also enquired and here is the reply,

Hi Emma
You will be surprised to know that all business , attractions and services will be available on the day.
Have a good day and hope you enjoy your visit.
:yay:

I hope this is the case as I was looking forward to the shops and also Morrisons :rolleyes1 for a few items.

Apologies if this has been covered and I am just repeating the topic.

Thanks Emma for the additional info re shops and attractions :)

There's four available now in that area - category 11B:
5509 5005 5505 5001

I had been keeping an eye on them if my parents were to book, and asked them again last week, but no luck. They've been available by typing in exact cabin number on DCL's website, but the other general 11B cabins must be booking now for these to start popping up (I think).

Easy access to kids clubs, few cabins so less foot traffic, and one deck away from fresh air on deck 4. :thumbsup2

I just had a look - they weren't available anymore

Interesting it says that sideways is just the same size, but laid out differently. Mind you, the sideways has a steamer trunk !! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: That's exactly what we did on our first cruise and it will be used the same way for this one. :drinking1

That's good to hear. It looks more spacious from the video/pics Mandy posted. :thumbsup2

I will PM you in a bit. :thumbsup2

That's a shame, I thought you were about to become my new neighbour. :guilty:

Are you thinking of changing aswell Mary?

Thanks Mandy for the video of the sideways cabin never seen it before..
Now can anyone tell me what the room with the secret porthole is about??:confused3

I would have done for the steamer trunk, having the storage space is excellent. We are usually in a cat 10, so it isn't usually a problem.

Ah I see, I thought you were in a cat 11 for this one.

I know Claire...I was getting excited, reading reports etc. Good Luck I take it Lee's all for it:thumbsup2

Yeah I asked him and he doesn't mind, he just goes along with it all. He is used to me changing everything.

Last WBTA we used the top of the chest of drawers and the cabinet above the tv.

I always put my towel animal of the day on top of the steamer trunk :)

I hear you :) Neil was just going to go along with it as I tweak regularly, but I was hesitating and just couldn't make my mind up so he decided to stay put!
You know what they say - he who hesitates!!!:rolleyes1
:goodvibes

Like all cabins, they each have pros! For us, knowing it is 14 days, two little ones with us, and we WILL have nap time each day, we knew we'd be in the cabin more than usual. With just DH and I when staying in insides, we are only there to sleep/shower, but this will be different.

i changed to sideways cabin 5009 last week due to having 8 month old baby, buggy in room so any extra space is needed, but wondering why all these people are now deserting cabins around me, is it beacause they will be a screaming wean :rotfl2:
