Thank you...so there might be a WBTA in 2012

given the amount of discounts theyve had to offer for the med cruises over the past two years and the ridiculous LACK of advertising in the UK for DCL, i'd be surprised if they stuck a ship here again next year unless they dramatically change the itineraries.

THE WEEK (OF DISBOARDS POSTS) IN REVIEW

awesome recap lynne!

Think I will "accidently" leave brian's kilt at home with all you ladies around lol !!

i dont think we'll be packing a kilt for gary, our luggage allowance will have us struggling enough as it is so think i'll have to give that one a miss!

A friend, the retired Deputy Inspector for the Gib police, told me that our day in Gibb may be hit and miss. He said many stores will be closed but many will be open. He did remind me to tell everyone to show your ship ID card as most retail shops will extend their discount.

ooh what discounts?!! lol

oh and with the shoe intervention, i warn you, i'm with lindababe, i cannot wear heels. at all. they kill my feet (hence the comfy timberlands!)

but you are more than welcome to stage a dooney and bourke messenger bag intervention....... methinks i might have to buy myself one of those beauties!

oh and even more good news (and much needed news!) - i cancelled my original TA booking a couple of weeks ago to take advantage of the UK resident offer, but never got round to rebooking. so technically, for the past two weeks, i havent been cruising at all! but just booked, got one of the sideways cat 11s on deck 6 forward :)

I agree, the lack of advertising (actually that should be "the NO advertising whatsoever") is ridiculous! :confused3

Well done on rebooking. What room # are you? Sounds like you are near us.

I agree with you on the lack of advertising...it was the Europe in auntylnne's post though that has me hoping!

I have been debating whether to change to that sideways cabin all week #6011?...LOL's

Really appreciate your putting that summary all together! :thumbsup2

Fantastic, thanks Lynne !! :thumbsup2

Sicily sounds fab, you'll have to share some photos when you get back. :thumbsup2

Will do :)

Well done on rebooking. What room # are you? Sounds like you are near us.

We all might be near each other, when we re-booked 2 weeks ago using the UK discount, they gave us room 6313, we are in between the sideways cabins :thumbsup2

What room are you in Claire?

There's going to be loads of us up there then, we're in 6011

Auntie Lynne, AMAZING RECAP - THANK YOU!

I might 'bite the bullet' and pay for the second suitcase. DH had to pay for both his on his recent ski trip. $200 in luggage fees on a round trip Delta flight. TG I can fly home on Southwest - :love:their 2 bag free allowance!

We paid extra for one. I think it's worth it, just to take some of the stress away. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to decide on hotels for Andrew and I. I found the Hotel Continental Palacete and it looks to be pretty good...it's in the Eixample district on the Rambla de Catalunya. We found a decent rate and the 24 hour availability of snacks sounds good because 1) I know how screwed up my clock gets traveling to Europe; and 2) I have a growing 13 year old boy who is hungry all the time! Anyone with any experience or knowledge of this hotel and it's location?

I think we've decided to check 3 bags (which means I'm buying one), but with the FE and SM and scrapbook exchanges, I know I'll never get it all in. We are definitely planning to do laundry on board....did it on our last cruise and it worked great!

We are both getting very excited for the cruise and our time in Barcelona. I think this will be a wonderful educational opportunity for Andrew and I both!

Karen

P.S., count me in on the shoe and bag intervention! Luckily my DH won't be along and DS knows to keep his mouth shut if he wants more pins!
