There are clearly many, many pros on this forum which is why I enjoy it so much. But, has anyone ever thought about a photo scavenger hunt? Must take a picture of your team doing certain things. Some challenges can be very difficult but always fun for all.

Just any idea. Can't wait to meet everyone.

While we have ability to print pictures while cruising, I am not sure everyone else on the cruise would have the same ability. How would that work?

Is the Morrisons in Gibraltar easy to find from the port or any excursions?
I'm not on the WBTA this year, but was last year, with a great group of DISers. Anyhow, Morrison's was something we were looking forward to in order to stock up for the remaining 12 days. This was taken from our stateroom and after going on a tour, a buddy and I walked the 1/2 mile or so with an empty suitcase to load up and return to the ship. The guys on board had a good chuckle when they viewed the contents on the x-ray.

Cheers!

PS. Hi Noel

Most people who took part said they enjoyed it .. there was just one couple who clearly didn't and they certainly weren't keeping it to themselves. They even made the winners feel bad about winning, which was what annoyed me the most.

That is such a shame that someone would ruin a fun time for everyone. I hate people like that.

We definitely want to stock up on some champagne in the ports .... really loooking forward to champagne on deck in the evening, or after dinner under the stars. Last time we only did it on the night before last and it was so lovely we wished we had done it many times. I am a bit worried about flying with it in my bags though in case the bottle breaks and everything gets soaked in champagne. Do you fly in with it from home?

Yes, we took the risk. In Stevie's job, he is a bit on an expert on packing goods etc, so we took one each in our suitcases and well wrapped too so that, in the event of breakage, it wouldn't leak over the clothes.... touch wood, only ever broken one bottle of duty free in a suitcase in decades! Everything stunk of vodka lol.

When you can get a bottle of moet & chandon at home for £15, even Morrisons in Gib can't beat that. Of course, we stocked up on lots of lovely bubbly there too, found some lovely ones :thumbsup2

I have to say, the first thing we do when we land in Barcelona is check that they are intact and move them into the hand luggage for transporting onto the ship.

Wow that is terrible, why would someone kick up such a fuss over a fun little game??? :confused3

That is amazing! I bet we can't get anything like that over here though.

:rotfl2: Taking the suitcase is a fab idea - thanks! :thumbsup2

Hiya

It's very, very easy to get too. You won't have any problems. On the straight road up from the port to the Town, it's just on one of the right hand turnings at the roundabout. Easy to spot. I think from memory it took about 15 mins.

We popped in on the way back to the ship at the end of the day. The shop was full of cruisers and the DCL staff didn't bat an eyelid at any of the hoards coming back on board with lots of Morrisons shopping bags :lmao:

Sounds like a plan ... if I have any weight allowance remaining I will try and do this :thumbsup2

If anyone is traveling with from home or doing the cruise with breakable liquids like wine, olives, olive oil, etc, I highly recommend wine diapers which we used last year. We didn't bring wine from home put purchased some along the way as well as olives, olive oil etc. One of the bottles broke on the way home and was confined to the diaper, not damagign any of my clothing.

What a cool idea. :thumbsup2

We did include photos in our scavenger hunt last year .... those who couldn't print just showed us the photo on their camera.

Hello there Mr Kraft :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

With the luggage restrictions on weight, we bought our wine in Barcelona and Gibraltar.

We are not too bad with British Airways thank goodness, we get a decent sized handbag, unlimited weight carry on and 23 kg hold luggage.

Just purchased some ultra lightweight new hold suitcases at the weekend at 3 kg each, which saves us 2.5 kg each compared to our old ones :woohoo:

No wonder you don't want to do it again Sarah...it's sad that some people are like that.

I never thought of taking an empty suitcase...I like it, that is such a good tip:thumbsup2

Sounds good Mary...

We've got a rubbish allowance - I'm always thinking of ways to lighten the load so to speak :)

So just confirming - clearly I am slow today and trying to catch up here. We could buy the 7 night wine plan even though it is a 14-night cruise? I saw they had 3, 4, 7 and 11 plans, so I was in the same boat not knowing if the length of plan had to match the length of cruise.

Two posts in a row regarding alcohol - clearly you see where our vacation priorities lie. :)

:rolleyes1 Thinking I may be ditching my table and hopping over to join you guys!!! ;)

That is always so frustrating when that happens. Whatever happened to manners, courtesy, ....

I think we will have an extra suitcase after we unload diapers and wipes we are packing for our then-15-month-old! :)

On a different note: I have now rebooked us with a TA for the OBC. Booking directly with DCL gave $25 OBC for booking online and $50 OBC for paying in full with Disney VISA. Booked a new rsvp with Dawn Moseley (Cruise Vacation Outlet) and get the same OBC as above but also another $225 OBC from her TA... for a total of $300 OBC. After booking with Dawn, she conference called DCL so I could cancel the original reservation and she could snag our original cabin at that time. This will be our ninth cruise, and I'm so glad I finally found a TA I feel comfortable with. She was truly great. So, all in all, I just rebooked our cruise with the exact same cabin and have an additional $250 OBC we did not have previously. My guess is that with the new interline policy, interline rates will not come out prior to penalty period, and if they do, since we are an inside cabin, we would not get the same quiet area we are after... so we are taking the gamble. I have already decided that prior to the WBTA, I am going to have the next one picked out so we can take advantage of onboard booking! (And just do it without telling hubby... LOL!)

Buckeye Goofy.....I love the idea of using a suitcase! I can just picture now a mass crowd of cruisers coming back to the boat at the end of the day lugging suitcases on board sloshing with their favorite "beverages"!:rotfl2: Now that the secret has been let out, I'm sure lots of people will be using this idea! lol I think it might be worth it just to stand out on deck and watch people coming back just to see if any are carrying suitcases!:dance3:

Love to hear what people have done on other cruises! Just when you think you have heard it all......!:rotfl:
