*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

If he was playing on the XBox (which he does a lot!) on the other hand I would have wrapped the power cable around his neck by now. ;)

 We celebrated our 30th anniversary yesterday and I swear it is because we have never had a game system in our house! :goodvibes That doesn't mean to say he doesn't play games on his ipod ;)

Okay, first - ONE WEEK UNTIL WE CRUISE!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Second - I packed a suitcase last night with ALL my FE gifts!!:banana::banana: Bought bags for the candy today, just need to decide if I am buying candy here or in Spain. Probably will by my Secret Mickey gift on board to save packing room.

Third - My husband FINALLY pulled the trigger and booked his flight to St. Maarten and hotel rooms!!!! :jumping1:

So, IF he gets his passport in time :scared1: AND neither of us have any cancellations or delays due to hurricane :scared1: THEN we should be meeting him when we get off the dock in St. Maarten!! What a great surprise that will be for my kids!!!! :dance3:

Bad news is, he doesn't want to miss another day of work so he is taking the 3pm flight home, which means he needs to be at the airport by one, so we will only get to spend a few hours together.

More bad news- the car dealership just called and my AC repair is going to cost $800. Maybe we should have waited for that news before booking the flight to St. Maarten

Think you need to check your calendar, unless you're planning on dropping in by helicopter in the middle of the atlantic, the rest of us are going next week!

Just called DCL and after I was assured TWICE by CM that even though I was on SWA, the transfer would take my luggage, get me to the airport, check my luggage for me and then get me a boarding pass this is how the conversation went:

ME: Okay, I just want to be sure, because I have seen different info elsewhere (i.e. the disboards) even though SWA isn't on your list of participating airports?

DCL: Well, that just means you can't do onboard check-in.

ME: Okay, so I won't get a boarding pass?

DCL: Um, yeah.

ME: Okay, but they'll still take my luggage to the airport and check it for me?

DCL: Um, yeah.

ME: Without having a boarding pass?

DCL: Um, hold on. HOLD... Okay, no, we can't check the luggage on, you will have to do that yourself.

ME: Okay, will you drop me off in front of SWA so that I can gate check it right there?

DCL: No, you will be dropped off in the transportation area.

Which, I take to mean the lowest level, so I would still have to get all the luggage and my kids and my mom up to the next level, check in, late board pass so crappy seating on SWA....

I think I am going to look for alternate transportation that can drop me off right in front of SWA at least and might be cheaper.

Taxis and transfer buses usually drop off passengers in the transportation area for departures, i.e. on the same level as the check-in desks - at least, at all airports I've been to...:confused3

Hi Everyone, by chance did you know we all have a date with the one and only Mickey Mouse next saturday :rotfl:....just can't wait. Isn't it funny the nearer the cruise gets the less tolarance of everyday issues I'm having !!

Have been out and brought two lovely dresses today... one for villians night ! but DH said " but you have packed " so I'm just going to have to do it again. I knew cutting down from 21 dresses to 20 was a big mistake :rotfl2:

Ok, I am taking deep breaths so I calm down and tell you the latest saga in the lanyard fiasco.

oh noel you must be pulling your hair out, once we are all aboard what will be will be. Just hoping for the best, so don't worry about it... lol I answer to most things if I have no name badge:thumbsup2
We all know how much effort you have put into this :worship::worship: thank you Noel

who was the person who likes Capt Morgan? My room mate Eilean is concerned she won't have anyone to share Cocktails with, Since her room mates don't, for the most part , indulge.

:thumbsup2 Am sure it won't be too hard to find someone to indulge with, if Eilean can't convert you !!

Welcome Aboard!!

Hi from Mike and Tracy, we look forward to meeting you all on our first ever cruise:cheer2:

we will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary on the trip.

:cheer2::cheer2::welcome::welcome::cheer2::cheer2:

 We celebrated our 30th anniversary yesterday and I swear it is because we have never had a game system in our house! :goodvibes That doesn't mean to say he doesn't play games on his ipod ;)

:cheer2: congratualtions karen ane ed thats great, hope you both had agreat day..... I must say from your photo's you don't look old enough to be doing that !! looking forward to meeting you both, our 25th is on 22/9, so you must give us a few tips :rotfl:

I must say games systems and the computer/slow internet is a real pain in this house :rotfl2:

Or it maybe I'm just getting old, I can still remember black and white TV, and I can bearly use my mobile to phone and text, and I know it does much more because the nice man in the shop told me so.... he just took no notice of my glazed expression :rotfl2::rotfl2:

It was such a beautiful day today that we decided to pop over to Pooh Corner and walk through the woods to visit Pooh Bridge and play some poohsticks. pooh:

We got the poohsticks for those that wanted them and whilst we were there we took some photos (fortunately it was later in the afternoon so it was very quiet down there, so much so all you could hear were the birds singings :) )

A fun fact for you all this evening .......
The Pooh Corner store that is in the photo (taken from car as so apologies for reflection :lmao:) was originally a sweet shop that Christopher Robin Milne and his nanny used to walk to from their house just up the road.

It used to be at least, not sure if things have changed in the last year or so, that at MCO there is the top level which is where you drop off; the middle level where you pick up; and the bottom level where you can walk to the parking garage and also where buses park. So from what I understand, the Disney Express will park on the bottom level and we will have to take the elevator or escalators up to the top floor and check in. BTW, if you are ever picking someone up late at night, have them meet you at the top level because it is deserted while the middle level is chaotic.

I called about a limo and it is a little less, but my mom doesn't want to deal with it - she feels it is "safer" to just ride with Disney, so that is what we are going to do. I just feel like we aren't getting the best part of the transfer, which is that they take your bags on board...

Just checking to see if DD is sorted out and safely at her destination; we moms like everyone battened down before the trip, don't we?

Yes ... she made it to Seattle in one piece and negotiated the aircraft change at Minneapolis. It was the longest 12 hours for me though!

Hazel and Annie lovely photos, it was a lovely afternoon today wasn't it.
Sarah glad DD made it ok
Seems we are all trying to tie up loose ends :thumbsup2. And I've decided I need to repack my case.... maybe a bad idea

It's raining at the moment, but I hope it brightens up tomorrow, it's the village garage sale tomorrow, over 150 households took part last year, it will be the first time in years we haven't taken part, but DH didn't want to so close to our holiday. Shame because in our case it involves wine and a BBQ, but at least this year we will be able to walk around together ( one of us normally has to man the stall )... but it's good fun and I may find a bargain for my holiday !! and at the very least I can have a bacon sandwich at the village hall

Oh my goodness, don't you just want stomp your feet when you can't get through to someone what you are asking.:confused3:confused3 I know in the past when I have been dropped off by Magical Express in the SWA area, there have been skycaps there with big carts for luggage. That might be an option for you. I would opt for the limo, but that's just me. You don't have to wait for everyone else to get off bus, etc.

See you soon

Can you do the online checkin 24 hours in advance from the ship, then do the bag drop? That way you at least get your boarding pass letter/number secure? (Then you just do "bag drop" at the ticket counter)

And also, what about "family boarding" if your youngest son is under a certain age? You board immediately after the A boarding group if you qualify and have a B or C boarding pass...

I believe if your youngest is under 5, the child and one person can pre-board. After the "A's" then there is family boarding. I am not sure what the age restrictions are, have not had to pay attention to that.

Are they going directly from the ship to the airport? You can checkin on line 24 hours ahead. When we get near the coast of Fla. Their cell phone should work without roaming charges, and you can go ahead and check in. You can print your boarding passes at the airport so don't worry about printing them when checking in.

When we leave for the airport on Friday what ever I've forgotten stays behind with all the stress of packing..... when it's out of my control it will be great

:worship::worship: we will be spending my birthday at Myrtle beach, and was thinking we would celebrate at The Melting Pot, does anybody know what this resturant chain is like
