*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

For those of you with GTY awaiting rooms... maybe they are working on them. I had looked a couple days ago to see what other category 9Cs were around me, and it showed the standard seven random cabins, plus I could specifically look up numbers around me and found several right around me (not listed in the standard seven that popped up). Today, you can't even choose 9C.

Just thought I would share... thinking they have blocked those out to start doing some assigning!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the information....but I'm tired of anxiously waiting:headache: So I've been trying to brainwash myself into not knowing my cabin assignment until I board the ship! :boat: do. not. care. Repeat after me......do. not. care. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I know:rotfl2:, but somewhere down the line occasionally we might have to be. Well only Tony will see the same dress at semi formal and Palo. If that were my husband he wouldn't notice if I had worn it before anyway.;):lmao:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: neither would my DH, lol it's just amazing the number of things in my wardrobe that have been there for ages if you know what I mean !!!!

I call my DH the "professional Packer. You would not believe what he can get in a suitcase. He packed for two weeks in Italy for both of us in one suitcase and I did no laundry. Of course there were no formal clothes. Good luck Sarah. I'm sure whatever dress you pick you will look great. I am not much of a dress person. I am a casual girl. I have nice pants and nice tops for dinner every night. Like I said on Facebook, we are boycotting formal nights and will respect them if our tablemates are not happy about it and go to Topsiders two nights for dinner. There are 14 nights, two won't matter.

I certainly wouldn't mind seeing you in pants and nice tops. I DID feel somewhat offended at the man who showed up with his shirt tail hanging out and his baseball cap on, though:eek: And the man in the muscle shirt with hair um.

. . .

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I like the idea of a personal packer, do you think they would have the knack of compressing the clothes as they pack !!! that would be really helpful in my case. Sarah I think that makes 8 dresses, which is much less than my 21 :rotfl2::rotfl2: so in my eyes I think you are doing great so far :thumbsup2
. . . maragret

You OWN 21 DRESSES????:faint:

21 dresses !!!! I am impressed !!! If I brought 21 dresses then poor Tony would be going to dinner every night in boxer shorts :scared1:

Sarah, do you need so many anyway? Your semi formal could do for Palo, and possibly you could do with just one formal dress and have different accessories? Just an idea.

The problem is I have two semi-formal dresses that I really want to wear .. one because I love it and the other because I think it is flattering ( flattering = drapey fabric that hides a multitude of sins )

:rotfl2::rotfl2: neither would my DH, lol it's just amazing the number of things in my wardrobe that have been there for ages if you know what I mean !!!!

Oh I know exactly what you mean.:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: and most of those items at the back of the wardrobe that have been there for simply ages were bought mega mega cheap in a sale and were such bargains that you just couldn't leave them there ;);)

Been lurking in a couple of other DCL threads - looks like Castaway Cay sustained an almost direct hit from the hurricane. Hope that they'll have it cleaned up by the time we visit!

Yesterday, the prices were UP on the cruise. No more of the fire sale $799 pp. My O/V gty was less than the cheapest inside.

[I AM JUST BANANAS TODAY!!

Well, it seems the company who I purchased the lanyards and badge holders shipped them to the wrong zip code. I specified UPS and they shipped USPS! Next instead of my zip code of 94062, they shipped to 49062 which is not Woodside, California but Kendall, Michigan.

Good grief!! Not only did they not ship it for signature only or insure it, they JUST SHIPPED IT!!!

Stay tuned!!

thats horrible, are they planning on making the situation right?

Man - I hope they can get them to you on time:scared1::scared1:

When do you fly out?

my plan for gibraltar was just to get off the ship and go to morrisons, then get back on (we stopped there last year so not bothered about seeing the sights again)
my parents owned a house in spain for the past 6 years, and spain have some good supermarkets. just found a mercadona supermarket thats only a 20 min walk from the dock (into spain), now thinking of taking a walk there in the morning, maybe stop for some lunch in a spanish cafe, then hitting morrisons on the way back.....
its sounding like a good way to spend the day, might even manage some paella in there somewhere......

About dresses, I am undecided on one of my formals and my semiformal. I know one formal for sure - its a yellow/gold colored cocktail dress that is almost the exact hue of Belle's dress. I think if Joe wears a blue jacket on formal night it would be great for photos w/ Belle and Beast!

We have noticed the same thing with our two dogs. They get very upset when they see the suitcases come out. They know something bad is about to happen. So we now put the suitcases in the upstairs bedroom...with the door closed...so they don't expect anything...though we will probably start doing some packing this weekend.

One of my dogs gets very upset, he even sulks! The other dog is too scatty to notice!

I keep all the cases and stuff that is ready to pack in the spare bedroom out of sight.

:welcome: to the DIS jking514!

Does anyone else's dog get really upset when the suitcases come out? That's one reason we wait until the week before to pack.
Yes animals can be so funny or not as the case may be, our cat gets very up set when it see's the suitcase. We have to make double sure she can't get into our bedroom because she like's to show her displeasure by doing something nasty on our bed !!!.... and then when we come back she always ignores us for a while

margaret

I'm connecting drink and dog name here
My two don't bat an eyelid when the cases are work-in-progress in the spare room, but as soon as they come up to the hallway, they start howling and crying and stand guard by the cases. We literally take them from the spare room to the car to stop them sounding like the are being murdered :lmao::lmao:

Mine just mopes around when he sees us packing. No screaming or surprises in our bed, but a pouty face and very sad eyes to look at. Something like this:

:hug: All will be well. They have time to make and ship a new set, if they work at it.

Sounds lovely!

I shall have 1 choice of color - Black. Black with black. black with silver. and just plain black. All the better to make a background for all you lovely young things :goodvibes

Our dog acts up more than usually..when it gets closer he just looks sad..it doesn't seem to bother the other ones.

Noel, that's just horrible. I hope they are able to find them.[/QUOTE

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments!! I am going to just relax for the rest of the night and believe they are going to find them!!

Noel, I am pretty sure that the Post Office at the incorrect zip code will just make the correction and send it on.

I am looking for opinions on this: I work in a very public place, so I always get a flu shot in the fall. It seems a bit early, but my local Walgreen's has a big sign announcing that "FLU SHOTS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!" Since we'll be flying in germ-ridden airplanes and stopping in germ-ridden airports, I am wondering if it might be smart to get the shot before I go. What do you think? Better early?

Thanks for any advice,
Karen
