*Sept 10th 2011 WB Transatlantic* - From Spain to Space Mountain - Part 6

thanks but my problem is I do not even have a printer! i am traveling and am in Germany right now staying in a one room attic room in an old farm house - I am lucky just to have internet now. There is a heat wave here right now, in the 90's, no air conditioning and just a small fan we borrowed, and no ICE!!! That part is killing me as I eat ice all the time - we also have no TV but that is not a problem so far (been here almost a week), but the ice - that is another story!!! I wanted a German expeirence living here and lets just say I am getting it - I am enjoying my time here but am looking forward to boarding the Magic!

Krisann

drop me a PM with your fave character and i'll see if my printer is going to cooperate

Krisann, where in Germany are you? We lived 9 years in Bitburg, in the Eifel.

Hello Thread 6!!!!! :cool1: Good morning happy cruisers!!

I asked DH too check my iPhone countdown app this morning as it was next to him charging, of course I know how many days we have left ;) but he has been really busy at work. So he picks it up and looked at it, then looked at me all puzzled and said it must be wrong it says 15 days??? I just laughed and said IT'S RIGHT!!!!!! :lmao: At which point he let out a big cheer. :dance3:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: :yay::yay: :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Aaaaaargh, why didn't they leave closing the thread until this morning when we Brits had a chance to read and copy for replying?:headache::headache::headache:

Just copied one post then and have forgotten who wrote it sorry.

Quote 'Unbelievably, my MIL loves to sneak up behind me and feel my waist with her hands to see how much weight I've gained or lost. Wait till she sees me after Barcelona's offerings, 2 weeks of Disney dinners, and lots of FAB's! Her expression will be priceless! ' Quote end.

Well I had a hysterectomy early, I was about 30. Sometime after we visited my MIL. Granted I have always had a bit of a rounded tum but I was at the slimmer end of my normal size just then. But she looked at me and said "you're not pregnant again are you" with a silly smile on her face. Erm.:confused3 Ever felt like slapping someone. Hysterectomy, pregnant?

Our visits more often than not began with 'you've put on some weight'. Which was right, but no need to say it.:lmao:

I only see my MIL maybe 4 times a year for weekend visits and over the last 20 years there is always a comment re my weight whether I am at my lightest or heaviest :confused3 there really isn't any need :lmao::lmao: I think it comes from their own insecurities with their weight

I was going to say there that I would never do that to my DIL, but just realised , only having one daughter, I will only ever have a SIL :rotfl2::rotfl2:

ok here are some ramblings from me - I tried to take notes from the other thread = we shall see -

I have seen the movie and read the book The Help - and now I find out it is a Disney movie so it might be on the cruise!!! I will see it again but I could have skipped paying $45 for all of us to go to the movies and get popcorn had I known!!!

Is there a place that just has a listing of what is happening each day? I need to put it into my calendar on Outlook so it will download to my google calendar and ipad so I do not forget anything this cruise!

per the suitcases in WV - if it had happened 2 weeks ago we flew into Charleston to visit family and could have brought them to you as far as Fairmont! Where in Charleston do they live - I have family in Lincoln county (do I want to admit that???) but I was born, and my mother's mother's family and my father's family are all from Mannington (outside Fairmont - still in Marion county).

Per curley hair: mine is straight as a stick - I sleep in curlers just to get some curl - I will gladly take some of your curl!!! I have baby fine hair that doesn't even hold curls for very long! Never understood Straight as a Stick hair care products!

GatorMominNC - added your mother to my FE gifts.

The only new clothes I bought for this trip were PJ's - so I hope I do not forget the PJ breakfast!

Candy Swap - everyone have fun with this - we had to drop out when I went into the hospital with undiagnoised diabetes when my sugar was 591 - I am happy to say I am doing much better - even eating some candy - my children were the most disappointed, but I will get them some things as we go. If anyone has extras - I will be glad to exchange with you, even though I am not on the official list anymore.

This is weird not being on the computer the same time as people I am used to being on with on facebook and such - but glad to see and talk to others on the other side of the pond! Are you all having hot weather like germany?

Krisann

no favorite character - besides Daisy Duck - I will take anything, not picky!

Krisann, where in Germany are you? We lived 9 years in Bitburg, in the Eifel.

we are in a small community called Turk, which is outside Bad Reinshenhall (not sure I spelled that right) on a farm! It is so different here than in the states! But at least I am getting good bread, butter and small amounts of chocolate - just no ice!!! First thing I am hitting on the ship - the ice machine on deck 9!

Krisann, I know what you mean about the ice. While traveling in Germany I would go to McDonalds and order a large coke with lots and lots of ice. Really just wanted the ice.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I think at that time we only went 3 or 4 times and stayed a few days during the summer. She is now 95 and has dropped down weight wise to a little old bony lady. She has never been massive whilst I have known her but did have a slight problem. She was always a little odd with me and made numerous just slightly upsetting comments but now she is quite nice actually and wants me to visit with John as I keep the conversation going. Hard to believe I know!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Played around with MS Word and made a couple of ideas for traveling magnets:

The print is the problem i understand, but I see that Karen(tan) will print a traveling magnet for you. How wonderful the help everyone gives to each other.
I looked where you are now, and it is near the Austrian border I see.
Because here in Arnhem near the German westborder it is raining and thundering. So I need no ice, but I am at home, so ice enough in the fridge.

And I had also have to set all the activities in my calender, so it show on my iPad/iPhone, then I cann't forget it.

Morning everyone! You know how its hard to come back from vacation if you don't have anything to look forward to? Well, as of yesterday I have something great to look forward to!!! Two of my sisters are coming to visit me on Oct 5-9! We have never had a visit that is just the 3 of us as adults, so I am pretty excited!!:goodvibes

The only thing is now I've got to make sure my house is superclean when I get back from the cruise :scared1:

About 2 hours ago, I started :surfweb: on Page 215 of Thread 5 to prep the Weekly Recap. Realized it would get CLOSED at some point when the moderators noticed we had reached 250 pages - and since they didn't notice we had started that thread until page 200+, I figured I had some time. Went to hit QUOTE so I could copy something out of a post and noticed there was no QUOTE button. :scared1: No worries, just means I can't copy pictures from posts.

Bless you Lynne, that is a big job!

Nice magnets!
I vote for the Cars themed one - its so original!!!!

That would be extremly kind of you both. I will decide in the next day or so if we want to change our plans or leave well enough alone. I will let you know. Thanks again. :worship:

John and I may go late to the meet as our flight does not get in until 5:45PM. In any case, we are going downtown to do some shopping. Let me know if you want to go with us.

Bad Reichenhall? Near Berchtesgaden? ONE of my favorite places in all the world? Have you been to Saltzburg? Konigsee? Up on the Rossfeld? To see the pretty church at Maria Gern? Ohhhhhhhhhh. You LUCKY Girl!
