Hi guys.

Welcome newcomers!!!

Think it was Marilyn who asked? Wont be home soon, week or longer. Still problametic and new problems from fluidlack found. Seriously talking about cancelling. Time will tell. Truely apprec. the support.

Just in case, if need be; anyone willing to organise te candy swap? If so pm me. If needed, Ill be handing that over around aug 5th if any takers.

sorry to hear you are still unwell, hope your feeling a lot better soon and able to join us all on the cruise

Leanne, thanks for posting the photos. I had no idea what it would be like and it looks lovely. Are you going to be living there long term?

I would guess that is true. We are Suntrust & Wells Fargo members so doing it through the bank is no issue. I suppose one could open an account simply to convert Euros but that might be overkill!

So true. Recently we've been thinking of keeping our money in other currencies since the dollar keeps going down down down.

EEEKS! Our cc rates on Chase are highway robbery. After seeing the statement from our last trip, we will only use the card as a last resort.

They are sturdy & there is rubber around the top and a little bump on the straw that keeps it from falling out. :thumbsup2
The only bad point is that they are not dishwasher safe.

Awsome on the cups. can't wait to use them on the cruise. Thank you so much for picking them up for me. :worship:

Thunderstorms don't usually bother me, but flying into one and having one right about me :scared1::scared1::scared1:

We had bulkhead row seats, with extra legroom, so it was a bonus not having cramped legs, but the seats were quite uncomfortable and we had the screen in our armrests, so it makes a big difference, not being able to lift up the armrest and it does seem quite tight for space

I hope you have a lovely weekend, wish Tony a happy birthday from us when it comes :)

Get well soon and wishing you a speedy recovery so you get your strength up for the cruise :)

So sorry to hear of your loss Peggy, our thoughts are with you

:welcome: aboard. We are Mary and DH Stevie and this will be our 9th Disney cruise. We did last year's WBTA and it was amazing

OMG Pat, that doesn't bear thinking about if you hadn't called :scared1::scared1:

Good news on the reduced price !!

Sue, I've spotted your cups in many places in the Magic Kingdom today, so no need for me to make a trip to DTD. The black Mickey Mouse ones are so cute :lovestruc they are really nice and I didn't realise they would be so sturdy. I'm swithering whether to get some myself :confused3

Thank You so much for picking them up for me. Can't wait to use them. Sorry I replied to the wrong post. I want to make sure I thank the right person. Glad they are so sturdy. :worship:

Noel is a source of GREAT information! Words can not completely express my gratitude for her. I love everything she has put together.

After going through all her information I'm finally able to start reading the posts of others. :) I can't wait to meet all of you! I have been on vacations and cruises before but nothing compares to the excitement I'm feeling simply because of this discussion board! I just wish I would have been on here longer.

Beter late than never. Welcome to the group. This is my sister and I's 4th Disney Cruise and about 10th cruise overall. Our DH's opted to stay home this cruise so it is just us girls. Noel is awsome and very knowledgeable, and very nice on top of everything. I get more excited and well informed everyday with this bunch.

....
On applicable cruises (ones that aren't extremely high demand - ie, Hawaii), you will get 10% off room rates

+ an onboard booking credit (OBC) which is linked to your Castaway Club (DCL loyalty program), of which you will be a member at the end of the cruise (and yes, you get it when booking on your first cruise). The OBC is actually tied to the Castaway Club level for the cruise you are sailing on - if you booked 10 cruises while sailing on your first cruise, the OBC credit would be that of a gold member on cruise 6 and of platinum on cruise 11. You are silver castaway until you have completed your 5th cruise.
The current OBC chart:
Silver
$100 for 3-6 nt cruises
$200 for 7 nt or longer cruises

Gold
$150 for 3-6 nt cruises
$270 for 7 nt or longer cruises

Platinum
$250 for 3-6 nt cruises
$350 for 7 nt or longer cruises

Also, the deposit is 10% (instead of 20%) of the cruise fare (not the taxes).

You can book a "dummy" or "future" date if you are unsure of when you will travel. You pay a deposit for a real cruise in the future and then may move that deposit when you make a decision for your cruise, keeping your discount, deposit discount (10%) and OBC. It does not matter how long the dummy date is versus actual cruise for OBC - that is tied to the actual cruise you take. In June, they booked me for a December 2012 cruise on the Magic out of Galveston in the cheapest category, about $160 deposit.

Why? If I had had a dummy date when the Hawaii sailing opened for booking, I could have transferred my deposit and 10% discount. By the time I got on a cruise, all cabins were full (and I had a cabin but couldn't "rebook" the price since that category wasn't available).

I have failed to book onboard and have kicked myself at least twice - and took a cruise in January this year principally to get OBC and discount on our already booked June Alaska cruise. Yes, I ended up spending money to save a little, but it was the principal (and another cruise :goodvibes).

TMI? Hope this helps....

Lynne, since you did such a wonderful job of the details here :thumbsup2 maybe you know the answer to something else I've been trying to remember...but can't!! :confused3

How many bookings are we allowed to make these days, do you know? It used to be one per person in our stateroom...

And are we allowed to book a future cruise if we're not sailing in the cabin - ie for another party in our group? I was thinking we used to have to book ourselves in as one of 2 lead names, then remove our name later, and transfer the lead to the 2nd guest (but no changing of both lead names)....does that make sense??!! Thanks for your input.

Or does anyone else know what current policy is? I have searched on the main board & can't find this part of it... thanks!!!!!!!!

Hi Mandy - glad to hear you're ok and having fun :thumbsup2

Last cruise, I booked 4 dummy cruises. I couldn't use any of these for this purchase since the rate we received for this WBTA was only for new bookings. If you don't know which cruise you will take you can always keep transferring forward or cancel for no extra fee. On the EBTA in May there was no limit of cruises you could book. That may have changed, so I would check. Also the discount was extended to friends and family as well of current passengers. Ask when on board about this. They have a draw sometime in the middle of the cruise or so for 100.00. The more cruises you book, the higher your chances. Also, the wait times are extremely short in the first days of the cruise and progressively gets longer as you wait to the end of the cruise to book a future cruise.

Of all the options I like to carry cash from home and credit card. I stay away from ATMs (emergency only) since I don't like the fees the banks charge. Remember, the less cash you bring, the less you will spend. Also, remember that cash can be stolen. Thieves in Barcelona can smell the scent of cash. pirate: How? I have no idea. Bring cash but be careful. Thieves are at ATMs as well, so be careful. After having been robbed last year while in Barcelona, we now carry a whistle on our wrists. A whistle is wonderful, but both times we were robbed last year, we didn't notice until a bystander tapped our shoulder afterwards and told us what had just happened. (we didn't feel or see a thing, but locals do since it is a big problem in the larger cities) Remember again---pack your passports and cash separately. I just spoke to someone last night in a local store here who told me, "remember the story about your being robbed in Barcelona last year, well, it happened to my daughter's friend on their way to the cruise ship. His carryon bag was left in the taxi as the last item in the car, and just as he was turning to retrieve it, the taxi took off.It had everything in it--passports, cameras & memories of their visit in europe pre-cruise, cash, credit cards. They could not board the cruiseship as a result". Whether this was an honest mistake or not by the taxi driver, taking off with the carryon bag, these 2 lost everything important to them including the cruise.

On a happier note---45 days left until we leave. WOOOHOOO:cool1:

Noel...could you please put in your Welcome Page about anyone who wants to join me on this countdown for "HealthErcise". It will begin today and they can PM me. It took me a week to figure out how this could work. I have made a log sheet where we will watch portions, not needed fats, and exercise daily from today Day 45 to Day 1---and continue with the exercise and meet on the cruise for daily support.
Just a question, has anyone had difficulty with the portions while on cruise?
What has worked if you were concerned with this? I tried on Boarding Day to request for low-salt, half portion meals at Rockin'D Bar (this is when all special diets, seating, etc is to be made) but my requests could not be accomodated. I cannot let food be thrown away. There was nobody at my table who wanted only half a portion, so that idea didn't work either. I am curious to know what worked for others if portions is a concern. I love the dinners, will order and eat everything, but I only want half. Impossible to order since I was told plates are arranged in mass numbers ahead of time, quickly.

I am in !!! I am not quite sure how we can do updates on a thread like this though. Any ideas ????

Sarah...PM me. I have finally figured out how we can do this. Today is Day 45 and with 45 days to go...we have time to rev up for the wave of calories that will hit us. popcorn::

Anyone else interested in joining us, PM me.

Oh Jacqueline I really hope you are feeling better soon. Try to remain positive, we are all routing for you to be on this cruise with us.

First, thanks so much for that - I forgot about the friends & family offers. Speaking of which, did they get the 10% and the OBC depending on their CC status with DCL? No need to put yourself in the res, right? Thanks!!!

The portions on DCL really are a problem, I think, and they keep getting bigger! When we first sailed years ago, they really were smaller, so I'm thinking people have requested the larger ones. (?) I don't like to toss food either, and made myself the human garbage disposal...

One thing that I did was share with DH, but to do this right, I'm thinking if you request an extra plate & ONE dinner (for 2 people) they will get the idea. :confused3

Jacqueline, I really hope that you recover in time. When have you decide to cancel the trip. I keep my fingers crossed for you.

Rooms are still available to book I just looked

It is strange. The whole day you couldn't book and now you can.
What are they doing there.

As of this morning, still no cabin number.
Disney, please release cabin numbers and stop torturing me!!!!

Mugs are fine. Although ecologically non-PC, use a fresh cup for each serving you add to your mug. Cuts down on viruses spreading through the cruisers.

Thanks for posting this Lynne. I wouldn't have thought of it and I'd hate to do anything onboard that spreads germs!

I hope that you get well soon & are still able to cruise with us Jacqueline!

I know this is off topic a bit, but I just couldn't resist posting some pictures of our favourite spots around Crimea, Ukraine (where we live).

This is the Khan's Palace in Bachisarai.

This is the boardwalk in Yalta.

This is called Swallow's Nest and it is also in Yalta.

There are some kids dressed in traditional Crimean Tatar costumes and doing the traditional dance.

Thanks for allowing me to share! :thumbsup2

Your (current) home is very lovely Leanne. Thanks for sharing.

Maybe we could all post some pics from our cities?
